- American Football and Camera Crane - 29 July 2024
This build adds an American Football uniform, new animations, and prop American Football. Each new uniform has 4 different colorways. We've also added a basic American Football field location. This is the largest location so far and it's obvious we need a faster way of getting around, which will come in future updates. This build also adds a new 10' Camera Crane that can be animated with the "Shots" system. Cheers, Matt
- Meta Actors, Cine Cafe, and More Props - 18 July 2024
This build introduces a lot of new content and addresses some bugs. 10 Meta Actors and new Body Animations Many new props, lights, and building assets Cine Cafe, Wallace, and LED Ceiling Maps Hair on the Meta Actors should be more stable on MacOS. - Motel and Office Location - 7 July 2024
This update adds two new locations. Office Building 1 and Motel 1. Please watch the YouTube video a tutorial on how to use these new locations. There is also a new Discord channel which is the primary support and feedback channel. It is linked from YouTube. We are aware of MacOS hair issues with the Meta Actors. We are aware of a PC crash issue starting a new map. There are various fixes posted in the Discord channel. We are still tracking down exactly what causes this new crash. Cheers, Matt
- Location (Sun, Sky, Weather) and Meta Actors - 1 July 2024
This is a large update to Cine Tracer 2. We have upgraded from Unreal Engine 5.2 to Unreal Engine 5.4.2. This may cause some unexpected issues, please let us know via YouTube/Instagram if you have trouble opening/using this new version. You can revert to Cine Tracer 0.6.3 by using a Steam Beta Branch. Known Bugs: - MacOS, Meta Actor Grooms literally explode. This is a known UE 5.4 issue that will hopefully be resolved in the future. We will give Meta Actors alternative hair in the next update. Possible Issues - UE 5.4 changed how packaging works and a CTUserSettings.sav file was not packaged with this release. This may cause issues again. - Doors and Bathroom - 10 June 2024
This update we've addressed several issues and added some new assets. A Fatal Error crash regarding CT2UserSettings not loading has been addressed. The Editor Mode no longer collides with the set and stage. You can freely clip through all objects, but be careful not to fly outside of the stage and go to first person. You will fall into the literal UE5 abyss. A new map called "Bathroom Sets" has been added that has three prebuilt static bathroom sets. - Cine Tracer 2 "Editor Mode" Major Redesign - 20 May 2024
Cine Tracer 2 has been fully redesigned with a focus on a new "Editor / Mouse Mode" that operates like Cine Tracer (original). The "First Person / Gamepad" mode has been mostly retired, while it is getting redesigned. Up until now Cine Tracer 2 has been in experimental/prototype phase to test UE5 on different systems and to try new designs. This v0.6.0 update brings it closer to being production ready with a new "Project" system designed for longer term support. The newly designed "Scenes and Shots" system allows for easier scene iteration and even animation between different scene states or "Shots." In this release, only the first three lights and floating camera can have their parameters animated between shots. All objects location/position can be animated. Cheers, Matt
- Unable to Take Screenshot? - 4 April 2024
If you are unable to take a screenshot in Cine Tracer 2 on MacOS there is a relatively new MacOS Security issue blocking the game from accessing the "Documents" folder. Please follow these steps to give CineTracer2 access to the "Documents" folder 1. Go to System Settings / Privacy and Security / Files and Folder 2. Toggle OFF access to "Documents Folder" 3. Take a screenshot in CineTracer2 4. Accept "Request Permission to Documents Folder." - Tube and Bar Light - 2 April 2024
This update adds two new types of lights to the inventory. The "Bar Light" and "Tube Light" are both common fixtures in the film industry and controlled using the new "Lighting Tool." In a future update the existing lighting and grip equipment will be converted to work with this new tool. The end goal is a "Lighting Console" tool that will allow for editing of multiple lights at the same time. Please watch the YouTube video for a demo of the new systems. Known Build Issues These will be addressed in a hot fix or the next update - This build has introduced a few "Instruction" errors. ex. ShotList tool only shows for changing shots. It should say / . - Floating Camera and Shot List Tool - 9 March 2024
This update adds a new camera that can freely move without gravity or physics. The new "Floating Camera" can be locked and has a roll axis. There is a new workflow for reviewing shots with the "Shot List Tool." Saving and Loading the project has been moved to the main menu. The Inventory/Main Menu now has mouse support. - Set Building System Update - Cine Tracer 2 (0.4.0) - 8 February 2024
Cine Tracer 2 (0.4.0) is a large system update that will not open older saves. Previous versions of the game are available as Steam Branches. This update unifies all of the "Tools" into a single radial menu. There is a new "Furniture Tool" that helps place furniture perfectly against walls and on a simple building grid.
- Set Building System (0.3.0) - 7 January 2024
Cine Tracer 2 (0.3.0) introduces the first "Set Building System" to the game. To use the new system, you need to be in the new "Building Map." In that map you can place set wall (flats) and paint the floor and the walls. There is also a new delete tool that will allow you to remove any user placed objects. Please watch the 0.3.0 YouTube video for a full walkthrough. The older version of Cine Tracer 2 are available as "Beta Branches" if you would like to lock into a version for existing projects. - Cine Tracer v0.1.2 "Bedroom" Update - 3 September 2023

This update brings the very first tutorial map, shot list, and inventory system. This release is still very experimental and should not be used for serious long term productions.
