• Achievements + Localizations - 24 July 2026

The second half of the maintenance update is live. I've been dragging my feet on the steam achievements for forever, and they are finally in! 68 of them: Just boot up the game to claim any achievements you've earned. Also added support for different languages:Simplified ChineseRussianSpanishBrazilianGermanJapaneseFrenchKoreanPolishThese are mostly machine translations and I'll be getting in touch with real people over time to review them. If you notice any terrible translations feel free to email support or post in community discussions. Thanks!

• Maintenance Update - 21 July 2026

Long overdue bug fixes and performance improvements!16 bug / crash fixesFixed several late game performance hogs - not quite memory leaks, but similar type of problemBig performance improvements when the number of enemies on screen gets near the limitFixed uncompressed images being stored in VRAM - was probably causing severe stutter for machines that had limited VRAMDrastic reduction in game startup load time Upcoming changesI was messing around with converting the game to a shooter - of course I'm not going to just drop that in an update and delete the original gameplay. But it feels great to fire your weapons, and use jump/dash/melee on a button press instead of waiting for enemies to trigger it. Most likely outcome is I add it as a separate mode at some point in the near future. Requires a lot of adjustments to weapons and a few upgrades to work well. Thanks again to everyone who ga…

• Armechgeddon 1.0 - 16 April 2024

The original plan was to release more updates leading up to the full release, but it ended up taking extra time to manage. I decided to just grind out all the planned content so there would be lots of new stuff to play with on release. Sorry it took so long! Release Content 14 pilots 14 mechs (6 core designs and 8 extra variants) 24 weapon upgrades 16 mech upgrades 18 weapons 5 different maps Each map has a unique weather hazard An "Armechgeddon" map with randomized environment, weathers, bosses 30 different enemy varieties Some extra optimization and increased enemy counts Graphical polish across the board Added a parry mechanic to melee attacks, to protect your mech mid-melee Note: Progression has been reset Post-Release I expect to find some bugs, so post any problems you run into in the discussion boards, and expect a maintenance patch or two at some point. I will be starting a new…

• Maintenance Patch 0.4.1 - 29 September 2023

Nothing too exciting, just some performance improvements and tweaks to options. Updated to a plugin version of the steam integration to improve profiling Scrap now uses pooling like everything else (should've been done long ago) Fixed issues with the radar achievement not counting utility usage correctly Reorganized the pause menu to make room for future options Added borderless window toggle Fixed minor bug with steam overlay toggling Fixed bug in the garage where level 3 and 4 of an upgrade would both be highlighted at level 4

• Content Drop: Future Tech Part 1 - 25 September 2023

This update is the first half of the "future tech" themed update, focusing on more build options and filling the maps with a bit of variety. I wanted to get something out for the steam shmup event, so I decided to break it up into 2 parts, since there is a good bit here! Main Changes and Additions Added "scientist" pilot Added Gamma Cannon weapon Added Auxiliary Array weapon Added new "map utilities" to find throughout the maps (detailed below) Added destructible buildings throughout the maps Added a minimap, to help locate map utilities Added a reroll mechanic, allowing you to get a new set of upgrade options Added new weapon upgrades (detailed below) Added new mech upgrades (detailed below) Map Utilities Jump Pad Air Drop Repair Pad Powerup Pad New Mech Upgrades Heavy Ordnance Advanced Sensors Reactor Overclock Spiked Armor Stabilizer Arm New Weapon Upgrades Manual Override Overpressu…

• Content Drop: Close Combat - 12 August 2023

After a longer wait than anticipated, the first content update for Armechgeddon is here! If you have played the game thoroughly already, I'd recommend waiting for the full release to go back in and play again. There is fun stuff here, but not quite enough to warrant another full playthrough or anything. Timeline For Updates Although I have some awesome help for parts of the game, this is primarily a one man show. I also am working a full-time day job, and just became a father! ːsteamhappyː We're settling into new routines, and my time management is improving. But the next couple updates to bring Armechgeddon up to full release status should not take nearly as long as this one did. Main Changes Added the Odachi mech, a melee focused mech with a real big sword. Added the Brawler pilot, a melee focused pilot. Added the Nanite Leech upgrade, allowing lifesteal for your weapons. Added the Wr…

• Post Launch Update - Version 0.2.0 - 24 April 2023

Thanks to some helpful reviews and feedback, I've been able to address several UI annoyances, and made some input additions. Closing the steam overlay won't unpause the game with the pause menu still open No more negative health when you get wrecked Pressing back or escape will now go back 1 page instead of returning to the main menu during map/mech/pilot selection Misc UI centering Controller movement deadzones reconfigured - controller movement should be smoother New control settings option menu: two new options and view controls. New option: Manual Rotation Enabled by default, this allows the mouse or right controller stick to directly control the mech's rotation. New Option: Auto Recenter Enabled by default, this affects controllers only. If enabled, you need to hold the right controller stick down to maintain the rotation you want.
