Hey Train Mechanics! We're excited to bring you the latest updates on the development of Train Mechanic Simulator 2024. A lot has happened since last update. The first batch of optimizations has arrived, and the development focus is now shifting towards completing all gameplay elements. We're working on mission scenarios, workstations for processing mechanical parts, dynamic task lists and more. The highlight system for attaching and detaching parts has been updated and workstations for processing parts have a new, more intuitive interface. Time of day We have completed work on day and night transitions, added night lighting to the yard and a panel to control time of day in the game. Hey Train Mechanics! Here's the latest developer update on the progress of Train Mechanic Simulator 2024. We've made significant strides in enhancing both visual fidelity and interactive elements within the game. Final touches on the steam locomotive We've added more exterior details to the steam locomotive, alongside fully modeled internal components such as the boiler, superheater, firebox, and ashpan. Simulation now allows players to perform coal loading, firing, airflow management, water level control and steam production. We're currently integrating gauges and indicator to create a sense of being inside a real locomotive with a real boiler right in front of you. The locomotive's cabin is now fully interactive, allowing players to operate valves, levers, doors, windows and even lockers with a very immersive, hands-on approach. Hey Train Mechanics! Train Mechanic Simulator 2024 new developer post is here. We report on the progress of the last month development. Continued work on environment We keep working on the yard environment all the time. New objects are being added, and existing ones are being updated. This month, we have replaced our old placeholder water pump with a brand-new model. Also, the last major building in the yard is closer to completion. This is the metalwork building where more serious work will be done. Continued Work on BR52 Locomotive We're very close to finishing the BR52 locomotive now. Driveable steam locomotives The locomotives you will be repairing have just come alive. You will have complete freedom to drive it seamlessly from workshop onto yard, test track or simply use it instead of shunting locomotive if you wish. And it doesn’t just drive – you will be able to use a set of cinematic cameras to look at wheels, rods, suspension, brakes and all other moving parts in action. Introducing BR 52 series locomotive The time has come to reveal the first locomotive that you will get in the upcoming demo version of the game. The DRB Class 52 was a mass-produced locomotive during the Second World War, and it became a very popular basis for locomotives used all around Europe. With well over, 7000 of such locomotives built, well over 4000 continued to serve for decades after the war. Nearly 23 meters (75 ft) long, this 76-ton locomotive is capable of reaching speeds up to 80 km/h (50 mph).
