• Thunder Helix v0.610 Released - 5 November 2024

  Hello! I'm happy to release this first part of updates to improve controller support in Thunder Helix. The main change you will notice is the addition of an information bar in all non-gameplay "front-end" interface screens. This will list the inputs available for that screen with appropriate controller buttons (or keyboard keys) shown. In addition a serious crash bug has been detected and resolved. Certain systems were experiencing crash-to-desktop errors on startup caused by the Windows MME sub-system. Thunder Helix was using this, in part, to support joysticks. This has been removed, leaving the more common DirectInput and XInput APIs still available. It is not expected that existing working controllers will stop working. Please report this on the discussion forum if that happens. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. A further controller update is planned for the future. - Enjoy!

  Hello everyone! I'm pleased to release this new update to Thunder Helix. The main addition is a new scenario "Tornado!" in which you must evacuate a chain of islands while avoiding a deadly tropical storm. It will be a difficult task, good luck! Here's a list of other changes in this update: Ability to have an additional passenger holding onto the ladder, if the aircraft is at capacity. Quick exit the waypoint/nav MFD page when target selection keys are pressed. Lewis chain-gun aiming position is shown on the HUD. Itemise destroyed helicopters on the Pilot Stats. screen.   Hello everyone! This is my first update to Thunder Helix since release last week. It fixes a number of issues, and adds a new cockpit look left/right feature. Here's a full list of changes since release! Can now look left/right in cockpit. See control reference PDF for details. Cockpit HUD now shows an additional circle which indicates the aiming direction of the Raven cannon and Avenger chin-gun. Show version number on the front-end and in-game Options>Mission page.
