- Movepools Rework + Signature Moves and Polish - 8 September 2026
Hi all! I'm here with some more updates that incorporate recent feedback :) Let's get right into it!Movepools rework Dokimon's movepools have been completely rebuilt from the ground up, giving more moves to each monster, as well as a new class system and attacker type that will help differentiate Dokimon significantly more than before. Monsters are grouped into one of the three categories in each system:Physical, Magical, Hybrid: Determines what type of damaging moves Dokimon getAttacker, General, Enchanter: Determines what kind of moves Dokimon getMonotype vs. Duotype: Monotype monsters get more moves of that type + stronger STABSignature Moves To provide further individualism to each Dokimon, key monsters has been provided 1-3 'signature moves' that are key to that Dokimon's character, traits, or attacking style. These two big changes together mean no two Dokimon are alike anymore, and…

- Added V-Sync + Improved Move Prediction + Movepools Balance - 11 August 2026
Hiyo~ So I was working on the dokimon-engine as I continue my development on 'Dokimon Quest: II', and decided to throw a couple things back into this game, as they are pretty substantial improvements without much work or risk of causing issues^^ Lets get right into it! Added V-Sync Firstly, I finally went ahead and added a relatively highly requested feature: V-Sync This should theoretically reduce, or completely eliminate screen tearing for some users that were experiencing it on certain setups. I'd also like to apologize for not adding this sooner. Originally, this was never added in as it caused issues with certain platforms, and I vastly underestimated how many setups could/would run into screen tearing with not offering V-Sync as an option. Regardless, it's in the game now and we will continue to support having it as an option moving forward! Improved Move Prediction The move predi…
- Input Improvement + Several Language / Localization Fixes - 29 July 2026
Hi guys^^ We found a lot of localization issues so I went ahead and fixed all of them. The following languages have been tweaked or fixed:Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, FrenchAdditionally, a small change was made that lets you talk to NPCs whilst holding a direction key. Before, you couldn't chat with NPCs without first letting go of any and all directional inputs for moving your player around. This change lets you cycle through an NPCs dialogue whilst doing so, removing the jarring inconvenience. That's all! Cheers~ - YanoOfficial Website:https://www.yanakorpgs.com/Official Discord:https://discord.com/invite/4YUaYNvVHD
- Battle Moves and Movement Rework + Visual Feedback - 15 July 2026
Hi! So... I couldn't help myself, lol. I did a cool thing recently and, just had to add it to Dokimon''Let's get right into this new update !!! Battle Moves and Movement ReworkSo the way that Dokimon move whilst in battles has been touched up, most noticeable in double battles. For example, when selecting a move, the Dokimon you're choosing a move for will now be still, to make it more obvious who you're picking a move for. Additionally, when hovering over a Dokimon (to pick who you will attack), that monster will be stilled too, and not moving, to make THAT more obvious as well. We also reworked how the moves are positioned. Before, the moves animations could go mis-positioned after a Dokimon death, making it animate off-centered, or occasionally animating in the middle of two Dokimon, which was confusing, and could make it look like your move hit the wrong monster. This has been fixed…
- The "Clunky" Update with Buttery Smooth Movement - 9 July 2026
Hi guys! We've gotten a lot of complaints of "clunkiness" regarding the game. Now, while a lot of these things are more or less unavoidable (or even intentional) with the game having heavy GBC inspiration, some of the clunkiness did come from hindsights.I did my best to fix as much of those as possible without taking away from GBC essence of the game, so let's get right in to what changed recently and in this update. The Main Thing: Movement ReworkMovement has been completely reworked to allow new inputs to push you towards that direction, even if you're still holding the previous direction key. For example: holding right and moving right, and then, whilst still holding right key, holding up for 2-3 grid spaces, before letting go of up (and continuing right). It's a bit hard to explain but ... you'll find it's probably more what you're used to from other games if you jump in and give it a…
- Minor Bug Fixes + A Question: Should We Add a Short Tutorial ??? - 2 July 2026
Hi guys! We have gotten a plethora of new players with the Steam Summer Sale this year, and with this some bug reports. We just went in and fixed a few things with this patch and will likely push out a couple more over the span of this week.Thankfully there hasn't been anything major, so we're just patching small things. If you find anything that feels weird or gets you stuck, please report it here or on our Discord and I will fix it or try to improve it if possible. Now to the Question...Should we add little tutorial cards throughout the game? Originally, because I wanted the game to play and feel like games from my childhood, these "tutorials" were mostly intentionally put in text, to influence exploration.Meaning, game systems, secrets, tips, and tricks are found on signposts, by talking to NPCs, and just playing and exploring the game as you would. However, because this type of system…

- In-Battle Multi-Evolutions Enabled + Full options menu Rework and Bug Fixes - 27 May 2026
Hiyo! I'm here with some bug fixes and improvements for the demo, as well as some things I think a lot of people have really been looking forward to. Monster Evolutions ReworkThe way monsters evolve has been completely reworked, to allow party monsters not currently battling to evolve right in the battles. Because it's the full evolution sequence, you can even cancel their evolutions, for the people that want to have living dexes and the such. We don't currently have a way to permanently prevent monsters from evolving, however, if you bind them with an item, they won't evolve so... That's one method! Additionally, in the evolution rework, we added a queue, so you can evolve multiple monsters in a row. In the past, there was also a bug where sometimes the showing monster was incorrect. This has been fixed.Piano BGM FixesUntil now, the Piano BGM had some areas where the music would overla…
