Latest Steam announcements
- Crayon Computer Demo now available - 4 February 2024
Crayon Computer is a game about solving problems with a mouse-drawn physics-based machine. Maybe it is not the "A=B 2" players have waited for. At least it is another Zach-like from Artless Games. Check it out! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2650830/Crayon_Computer/
- 14 Minesweeper Variants Demo is now available! - 9 June 2022
The game's title already explains what it is. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1865060/14_Minesweeper_Variants/ If you enjoyed exploring different rule sets and their unique logic, (like what we did in Understand) give this game a try!
- Patch note - April 14th - 13 April 2022
Fixed a mistake on level 6-2 Japanese translation. Fixed a bug in the level editor.
- Fixed a bug on level select menu - 1 April 2022
What caused the bug is: An easter egg was written for April 1st months ago. But the game structure changed a lot since then, it became a null reference. Sorry for the bug. And sorry for the spoiler.
- Steam workshop and MacOS version now available. - 29 March 2022
Finally, Steam workshop support and MacOS build are available. And, thanks to HAC (@tigerauge0) and competor (@GugenTV)'s help, the game's Japanese translation is reworked. Finally, all proposed features are done, and the full release is coming. Thank you for your support. And see you in the next game.
- Japanese localization update - 14 January 2022
Japanese translation is now available. That is it.
- Bug fix: Mouse scrollwheel and Ctrl+Z - 22 November 2021
Mouse scrollwheel and Ctrl+Z should work properly now.
- To-do list (updated) - 15 November 2021
Now the game enters early access. Let's revisit last month's to-do list, and see what to do next: To-do list: 1. Edge case test We decided to test every possible test case instead. 2. English translation for chapter 3 and later Done. 3. Minimal challenge for chapter 3 and later. Actually, playtesters did better than I expected. Many levels in the game's minimal challenge isn't set as the real minimal value. Overbest the given value will unlock an achievement. 4. A story about how A=B and Pangu Project is created I'm never a good writer, nor a fluent english speaker. At least, the story is better than none. 5. User manual (pdf) In a thematical way. 6. Hotkeys and mouse wheel support Wait, this is on my to-do list? 7. Achievements Done. 8. Level editor and steam workshop support Will be available during early access. 9. Sound effect (Don't expect more sound effects than Understand) Unsure…
- To-do list - 4 October 2021
The more test cases, the better: --- I've finished the second round of level design and I don't think there will be a third round. A few levels might be tweaked but everything looks fine at the moment. The game will introduce three more keywords (2 in chapter 3 and 1 in chapter 4), and consist of 45 levels. To-do list: 1. Edge case test We decided to test every possible test case instead. 2. English translation for chapter 3 and later Done. 3. Minimal challenge for chapter 3 and later. It's almost done. Some of them can still be improved. 4. A story about how A=B and Pangu Project is created 5. User manual (pdf), and user manual for Pangu Project 6. Hotkeys and mouse wheel support 7. Achievements 8. Steam workshop 9. Sound effect (Don't expect more sound effects than Understand) 10. Minor UI tweak The game will enter early access after step 7. In late October or early November, I hope s…
- Dev plays something else - 28 September 2021
According to the Steam Next Fest rules, I have to schedule a stream event. So be it. A=B is a programming puzzle game with only one instruction: A=B, which means replace A with B. In the game, you'll solve various problems with this minimalist language: From replace each letter with its uppercase, to multiply two binary numbers. In the first part of the stream, I'll be coding division with remainder. (Remember, our only instruction is string replacement.) If I succeeded or give up, the second part will be playing the game's built-in minigame, Pangu Project: The Dice Game, a dice management game about building a Mars colony. (As what is known to all, solitaire is a must-have to a Zach-like.)
