Those who complete it will have their name added to the game forever. We previously held similar events during the original game release and the expansion launch. - Patch 7.1.0 And Some Thoughts - 29 September 2025
Patch 7.1.0 updateRemoved weapon requirements from ~30 skills. This has been requested a few times, and it made sense for improving build variety. You can now more easily mix classes, even make something like a melee-fire caster or a marksman-necromancer if that's your thing.Buffed spellbooks AA damage scaling.Added a small chance to find a basic fishing rod in the base game. Some performance improvements when leading a larger army of summons.A handful of minor bugfixes for issues reported in the past couple of months. Some thoughtsIt’s been almost 2 years since release, and nearly a year since the expansion. Time flies, doesn't it?I hope those of you who have followed the journey of Svarog's Dream are doing well.As mentioned before, we're happy with where Svarog's Dream is now, so there won't be major updates coming next year. The bigger news is that we're working on a completely new RPG,…
- A Huge Thank You! - 15 February 2025
One Month After the Expansion It’s been a month since the expansion launched, and with it, our celebration event has came to an end. We crafted this expansion as a way to give more to all the great players who have supported the game since its release. We worked hard, without huge expectations. Well, it backfired in the best possible way, as the expansion's release was a much bigger success than we anticipated. Thousands of you picked up the game last month, and on January 12th, 1,610 players were online in a single day - a new record, even surpassing our original launch! Reading your feedback has been a highlight of this journey. Your words of support for the game have meant the world to us. Thank you for playing, and thank you for sharing your experiences with us. It makes all the work truly worthwhile. https://i.imgur.com/N240ae1.png Expansion Challenges – Final Results The challenge…
- Patch v7.0.0 and Game Stability Period - 15 February 2025
Patch v7.0.0 The new patch is live! It includes 10 new craftable potions, a few new rings of power, stability updates, 3 new QoL game settings and various other fixes. Check out the details here. https://i.imgur.com/6NY5W18.jpeg Game stability period From our perspective, the game is complete and in a good place. We’ve implemented the majority of what we wanted, and on top of that, we’ve added a huge number of ideas from you, the players, that come after original release. To give you an idea, since the expansion release (in the last 40 days), we’ve received over 210 ideas, reported issues, and QoL update requests from you. Of those: 160+ were implemented (~75%), 27 were marked as low priority, 23 we couldn’t reproduce or were rejected. Since the release, we’ve acted on most of the feedback and implemented over 1,000 smaller and larger updates across more than 100 game patches. Nothing i…
- Making death a bit more interesting - 12 February 2025
If you're not fully familiar with how death works in this game, you can read more about it on the wiki. Some players love the reincarnation system, while others aren’t big fans. This update aims to make it more enjoyable for everyone by improving the fun parts and cutting the frustrating bits. Patch v6.5.2 – What’s New? Character Rerolls – After death, you can now reroll your next character for 3 God’s Favors. You can keep rerolling as long as you have God's Favors to spend or until you find the chosen one. 12 New Characters – Each comes with a unique (Expertise) talent, only obtainable through resurrection. These new talents are designed to shake up different playstyles and can only be acquired by finding the right characters in a much larger pool of those with common traits. Gender – If two characters of the same gender appear, the third will be the opposite. Consequences - After dyin…
- Wiki, New Difficulty Settings, and Game Fixes - 9 February 2025
Wiki Over the past 10 days, we've been working on the game's wiki page, which you can find here: https://svarogsdream.wiki.gg/wiki/Svarog%27s_Dream_Wiki It’s an open wiki, meaning anyone with an account on that site can contribute, improve, or expand it. We dumped a bunch of game data, including a list of all items, quests, and more. Feel free to check it out! Cursed Difficulty We've added a new difficulty, and we strongly recommend not enabling it unless you've already completed the game on Hard. This is a challenging mode where, on top of increased difficulty, you must choose one of the following curses: A) Enemies grow stronger over time. B) Enemies grow stronger as you grow stronger. C) Enemies don't grow but they start much stronger and all healing effects are reduced by 50%. You can pick only one of the three. This feature is optional, disabled by default, and can be toggled on or…
- Patch v6.4.0 – Major Class Balance Update and More - 31 January 2025
Class Skill Updates We’ve reviewed player feedback from both veterans and newcomers to identify class imbalances. As you probably know, in the game, you can mix up to four classes from the 15 available. The question isn’t just about which class is strong on its own, but rather which ones are worth committing to in order to find skills that synergize with others from different classes. With this in mind, our goal with the patch was not simply to buff some numbers, we actually added new skills to struggling classes to make them more interesting. Among around 30 class updates, we are introducing 12 new passive skills and 1 new active skill. Fire and Ice mages received the most attention as they really struggled in mid-to-late-game, but 14 out of 15 classes received some updates. Full details and our reasoning can be found in the thread here. Achievements Rework Most achievements can now be…
- Expansion and base game hotfixes - 12 January 2025
Hello everyone, With the release of the expansion, some new bugs were introduced that unfortunately slipped through our testing efforts. A few of these issues have also impacted the base game. We are actively working on it and have already pushed over 20 fixes. As we address the newly introduced issues through mini-patches, we will keep this Steam thread updated. Are you encountering any particularly problematic issues with the game? Let us know either through the Steam forums or directly on Discord. Thank you!
- Expansion Release: 30 Days of Community Challenges and Celebration - 9 January 2025
The expansion Return of the Old Gods has just been released today! To celebrate, we’re introducing two community challenges! They will last for the next 30 days and are primarily intended to create small opportunities for community collaboration in an otherwise single-player game. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2982030/Svarogs_Dream__Return_of_the_Old_Gods_Expansion/ Challenge 1: Svarog's Memory Fragments In the expansion area, you’ll find 46 lost shards of Svarog's memory. Collect 35 of these shards and share a screenshot to qualify for the reward. We had a similar challenge to this one a year ago during the game's release. Reward: Your name (or username) will be immortalized in the game on a hidden wall within the expansion area, revealed as part of an Easter egg. Additional Note: - Pirated copies are not eligible to participate. - We reserve the right to request adjustments to us…

- Expansion Preview #6: New Story and Celestial Battles - 7 January 2025
We invested four years of work into the core game, which features four endings. Symbolically, our fifth year of development brings an expansion, and with it, a fifth ending. Expansion Story In the original game, the old gods remained fractured, without a unified path. The expansion seeks to change that. Our main goal was to create a narrative where the old gods stand united, and we've built an entirely new questline to make it happen. At the heart of this story is Stribog, the god of wind. His mission is monumental: to unite the old gods, rebuild the shattered Pantheon of Oak, and mount a true challenge against the new one-God. Will he succeed? That’s up to you. Expansion Celestial Battles To reflect the expansion’s bold themes, we’ve reimagined the boss fights. Players will now face celestial foes: actual angels. Prepare to battle three epic bosses inspired by biblical lore: Seraphim,…
- Patch 6.1.0 - 5 January 2025
Patch 6.1 prepares the game for the upcoming expansion and introduces over 30 updates and fixes to the core gameplay. In terms of the core game, the patch primarily focuses on QoL improvements. Some notable changes include: A new option on the map to display faction ownership of each region in the world. Filters added to the log page for easier navigation. A new game setting to enable character comments about the environment, including warnings about potential dangers during nighttime. The ability to move all alchemy ingredients to the alchemy bag with a single click. A new way to rearrange skill slots by dragging them. The addition of a class name for combinations of two or more classes. We’ve also implemented another set of custom buffs for enemies across the world, based on feedback from testers. The lore in the almanac has also been updated to better align with the new story introdu…
- Expansion Preview #5: Two New Classes and some Lore - 28 December 2024
Hello! There are less than two weeks until the expansion's release. In today's article, we will introduce two new classes debuting with the expansion. Beastbane The Beastbane is a melee, order-oriented class that scales with the number of beasts you've hunted. This class unlocks the ability to wield two melee weapons, a feature that has been highly requested by players in the past. Dual-wielding weapons simultaneously applies the buffs of both, making the class as strong as the quality of gear you can find. This ability is balanced by the significant number of points required to fully unlock it. If you enjoy investing heavily in passive skills and tearing through enemies with auto-attacks rather than relying on active abilities, this class is perfect for you. Doombringer The Doombringer is a chaos-oriented support class that is not dependent on any specific weapon. Designed to be chaoti…
- Expansion Preview #4: Faction Wars and Other Updates - 18 December 2024
The release of our expansion is just three weeks away! This is the fourth article in our series about what the expansion brings, and this time, we will talk more about the new side content added to the game. Faction Wars The core game already featured faction wars as part of the main story, but they were limited in terms of which factions you could join and what territories you could conquer. With the expansion, we’ve split the world into 16 areas, each controlled by one of six different factions. As a player, you can now join any of these six factions and work to paint the whole world in their colors. Conquering an area under your faction’s banner will replace the local citizens, introduce unique NPCs, and trigger related world events. https://i.imgur.com/8g7vTa5.jpeg To conquer a territory, you’ll need to initiate a siege and assist your army, much like in the core game. This content…
- Expansion Preview #3: New Items, Traders, and some Lore - 8 December 2024
Here’s a smaller update on some additional content coming in the expansion. Among other things, the expansion will expand the item pool with over 120 new unique items. New Items We are introducing a new category of items known as Cursed Items. These are weapons and gear with attributes often surpassing those of divine equipment but balanced by unique drawbacks. Over 40 Cursed Items will be unlocked with expansion. Additionally, we are adding more than 20 new offhand items, offering offensive options for players wielding one-handed weapons instead of shields. The expansion will also include new food and alchemy ingredients, fresh herbs, and an array of new recipes for food and potions crafted from these resources. https://i.imgur.com/LSysvMd.jpeg More Roaming Traders We're adding more roaming traders who sell rare items and roaming attribute trainers, making the world feel more alive. Th…
- Patch 6.0.0 - 22 November 2024
A long time has passed since the last patch, as we were primarily focused on working on the expansion. However, that doesn't mean we haven't continued polishing the core game. We have just released a patch with accumulated changes to the core game from the past few months. There are over 30 improvements and bug fixes, you can view the full list of changes in this Steam forum thread. We have also reworked the core game architecture to prepare it for the expansion. However, this will result in a much larger patch download size than usual. In summary: We further polished movement and controls. We made balance changes, focusing on buffs and mini-reworks for dexterity-based skills. We fixed almost all bugs reported over the past few months. The patch also includes extra polish and several performance improvements.
- Expansion Preview #2: Devotion, Shrines, and World Events - 18 November 2024
Welcome to the second of seven posts where we’ll be diving into all the new features coming with the expansion. In this update, we’ll explore how we’re introducing more combat opportunities and making the world feel a bit more interactive. Devotion Shrines Scattered across the world, you’ll now find around 30 large and 60 small Devotion Shrines. These shrines are guarded by enemies, and cleansing them offers you the chance to devote them to Order or Chaos. Large shrines can also be dedicated to specific gods, unlocking skill upgrades as a reward. Our design philosophy for these shrines was to provide optional combat challenges throughout the game. Since death carries significant consequences, we’ve been cautious about overwhelming players with overly strong encounters in the open world. With these shrines, you can face tougher enemies on your own terms. We’ve already showcased how all 1…
- Expansion Preview #1: Fishing, Gardening, and Some Lore - 9 November 2024
Only Two Months Until the Expansion Release. While you wait, we'll be sharing more about the new mechanics and content in a series of posts. This is the first of seven posts, so stay tuned for more! New Mechanic: Fishing To start fishing, simply equip a fishing rod and cast it toward any water surface. Each fishing spot has a unique loot pool, with rewards ranging from common fish to divine treasures. There are even new exclusive items that can only be obtained by fishing. The expansion will introduce different types of fishing rods, special rings to enhance fishing, and a new attribute to increase your chances of finding the best loot quickly. Our goal with mechanics like this is to further enhance the meditative exploration aspect of the game, inviting you to check every lake and river as you journey through each area. https://i.imgur.com/tS6vNP3.jpeg New Mechanic: Gardening The expan…
- Information about the upcoming expansion. - 3 November 2024
Release date: Hello, we have some news about the expansion to the game! We've decided on the release date: it will be on January 9th, 2025. The expansion will bring a new path in the main quest story, a new island-like area, new mechanics, and will expand most aspects of the game with additional content. How the main quest will work: From the start, there will be a new main questline that leads to a fifth possible ending of the game. Players will be able to switch between the existing main quest and this new line whenever they like. This means you can start a completely new run or simply continue on your existing save file, as long as you haven't reached one of the four endings yet. Updates to the core game: We’ve also prepared nearly 30 different improvements and bug fixes for the core game. This free patch will go live in about one month. Expansion Details: Over the next two months, w…
