- Early Access 0.13.16 - 18 September 2026
Welcome Pink Pony Clubbers (not in any way affiliated with Taylor Swift), here is a new build. Lots of changes here, so once again - I wouldn't advise trying to continue a save from a previous version unless seeing your computer suffer amuses you. FEATURES * The new updates screen, which is what you are looking at right now. I kept running out of space using the bulletin board! When we leave early access, this will be changed to an icon on the title screen so you don't have to skip past it every time. * If you're after a cloak completion run, you can now click the crematorium on the overhead town view screen. This will bring up who is held for cremation, how long until they get chargrilled and if their rump mark is still present. This is all null and void if you kill the Undertaker of course. * The town screen also now has an address book button. Click this, and it will show you all the…
- Early Access Update 0.13.15 - 22 July 2026
An early patch this week. I usually try to upload a new build at the weekend, but I've got STUFF on. However, as there are some fairly big bugs fixed in this update I decided to upload it sooner rather than later. FEATURES * More descriptive detail added to roster ponies when you get their stats up with middle mouse/shift. * The magician's shield was appearing before you knew who they were. As it seems to me the shield would be visible as soon as they activate it, when they do you will automatically know that's where they live. GAMEPLAY * The reporter will no longer report on a pony you murder or leave to die in your basement, as of course they wouldn't know. GRAPHICS * New background for collected cuties. * Couple of graphic splash screens added. BUGFIXES * Bugfix where the interviewer's last statement would end up on the bulletin board (and other related items). * Bugfix where the Bla…
- Early Access Update 0.13.14 - 18 July 2026
WHAT'S NEW IN WITHERSMONT We're still in early access, but it's getting there now. You may find bugs, placeholders and a lack of polish here and there. FEATURES * Roster pins. You can now make connections on the roster, click the pinbox at the bottom, choose a color and off you go. You can connect two photos together, or put down a post-it note and connect that to a specific horse. The pins will automatically change position if you shuffle the roster. This is handy for things like suspecting a spy or mule, or discovering two ponies are BFFs and wanting to remember that connection. * Still on the roster, if you use your middle mouse button or SHIFT you can now see the stats for the ponies in more precise numeric detail (if you know that info) as the bar charts are very approximate. Learning their general town friendship status will also allow you to see who else they like and dislike the…
- Update Early Access 0.13.13 - 4 July 2026
WHAT'S NEW IN WITHERSMONT nb: If you uploaded custom ponies in the Beta branch version, you'll find they have lost their mods! This is because I found an issue where if you had a modded Trixie (for example) loaded and made a new Trixie, the new one would spawn with the same mods which you might not want (as the mods were linked by the pony's name, which was a dumb way to do it), so now all modded ponies have a unique code that links only them to their mods. If you delete the old ones and then reinstall them from your workshop folder, they should work. FEATURES * If you win, depending on if you spared anyone one of the other two SynthV songs will play, to join Mai's death tune for when you are hanged. * A third pet is now enabled. Lord Schmooze is a creature of madness. Send him to spy on a pony and he will always learn their sanity as well as anything else - and damage it in doing so. A…
- Some Fixes for the Beta Branch - 26 June 2026
BETA BRANCH BUILDA few quick fixes for the Beta branch modpack test. There's already some super ponies from some cartoon or other on the Workshop you can try out. * Folder names have been made a bit more coherent. The folders now also tell you how many ponies are in that folder.* Bug where random ponies would generate with leftover modded bits fixed.* Bug that meant loaded ponies wouldn't occupy slot 40 fixed. It's been hugely helpful that some users have uploaded modded ponies I can test with. Many thanks to you!
- Modded Ponies in the Beta Branch - 26 June 2026
nb: There are some new features also included in the Beta branch, but some of them are not yet implemented fully, so don't be shocked if something doesn't appear to work! The beta is work in progress and for testing, but you can try out making and sharing unique ponies. To test out Cheerilee:1 - Subscribe to Miss Cheerilee, if you can't find her she's here: https://steamcommunity.com/id/catfoodmcfly/myworkshopfiles/?appid=20762602 - In Steam, right-click SH2, from the menu choose "Game Versions & Betas" and change to the Beta version. The game will reinstall.3 - in the Pony Editor go to SET and then IMPORT PONIES FROM STEAM WORKSHOP FOLDER4 - Find Miss Cheerliee's Folder, click on it and as if by magic everyone's favourite Schoolmarm should appear. Note that you can now add ponies to sets without them all being deleted anymore, she will just drop into the first empty slot she finds.5 - Y…
- QuickFix 0.13.11.2 - 21 June 2026
A fix for the Black Screen issue. If you're having issues with the first person black screen, you can also fix it by going into OPTIONS and fiddling with the MOUSE SENSITIVITY slider.
- 0.13.1.1 hotfix - 21 June 2026
Some players reported going into first person gave a black screen. I believe this has now been fixed, it works on my laptop now which did the same thing let me know if it still causes you issues! Also a couple of minor flag bugs fixed while I was at it... * The Arsonist's burn count now resets correctly * Ditto for the Naturalist's animals running away.
- 0.13.11 Quickfix - 21 June 2026
Apologies gang, there was some curious issue that meant the WAD wasn't unpacking which lead to missing images/crashes. It should now be fixed, so if you're still having this issue please wait for Steam to update the game again or uninstall/reinstall.
- UPDATE 0.13.11 - 21 June 2026
* THIS UPDATE WILL CRASH THE GAME IF YOU CONTINUE FROM A PREVIOUS SAVE * WHAT'S NEW IN WITHERSMONT FEATURES * The game now has a Steam Leaderboard so you can see how your total kills stat matches up against the world. * You can view your all-time stats from the options screen. Note that these will only begin to be counted up from this update, with the exception of your total murders which should still be recorded beginning from a couple of updates ago. * Mouse sensitivity and Field of View for FPP mode can now be adjusted on the options screen. You can fine tune the FOV during FPP mode with the square bracket keys. * You can now define the color palette on the Logo Maker. Right click a colour swatch to alter it, this does not affect colors already on the board so in theory you can use the entire spectrum. The Flood tool can also fill in diagonally as well, click the I icon on the logo m…
- 0.13.10 Hotfix - 8 March 2026
Hello! Quick hotfix uploaded to correct the kitchen meat bug. Be sure your window title says "Early Access 0.13.10 =kitchen hotfix="!
- Update 0.13.10 - 8 March 2026
A smaller update, there's a few fixes but the primary addition is the use of the Steam cloud to save your game. WHAT'S NEW IN WITHERSMONT FEATURES * The game now saves your current progress using the Steam cloud, so you can carry on your game on a different machine. It still saves locally too, in case that's unavailable. GRAPHICS (Mostly restoring effects and textures lost after removing the AGK shader pack) * The cake's plates have their texture back. * The Magician's magical shield has been re-jigged and only shows up at night as originally intended. * Windows restored. * Recipe book highlight effect restored. BUGFIXES * Ponies with mismatched tails and manes should now render correctly (or incorrectly, if you know what I mean). * Seed edit box no longer shows up on the pet select screen. * "Quit Baking" button no longer appears on top of the options screen. * Bug where the Disciple's…
- Hotfix 0.13.9 - 7 March 2026
An issue found where seeds in the live version weren't generating the same town. This should now be fixed.
- Update 0.13.8 now live - 6 March 2026
Welcome to SLAUGHTER HORSE 2 We're still in early access so you might find bugs, placeholders and things awry! *Please note, there's a lot of changes in this update which means if you continue a game from the previous build, there may be unpredictable results!* *Also note! AGK's shader pack DLC made some pretty effects but I've decided it just causes way too many issues for too many players so it has been ENTIRELY removed. So things might not look as shiny as before, I'll see if I can find a way to improve this with vanilla AGK later. For now though, I think it's more important that the game just works for as many people with as few crashes as possible. You might find things I missed have no textures. I have noted myself that since removing the shader pack, things do run much better as it added a LOT of weight to the game - let me know how you get on. WHAT'S NEW IN WITHERSMONT FEATURES…
- Early Access update - 0.13.7 - 22 February 2026
Welcome to SLAUGHTER HORSE 2 We're still in early access so you might find bugs, placeholders and things awry! Steam's Horse Fest has boosted the game considerably. It's sold more copies during Horse Fest than all the time since it was released put together. Welcome, new Horse Hackers! WHAT'S NEW IN WITHERSMONT * Music and sound effects have had an overhaul in how they work. It might even kill that dreaded loss-of-all-sound bug, who knows! * I've seen people making some nice custom logos, so I've given that a boost. You now have more options to move text, use different fonts, undo many steps instead of just one, use a flood tool and you can export your logos to save and download them from the Workshop. * To import workshop ponies, you no longer need to drop them into a special folder - the game should now look directly into your Steam workshop folder and display all the folders it finds…

- New Beta branch for testing new features, etc. - 20 November 2025
Hello. There is now a beta branch for SH2, so I can try stuff out for the intrepid without risking stuff on the default game branch. To try a beta version, right click SH2 in your library list, then "properties", "Betas" and choose a beta. Currently there is only the first one - 20,11,2025(This has only just been added, so if now beta option is showing you might have to quit and restart Steam) This build 20.11.2025 is an attempt to see if the main game can be made more stable, including losing general crashes and avoiding the loss of all sound bug. It also uses an advanced renderer which may help with game speed. The trade off for this build is that *no Steam plugin versions will currently function*. This means no Steam achievements or statistics. I'm trying to see if it's possible to get around this, but if not it may be I have to give up Steam functions IF it means the game works more r…
- Some more fixes - 13 November 2025
Hello! I wasn't planning to update quite so soon, but there's a couple of fixes with this one that especially impact new players, so here it is. GAMEPLAY: The Visitor will now block you as she should if she visits. However, it plays out like a free cake shop invitation - you will have the option to deal with her as you see fit.BUGFIX: Fixed an issue where trying to design a shop logo for the first time gave you a missing file error.BUGFIX: Fixed an issue where the game window would open incorrectly, preventing you from getting past the opening update screen.ATTEMPTED BUGFIX: All sound effects have been converted from ogg to wav files. I'm hoping this might prevent the complete loss of sound bug, so let me know how that goes either way.TTFN=Catfood=
- Community Items Released - 12 November 2025
Greetings, horse people. Slaughter Horse 2 now has community items available. I've used the maximum limit of 15 cards which will make crafting badges kind of a trek I know, but it so happened to be the size of the mane cast so it seemed churlish to leave anyone out! Emojis, badges and backgrounds too. Enjoy. =Catfood=
- 0.13.6 - 11 November 2025
Hello, Horse Hackers! I've just uploaded a very small update that mostly fixes a couple of workshop issues. CUSTOM SETS: When starting the game, you can now swap positions of ponies in the sets with the right mouse button. This is useful if you have a big pony set, but want to play a 20 pony game with specific members of the cast.CUSTOM SETS: There was a small issue with the QR codes that meant some ponies wouldn't load. This should be fixed, so now all 40 of Peezer's magnificent Ponyville Pack will load!BUGFIX: If you select a house and then go into FPP view, the house will be deselected. This also prevents an error connected for getting too close to the Lookout or attacking things you decided not to.BUGFIX: Made the initalising window center itself.
