- SONOKUNI - Gallery Update available now! - 16 July 2025
We're excited to announce a new free content update to SONOKUNI! From today, you can dig deep into a vast collection of artwork, design notes, and music tracks as part of a new Gallery Mode. Boot up the game from today and you'll find a new option down at the bottom of the main menu. Select that and you'll get to peek behind the curtain to see how the final designs of SONOKUNI came to be, from time-bending power-wielding protagonist Takeru, to the bizarre biotech beings she battles against in her quest for vengeance. Also included are a collection of music tracks from the game, giving players a chance to aurally drink in the eclectic Japanese hip hop tones of Don Yasa Crew while taking a break from the blood pressure-raising carnage of the main game. - SONOKUNI now 'Verified' for Steam Deck! - 2 May 2025
Hi everyone, A quick note to let you know that Valve has completed its assement of SONOKUNI on Steam Deck and as you can see it has come out of the other side of that process with a shiny new 'Verified' badge! - Dev update: New track, level transitions, localisations (and new launch window) - 21 October 2024
It’s been a busy few months but while we have a little bit of breathing room we wanted to jump into your Steam news feeds with a few updates on Sonokuni, both on development progress and some other news too. Summer adventures Over the Summer we took Sonokuni to Bitsummit, where it won two (!) awards: Excellence in Sound Design and VGC’s Media Highlight Award. Sonokuni was also playable on the show floor at Tokyo Games Show. We wanted, first and foremost, to send out a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who came along to the Kakehashi Games booths at these events and played the game. We’re just putting the finishing touches on the demo, which will showcase the first two levels, alongside a boss-fight-flavoured challenge for those skilled enough to reach the end.
