- Version 1.0.7 – Demo boosted & fixes everywhere - 1 September 2025
Demo gets serious Until now the demo was just an appetizer with Level 1 (Bestiosaur). But we know you’re hungry, so now it also includes Level 9 (Batrachian). Two for the price of one: a starter and the main dish. Improved non-VR view By default we now use the new first-person view with “anti-nausea” enabled. You can aim perfectly even if the car is spinning like a top. If you don’t like it, just change it in the options or press C to swap views. Inverted Y axis A true classic. You can now invert the Y axis when playing without VR. Because there are two types of players: those who *don’t* invert the axis… and those who are wrong. Bugs squashed We cleaned up all reported bugs. Highlights include: - Flight switches that sometimes ignored your shots. - Rocks in Level 5 that you could fly straight through (sorry, no ghost powers here). Plus some small tweaks to make everything feel tighter…
- Version 1.0.6 – New Level, New Buggy, More Chaos - 29 August 2025
Major Update 1.0.6 – BATRACHIAN Unleashed New Level: BATRACHIAN Level 9 has arrived at last. A boss immune to bullets that can only be defeated by turning the environment to your advantage. Ready for the challenge? Buggy redesign Goodbye to those roof bars that blocked your shots. Now you can aim freely at any angle without frustration. On top of that, your virtual body fits the seat better and only disappears if you move too much in real life, boosting immersion. Smoother driving The buggy now responds much better to the accelerator, allowing for gradual speed control. Yes, going slow is finally possible without frustration. Tweaked slow-motion powerup Slow time lasts a little less, but your weapon fires faster while it’s active. Less time, more action — makin…
- Version 1.0.5 – Hold on tight - 26 August 2025
Steering with style Prefer driving with your hands instead of the stick? The wheel now responds much better to your movements. Plus, in the options you can choose between auto-magnet by proximity (default) or grip for more precise control. Final attack upgrade The level 3 boss, “Chiropteran,” no longer beats around the bush: its final attack now makes it crystal clear you’re about to get crushed. At least there won’t be any doubt about what’s coming. Safer jumps The jump platform switches now only react to your shots. Debris from other explosions won’t mess with them anymore. Less chaos, more control (but don’t get too comfortable). Friendlier buggy We adjusted the position of your character inside the buggy. Small movements no longer make your body vanish so easily. Basically: you’re still there, even if you get a little jumpy.
- Version 1.0.4 Notes – Faster, Louder, Meaner - 25 August 2025
Speed it up The first 8 levels just got a serious tune-up: faster pacing, more chaos, and a whole lot more action. We also polished the little details so things feel smoother than ever. Thanks for all the feedback — that’s exactly why Early Access is worth it. Retry without regrets Now, if you take down a boss after a retry, you won’t lose all your mission progress. Because re-fighting the same monster is punishment enough. Bosses with manners We tweaked some bosses on normal difficulty. Special shoutout to the Methane Slug in level 2, who used to slap you around like it was training for the UFC. Now it only gets that nasty on higher difficulties. Good luck with that.
- Steam Deck Compatibility - 24 August 2025
Echo Wars is optimized for Steam Deck (non‑VR mode):• Tuned vibration feedback• Improved camera smoothing options• UI readability adjustments for handheld• Performance presets for smooth playNote: VR mode is not supported on Steam Deck. For VR, please use a VR‑ready PC.
- Version 1.0.3 Notes – Survival Manual - 22 August 2025
Stuck? Not anymore! Before diving headfirst into each level, you’ll now see some handy tips that might just save your life (or at least your patience). Tips with a twist * From “lower the difficulty and pretend it was your plan” to “ninjas can’t handle a good run-over.” * Yes, we also remind you that giant worms CANNOT be killed. (Seriously, stop trying). * And watch what you shoot: sometimes blasting the wrong thing disables your jump booster. That’s not a bug… it’s a tip. Why this update matters Because now, when you fail, you can at least say: “Hey, the game did warn me!”.
