- Let's Discuss: 1.0 Dungeon Reset! - 16 September 2026
Hey everyone!I wanted to get your thoughts on something I've been considering for the 1.0 release. With more and more major gameplay changes going into 1.0, it's becoming increasingly apparent that Quest Master is turning into a bit of a versioned mess. We're talking about pretty fundamental changes: 3D physics, players being able to exist in different rooms and floors at the same time, seeing and simulating the floor below through pits, the full inventory system, and quite a bit more.At this point, these changes go beyond what I think can reasonably be handled by simply version-gating individual features. Maintaining compatibility with every Early Access dungeon is becoming increasingly complicated and unintuitive, especially when 1.0 will hopefully bring in a lot of new players who shouldn't have to worry about which version of Quest Master a dungeon was built for.So, I've been thinking…

- Version 0.11.21.11: Sticky Blade Trap/Elemental Movement Fix - 30 July 2026
Physics This is kind of like a small patch, however I had fixed this issue today in the development branch of the game, and figured to backport this fix for the public version, since it has been a major annoyance for many people! Blade Traps and Elementals now reliably follow at the walls. Game Updates And yes, the game is still not dead! We're getting closer to completing 1.0 by the day. Stay tuned! What's Coming? It's hard to show off anything without spoilers, however this might be nice: A lot more NPC variety is coming to maker mode in 1.0! You can place them freely in your dungeon, configure their walk behavior, and extended dialogue capabilities allows you to make them say more than ever.

- Life Sign: Game is NOT Dead - 4 April 2026
Hey everyone! We've recently gotten a review claiming the game is dead. This is NOT the case.We are actively pursuing completing the 1.0 release of Quest Master! That's why content updates have slowed down considerably. We have great news to share on that very soon, AND we're also releasing a small new content update in the coming days, I'm sure some of you could imagine what that's about.I hope everyone can understand this content update drought, but unfortunately we only have so much budget and I can't split myself to work on porting, 1.0 content and early access content at the same time.We appreciate your patience greatly though! 1.0 will be far greater than any of you expect.Alright, just wanted to get that quick word out to everyone.~Julian
- 0.11.20 Ticks Onto Early Access - 26 January 2026
Duration Property We've added a new hugely impactful property, duration! You can select from a large amount of different durations. You can add the duration property to many different objects, here's a few examples: The duration property of moving platforms determines how long they will pause when hitting an obstacle. By setting it to 0, you can make them immediately continue moving! Torches will turn off after the duration again. Door Checkpoint Property You can now designate doors to work as implicit checkpoints! Simply walking through them will act as a checkpoint. Just one click away. Trapdoor Direction As per community feature request, you can now change the visual direction of trapdoors! This will look better in cases where you have a lot of them. Make Chest Always Open Another community feature request: You can now make chests already opened from within maker mode! This way you c…
- 0.11.19 Replaces Early Access - 9 January 2026
It's modding update time! You can now override base game assets officially using an override mod. This can be used for total conversion mods, like changing out all base game art and audio for those from another game. You could even use it to experiment with custom themes, although it might be better to wait for proper theme modding. You can replace textures, audio files, and languages! This works for any mod by the way, not just the base Quest Master mod. Overriden assets must match exact relative folder location, as you can see in the picture above They must also be placed in a root folder called Override The next folder will be the ID of the mod you want to replace assets from The rest is all the assets Note that since they only override assets, these mods won't be bundled automatically with dungeons you upload. This is by design, since there will be total conversion mods you want to…
- Version 0.11.18 Snaps Onto Early Access - 6 January 2026
Pixel Perfection I'm sure many of you have noticed both weird gaps and seams appearing sometimes between tiles, and also possibly shimmering on certain resolutions when the camera moves. This all stemmed from hardware inaccuracies when working with floating point numbers. This is finally fixed now! This means no more ugly lines. In addition, you can change the "Pixel Snap" mode to your desired liking to achieve the effect you want. "Objects" causes all objects (like enemies and the player) to be snapped to pixel positions, while still maintaining smooth camera movement! A compromise between retro and modern. "Objects & Camera" causes both objects, but also the camera position to be snapped to pixels. This also implicitly disables the smooth camera movement, since it looks too jarring with it. For retro enthusiasts and sub-pixel haters! Debug Tool Bindings The debug tools are now unbound…
- 0.11.17 Rides Onto Early Access - 24 December 2025
Papa Claus is back in town! Take your chance to get two event-exclusive pets! Memory Reduction and Mod Load Speed Optimizations We've implemented significant memory optimizations into the game, which basically boil down to loading required assets asynchronously on demand. This has brought down memory usage in some cases over 50%, and mods that utilize a lot of music and sounds will basically load instantly now. Happy Holidays from the Quest Master Team

- 0.11.15.7 - Bringing Back The Bow! - 17 December 2025
Hey y'all! Sorry for the long duration of the rollback. There were some significant technical issues I had to fix, but it's finally completed now. In that time I also added a few new quality of life changes, so let's get into them! Shadows Can Now Use The Bow Quite the challenge! The Maker Mode Cursor Waves Through Grass Just a little game feel. Duplex Bow Pattern Changed To Bursts The duplex bow now shoots a burst of two arrows instead of shooting them in parallel. Of course, you can still create a modded bow that retains the original logic of it. Arrow burst! A possible modded bow. Debug Hotkeys F1: Quick Reload Local Mods In Maker Mode (Excludes workshop mode, is destructive, use with caution) F2: Screenshot (Saved to Screenshots folder in game installation directory) F3: Toggle UI Visibility (Could be neat for screenshots!)
- Quick Temporary Rollback of 0.11.15: Game Crash Due to Mods - 10 December 2025
We're rolling back the newest content update really quickly to figure out a major issue of people's game crashing on startup when they have too many mods installed. We didn't find this in QA, apologies for that. The patch will be rolled out ASAP. Thanks guys, Julian
- 0.11.15 Is Drawn And Shot Onto Early Access! - 10 December 2025
🏹 Bow & Arrow Update + Holiday Castle Town!Today, we’re releasing one of the community’s most requested tools: The Bow & Arrow! 🏹Plus… Castle Town is now fully decorated for the season. WHAT'S NEW? Location TitleThe new location titles give some visual flair to entering new areas! Common for many games, including Zelda, and it was missing from Quest Master for sure. It gives a lot of polish. The location title in Castle Town.In dungeons, it will use the name you give it!Bow & ArrowThe last new tool before 1.0, and easily the most anticipated, is finally here: the Bow & Arrow! It's by far the most polished tool in terms of its gameplay feel, and it's super fun to use. Quivers determine the type of arrow you shot (wooden, fire, ice, and spectral), and your bow determines how you shoot the arrow itself and in what pattern. Let's get into what types of bows there are! Wooden BowA simple b…
- 0.11.14.29 - Happy Birthday, Danielle! - 21 November 2025
A surprise update - with kind regards to Danielle, a beloved member of our community and Discord moderator! Happy Birthday Danielle from the QM team and especially myself, Julian! As a small gift, we implemented your Auto-Coffin suggestion! The Auto-Coffin automatically revives a player upon death! It does not need external attacks to do so. The default coffin got a makeover! Enjoy your birthday a,Danielle - and everyone, enjoy this new dungeon part!
- Player Defense Reduction + New Focus Type - 10 October 2025
Player Defense Reduction Previously, the player had a base defense of 0.5 which halved all incoming damage. We've been getting increasing feedback that the game is too forgiving in terms of damage which results in people spamming their dungeons with enemies and traps. As of version 0.11.14.20, that base defense has been removed. The change is versioned, meaning old dungeons are unaffected. Please let us know if this change is good or if we should revert it! New Focus Type A new focus type has been added which will make the object itself be ever only focused once, as opposed to each individual action. The new type in the context menu. Stepping off the pressure plate does NOT cause the door to be focused.
- Use Tornado Rod Airborne - 7 October 2025
You can now use the Tornado Rod while in the air - this should allow for some cool new tricks and puzzles! You can still only use one at a time and cannot cheese the system.

- Advanced Dojo Minigame Difficulty Rebalancing - 28 July 2025
Dojo Minigame Difficulty We've gotten a new negative review stating that the third difficulty of the dojo mini game is still too unapproachable and difficult. I just did another rebalancing of it, reducing difficulty and spacing out the timing of all the spawned logs. New Update When? I know everyone of you is eagerly looking forward to new content. We've made the conscious decision to focus on the remaining single player content of the game until 1.0 releases and thus stopped the plethora of content updates we've been releasing before, which we are still adhering to. However, there's some great news coming soon, so look forward to that! In the meantime there will be regular bug patch fixes again of course, and balancing patches like this one. ~ Julian
