- v1.5.2 Bestiary and Perk Reworks are now live! - 16 September 2025
Hello Creature Keepers, Fervir here! After some testing in the beta branch, the updates to the Bestiary, Befriending, and Perks system are here! Here are the Key Features of this updatePerk Rework The new perk point system allows for deeper customization of creatures. Based on initial feedback of perks being too punishing by having downsides to them, the downsides were removed leaving only upsides to perks. The perk system became a 'choose from 2 buffs' at certain levels which works as a temporary fix. The new system now grants creatures 5 perk points at level 1 and then 1 point for each time a creature levels, so every time a creature levels up, there is more opportunity for customization.Befriending ReworkIn the old perk system, each creature would have only up to 8 perks to choose from, but you can see more than 8 perks above, so how does getting perks work now? The answer, from the ne…

- Beta Test Branch is Available! - 17 July 2025
Hello Creature Keepers! First off, thank you all for your continued support since Creature Keeper's release! I feel joyful in seeing how you all connect with CK, whether it's through bringing a tear to your eye from the story, or through the excitement of putting a silly hat on your favorite creature. I've been thinking about how to create more opportunities for that connection, and one way is to introduce a public beta-branch here on steam, in addition to a dedicated channel for it in the Creature Keeper Discord! The purpose of this is to give me a low-stakes environment where I can upload a version of Creature Keeper which is open to be influenced by your feedback! This feedback will be especially helpful for me as I get into the upcoming perk and bestiary rework systems, making them more fun and as bug-free as possible. The Test Branch and channel in discord are ready right now, her…

- Known Bugs & Issues with Creature Keeper Launch Build - 9 May 2025
This list is comprised of bugs & issues we've collected throughout launch day. Such that players know we are going to address them first and foremost, and we communicate issues that may have affected players, or may in the future. Known Bugs - If you befriend a Denka into your party or storage before interacting with the first pocket garden sequence, which happens once you first arrive at Horn Tower, it will break the sequence. - Creature Keeper (PC) Review - 8 May 2025
I was pretty interested in trying out Creature Keeper because, as I’ve mentioned before, I’ve felt like the Pokémon series has gotten a bit stale, and I’ve long relied on the Indie scene to approach it with fresh new ideas. So far, while games like Nexomon and Corromon have been pretty serviceable little Poké-likes, games like Beastieball , Ooblets, and Cassette Beasts have found ways to really shake things up and stand out above the rest. Creature Keeper certainly belongs in the latter category, combining several unique elements of gameplay with its central monster taming mechanic to make something truly unique. When I started playing it, I jokingly said it felt like “ Pokémon Red/Blue but with more ambition,” but the longer I played, the more my opinion shifted because Creature Keeper isn’t really trying to be Pokémon . It’s going for something far more interesting. Players take on th…
