About this game
Archrebel is a sci-fi, turn-based strategy war game, strongly inspired by the classic Rebelstar , released in 1986. In Archrebel, players control several dozen units on a grid-based map, performing actions limited by a classic action-point system similar to those found in Laser Squad and UFO: Enemy Unknown . The plot: You will take control of a squad dispatched to respond to a distress call from a recently established colony on the planet Kaprical. Composed of newly initiated men and women, your team is sent by the private company Archrebel to prove its worth. What begins as a routine mission quickly turns into a fight for survival, as the squad becomes entangled in skirmishes against an unexpected totalitarian enemy. By joining forces with the colonists, looting resources, researching technologies, and building and capturing powerful droids, you will gradually assemble a force capable of repelling the intruder that has secretly seized control of the planet’s colonies. Types of missions: Elimination – eliminate all hostile forces. Exploration – gather intel and locate assets. Capture Base – infiltrate and seize enemy compounds. Retrieval – secure resources and assets from dropships before the enemy. Rescue – find and escort allies safely back to base. For the most part, players will be able to choose their missions, each affiliated with one of the three factions the player can work with, each offering unique rewards. In addition to confronting the invading force, factions must also contend with the planet’s native, ferocious wildlife. There are even reports of behemoth-sized creatures that have terrorized several colonies. These are the core features planned for the initial release: Single-player campaign with persistent and multiple-choice progress. Partially procedurally-generated campaign missions. Good old Laser Squad/X-COM action point system. Partially destructible environments. Pixel precision shooting. Ranged and melee combat. Full programmable and procedurally-generated single missions for endless replay value. An inventory system with slot and weight limit control. Optional permadeath (Iron-mode). A reactive morale system able to caus…
