Hello again, operatives! Today we have some grave news. We are disbanding the studio. We’ve been fighting a hard battle for quite some time, but as of today we lost. And here is why. Our studio began as a group of several enthusiasts, people dreaming and striving to create something new and exciting. We could never compare in budget with AAA-studios, but didn’t try to win any pity points and worked as hard as we could. For the last year we’ve been working without breaks, leaves and sometimes even on weekends. The Burst’s concept was extremely ambitious, almost unfeasible for a small indie-studio. At least we tried to bring it to life. The most frequently asked questions we received were “Why didn’t you postpone the release?” or “Why didn’t you go for the early access?” We didn’t have a choice. At all. Greetings operatives! The Burst update 1.0.42 is finally live! We got a bunch of cool stuff for you! What kinds of stuff, exactly, you might ask? Well, many of you were waiting for them, and THEY FINALLY ARRIVED! The highlights of our show... give a round of applause tooooo... SPRINT BUTTON and JUMP BUTTON! Woooo! We have also brought you a whole ton of weapon updates, movement fixes, and we have also eradicated a bunch of those pesky bugs that have been roaming around Damag! Greetings operatives! I come bearing great news! We now have full bHaptics support! That's right! Now you can feel everything that poor Hornet feels! Getting shot, falling into the abyss, blowing up, crashing your mirage into a ton of explosives! Sounds like an amazing experience! Right? Oh, and by the way, there's a whoooole lot of other things we cooked with this new version! One of those things are... ACHIEVEMENTS!!! That's right, they're finally here! Also we've done some requested enemy improvements and much, MUCH more! As it turned out, things were a little more complicated than we first thought. We have also decided to add a few extra features to make the new game mode burst, so there's nothing to fret about! Operatives! I’m pleased to finally announce that the Visual Update for THE BURST is now LIVE! Hope you didn’t have to wait for too long! To sweeten the pill a 25% discount is available starting today, October 4th, 10 AM PDT and will last for 14 days! As we promised, almost every aspect of the game was enhanced in one way or another: gameplay, level art, graphics and effects! Hello everyone. I've noticed a lot of talk about mirages lately, so why not delve deeper into them and how they came to be? If you ask one of our programmers, who basically created the one and only reverse trike from scratch, he would probably say something like: “I was told to do it and I did it. And it slaps.” For serious though — At first we actually wanted to implement a vehicle that would glide across the sand using a sail, but ended up going for a reverse tricycle, since it was more... versatile. We began with a bunch of prototypes with a different number of wheels, casings - some of them looked like a full on buggy with four wheels, metal roof and multiple seats. We got rid of the roof, additional wheels (at some point the seats followed), and we even had some prototypes that looked like sleds! Hello everyone! Been a while! Missed me? I'm here with an important announcement! The visual update we planned for September has been slightly postponed. Just until the first week of October rolls in. There are still some tests we need to run to make sure everything works, some minor hiccups here and there, but it's nothing to worry about. (already in the works) We are set on maintaining our visual style, however, the quantity and quality of expressive means will be significantly increased across all platforms. Visual improvement will affect several locations not only from an aesthetical standpoint, but also in terms of gameplay experience. Greetings operatives! Let’s have a little talk about all the current milestones of our Roadmap for The Burst. You’ll see what our team is up to right now and what to expect in the upcoming months. It’s a bit more complicated than just “we are fixing things” and expands on the whole “visual update” we are planning for this beloved child of ours. This time we'll cover... GENERAL TWEAKING AND TINKERING Critical bug fixes. Basically, what we were doing all this time anyway (and will keep on doing). That includes but isn’t limited to: Crashes, optimization stuttering, nasty visual and audio bugs. Going out of bounds, misplaced kill volumes and soft-locks. The AI in general will go through a lot of fine-tuning. As its improvement will be gradual, you’ll see some of it first-hand even before the content patch rolls out. Well, not all of you, so here are some answers: Will there ever be free story dlc / paid content? We are not planning any DLCs as separate 'downloadable content' yet. But as you may know we are planning at least two new game modes, which are still under wraps, although I'm pretty sure we'll have something to show you soon enough ;) What was your scariest moment when the game released? It wasn't particularly scary, more like very... embarrassing. We couldn't bring the game to its desired state in the given time. When jump button? In the past week we received a tremendous amount of feedback from all of you guys, and we are extremely grateful for it! We went through every message (literally) and tried to answer each of them to the best of our abilities. The first patch is FINALLY HERE bringing many fixes to both PCVR and Quest!
