Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey, both formerly of the now-defunct EA outfit Visceral Games , co-founded Sledgehammer Games in 2009. The studio quickly built a name for itself working in Activision's Call of Duty universe, first as co-developer (with Infinity Ward) on Modern Warfare 3 , and then in the lead on Advanced Warfare and WWII . - Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare trailer teases exo zombie finale - 4 August 2015
The zombie Descent level is included in the final Advanced Warfare DLC pack, Reckoning. It concludes the Advanced Warfare zombie saga that's put stars Bill Paxton, Rose McGowan, Jon Bernthal, Bruce Campbell and John Malkovich through increasingly silly versions of zombie hell. In this one the zombies wear exoskeletons and can rocket boost up to your position. They have other "enhanced abilities" too, but that's unlikely to save them from the new Trident Reflected Energy Weapon, which looks like it's been beamed in straight from Unreal Tournament. In a good way. Reckoning is out today on consoles, and there will probably be the usual month-long wait for it to arrive on PC. This is the final fling for Advanced Warfare, but series fans can look forward to Black Ops 3, which has its own very strange zombie mode featuring Jeff Goldblum and Ron Perlman.

The season for major blockbuster video game releases is fast approaching. You can tell, because here's news of the final Call of Duty DLC pack for the year. To neatly tie off Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare before Black Ops 3 arrives, the Reckoning DLC pack will release some time "soon" with four new maps. That's the trailer above. All maps are built around the Exo Grapple mechanic, though if you'd prefer not to play in matches with that feature you still can. Meanwhile, the final chapter in the "Exo Zombies saga" will feature in the form of Descent, which stars the likes of Bill Paxton, Rose McGowan, John Malkovich and Bruce Campbell.
