- Developer update: Morn Jaero - 28 April 2025
Greetings, Necromancers… We hope you’ve all been enjoying your time with Never Mourn since the March update went live; please do continue to provide your feedback (and your Steam reviews!) as we get ever closer to version 1.0. Today, we wanted to draw your attention beyond the great veil, towards some of the environments in Never Mourn that you can explore and overcome… Once a hardworking fishing village set among a beautifully bleak, black sanded shoreline, Morn Jaero is now ferociously ablaze. Constructed close to the ruins of a great aqueduct and a once formidable fortress that’s long since sat hollow and haunted by the tortured souls of the past, Morn Jaero was home to the most resilient of people. Despite scratching a living with their fishing and algae cultivation, they too were targeted by the raids that tore the region asunder. These attacks ended in a bloody and nightmarish mas…

- Never Mourn - Developer Update - 14 March 2025
Greetings Necromancers, It’s been a few months since our last DevBlog so we want to give you an update on what’s been going on with Never Mourn and Primal Seed. Firstly let’s delve into Never Mourn. What’s been going on the last few months? - We’ve been working behind the scenes on a number of aspects within the game. Reworking the early user experience We want the new players to quickly go into action so we ensured that the learning curve is not as steep as it used to be. You should have clearer explanations, less reading and more fighting during your first steps in Never Mourn. Focusing on game play We want to make sure the learning curve of the game, beyond the first experience, is challenging but not off putting. So we’ve been doing a lot of balancing work. We will keep fine tuning those little by little and making subtle improvements here and there. Our goal is that every play thro…

Hello! For this patch we focused mainly on performances and fixing bugs. We are currently preparing a very exciting feature that takes some time to develop and we wanted to make the gameplay smoother while we are preparing that update. Here is a list of what has changed with this patch: -Heavily improved performances getting worst during a run. -Fixed some instances of effects or spells dealing damage based on percentage of life being affected by damage multipliers, scaling their damage beyond the intended value (i.e. Draining Seeds) -Room Rewards that cannot be obtained because the condition to obtain them are met or impossible, such as Control bonus while you are already at max control now gives Memory shard instead of giving a useless reward. -Gameplay sounds is now turned off on certain menu during gameplay, preventing annoying loops in the background. -Fixed a localisation issue on…
