• Demo Temporarily Removed - 3 June 2024

  Hi everyone, based on some initial feedback from the demo, I’m going to be taking it down temporarily while I work on a new version. The new version will include some bug fixes and generally making some parts easier. The biggest change is that since people seem to not like that the levels are long, I’ll be splitting the levels up into several shorter levels. The other big thing will be the addition of a casual mode. When selecting your file you will be able to select between casual and veteran mode. In casual mode, falling in pits will not result in instant death, instead, you will just lose some health and return to the last platform you were on. This along with some level design changes will hopefully alleviate some frustration in regards to the difficulty. A full write up of the changes can be expected once the new demo is up.

• Demo 3.0 Released - 25 May 2024

  Demo 3.0 is now Live! The new demo features a huge update in the amount of content over the previous demo. Even speed running the full demo will take around 45 minutes now. Whereas the previous demo featured only the first level (which is quite large by itself), there are now 3 levels of the same size, plus 3 optional hidden bonus levels which are shorter challenges. In each of the 2 new full levels you'll unlock another special ability as well. There are also 2 secret exits to find and a total of 35 prism shards to collect. There is a tracker added to the world map if you want to try to 100% the demo. A number of other cool things have been added including a world map, a save system with up to 10 file slots, a cut scene, more npcs, and a small shop. Numerous small adjustments have also been made compared to the previous demo but I won't list them all here.

  The demo has been updated with a number of changes: Big Changes Movement / Controls The way the somersault/roll ability worked in the previous version of the demo seemed to be a bit contentious, so now rather than rolling automatically when landing jumps, rolling is bound to a button instead. Double tapping forward to roll has also been removed. I personally quite liked the automatic rolling so it is still able to be toggled on in the control settings but it is toggled off by default. This should make Pixa easier to control for most players. Magic / Controls The way magic abilities are grouped has been changed. Previously there were spells that required you to press a dedicated button (quick spells), and spells that required you hold a different dedicated button (focus spells).
