• There is a new King! - 5 June 2026

  Good Timezone everybody, this time I am here with the announcements from the end of this season! Ahmad has won King of Speed 2026, becoming the Undisputed Champion of SpeedRunners! After a brutal 9 hour tournament, Ahmad is officially the King of Speed as well as the Lord of Running. The prize pool for this tournament exceeded $800 thanks to all of your generous contributions, and is currently being processed by Matcherino for payouts. Supporter and participation badges are coming! Everyone who donated at least $5 to the prize pool was promised a badge in exchange for their support, and those have been handed out now! There is also a badge for each player that participated in King of Speed as a reward for being able to make it to such a high-level tournament. The map survey and contest are now both over!   Good Timezone everybody, it is time for voting to begin! Based off of last-minute submissions and some map corrections that enabled a map to just barely squeak by, we have a total of 7 maps in contention once again. If you would like to vote, please do so here. Votes will be collected until 1 week after this announcement, at which point both the curation results and the map survey results will take effect. • Map Contest Updates and More! - 15 May 2026

  Good Timezone everybody, I have some updates for you all! First and foremost, The King of Speed Matcherino is up! This prize pool will be going entirely to the competitors in the 2026 King of Speed tournament. Any individual that donates at least $5 will receive this year's supporter badge, provided that they contact me to redeem it (you can message me through Discord or Steam). Additionally, I will be personally matching up to $200 in contributions to the prize pool. Unfortunately we do not have the single-click free donation this year (trying to get that set up is a main reason why this announcement is late), though that may change at some point prior to the tournament. • It has been 10 years! - 19 April 2026

  It has now been exactly 10 years since SpeedRunners officially released on Steam. To celebrate, the KOSTV team has some announcements that we would like to make! King of Speed TV Streams Coming to YouTube! Starting with the monthly coming on the 25th, we intend to start multistreaming so that tournaments can be watched live on YouTube in addition to Twitch. This means that VODs will now be much more up to date, although featured matches from the tournaments will still be delayed. The Curated Map Survey Is Underway! As it has been 6 months since the last one, we are once again running a survey to determine which maps should be present in the curated workshop list, which allows them to be played in ranked lobbies and tournaments.   Happy Holidays Everyone! We have some quick final end of year things we wish to share with you all. The following Maps are being added to the curated workshop playlist: Club House, Coastline, Dragon City, Granary, and Surfing in the Oasis, Oasis, and Void. Aztec and Titan are being removed. As per the will of the Lord of the Runs (ahmad), he has decreed that SpeedCityNights will remain in this map pool. We are done for 2025! We will see you at the first KOSTV Seasonal event in 2026! Make sure to join the SR community discord and watch out for announcements to know when this will happen. We have some exciting plans for you for 2026.   Over 90 people filled out the survey! Thank you so much. This post is a high-level summary of the results and the changes we’re making based on your feedback. If you have questions or want to discuss the data in more detail, please use this steam discussion thread. This was an amazing event and we cannot wait to do this again on May 30th for The King of Speed 2026.
