- [ Map guide ] Inferno One - 18 September 2026
The lava is a weapon On most maps your only variables are the enemy team and the terrain. Here you have a hazard that can work for or against you depending on who is paying attention. It punishes bad positioning even when nobody is shooting at you, and it cuts both ways: you can use it offensively by pushing or baiting enemies into it, turning a bad trade into a free kill. The team that treats the lava as a tool wins more engagements here than the team with better aim alone. The flow is alive, too. During a battle, it advances toward the Airport, so the ground you trusted early on can turn against you later. It is a hazard you learn to read, then learn to use. Map Layout Inferno One map layout: Town Area (yellow), Lava Bridges (purple), Right Flank (green), Left Flank (blue). Town Area: the center of the map, filled with buildings. It offers good cover for contesting or defending the mi…
- [ Experimental test ] Testing a New Module Library in LSP #39 - 15 September 2026
EXPERIMENTAL TEST. Everything below comes from an active test build. Nothing here is final: it may change, get delayed, or be canceled outright. In our efforts to improve the game with you as a community, here's a look at new changes being tested in the Lodestar Program this week: a rework of how vehicle modules work, running as a test in LSP #39. The tiers, effects, and numbers below are all test values, and this rework could still change or be canceled before it reaches the live game. The aim of this change is to give you more module variety and a more consistent, structured way to learn what modules do and build your vehicles around them. What is the Lodestar Program? LSP, short for Lodestar Program, is HEAT's name for this kind of early test: a closed program where we test upcoming updates and experimental changes. It runs on its own client, every few weeks, and needs a special invi…

- [ AGENT DEEP DIVE ] Ember and Her Tanks - 8 September 2026
Who is Ember? Ember is a Defender. She can absorb and hold damage to the same standard as any other vehicle in the class, but what sets her apart is the area control and crowd control layered on top of that durability. Her Trait lets her physically shove obstacles and enemy vehicles out of the way, and her ultimate can deny sections of the map. Put simply, Ember is a Defender who controls space: she decides where the fight happens and forces the enemy to deal with it. Ember, HEAT's Season 2 Defender. Grand Slam Ember's ultimate calls in a large unguided bomb delivered by aircraft. The bomb penetrates intervening objects and detonates underground, producing a seismic blast wave. Once you fire it, colored smoke marks the target location as a warning, then an aircraft passes overhead at high speed, giving anyone in earshot a moment's notice before the bomb lands. The bomb punches through a…
- [ AGENT DEEP DIVE ] Gambit and His Tanks - 4 September 2026
Who is Gambit? Gambit is a Defender who turns punishment into a weapon. If you're new to HEAT, an Agent is the character behind the wheel, and each Agent brings a signature Trait and Ultimate to their own vehicles (see the Game Guide for the basics). For Gambit, that kit is built around two ideas: reinforcing allies with a team-wide Ultimate, and converting the damage he takes into a shutdown on whoever dealt it. As Gambit, getting shot at is progress toward locking someone out of their kit, not a failure state. Gambit, HEAT's Season 2 Defender. Iron Curtain Gambit's Ultimate deploys a swarm of drones that buffs every ally within 100 meters. Allies in range get: Temporary HP: 1,750, draining at 50 per second (fully depleted after 35 seconds) Track max HP: doubled Track regeneration: increased by 2 points per tick Shell screen max HP: doubled Resistance to blast, fire, radiation, shock,…
- Try the New 20v20 Mode and Earn Twitch Drops - 2 September 2026
Season 2 is live Season 2 is live, with two things to dive into this week. 20v20 is a new mode built for large-scale combat, open to play this weekend. It's 20 players a side, 40 tanks in one battle: a format HEAT hasn't tried before. Season 2 Twitch Drops also start now, with a launch-week camo up for grabs just by watching HEAT on Twitch. Get in and find out how a 40-player fight actually plays out, and help shape where the mode goes from here. How to jump in this weekend 20v20 opens on Friday, September 4 and runs through Sunday, September 6, playable daily from 13:00 to 20:00 UTC. It runs as its own mode, the same way Plant/Defuse does, so you won't find it in Quick Match. Open the mode selector and pick the "20 VS 20" tile to load in. Pick 20 VS 20 from the mode selector to jump in. This is the first time we're opening this mode to the public, so your feedback carries real weight.…
- Fire & Ash: HEAT's Biggest Season Yet is Here - 2 September 2026
Season 2: Fire & Ash Arrives September 2Season 2, Fire & Ash, brings a new Defender Agent to HEAT. Gambit arrives with two new vehicles built around disruption and battlefield support. Alongside him, a new volcanic map, Inferno One, puts two factions on a collision course over a town smothered by burning lava, and Ember gains a new flamethrower vehicle, the M1150 Breacher.Read the full Update 1.2 patch notesMeet GambitBorn to rebuild the terms of a fight, Gambit turns his allies' hulls, tracks, and shields into problems the enemy solves twice, and every hit that lands on him becomes a signal he traces straight back to its source. Where other Agents defend a position, Gambit defends the whole team and makes attacking him a mistake in itself. \ Feedback Loop Whenever Gambit takes damage, the attacker is hit with Jamming equal to the damage dealt, more if they got in close, and even more i…
- The Quality-of-Life Changes Coming in Season 2 - 28 August 2026
Season 2 lands September 2 with Patch 1.2.0 and, alongside everything else in the box, it brings a healthy batch of quality-of-life improvements. Some come straight from your feedback and playtest reactions. Others are polish we wanted to ship because they make every battle a little better. Here's what's coming, plus a taste of what we're working on beyond launch.Know your effective range at a glanceIf you fire AP, APHE, or Canister shells, distance matters: past your gun's effective range, penetration starts to drop, and for some shells the damage goes with it. Those numbers have always lived in the vehicle stats, but in the middle of a fight it's hard to tell exactly where the line sits. With Season 2, your reticle will show the distance to whatever it's pointed at. For AP, APHE, and Canister shells, the distance reading will also be color-coded to your shot's effectiveness: green whi…
- Season 2: Fire and Ash Is Almost Here - 26 August 2026
Meet Gambit Gambit is a Defender, though his defense is a bit different. Where other Defenders hold a position, Gambit makes it costly for the other team to attack him and his allies.Agent Trait: Feedback Loop Every shell that lands on Gambit becomes Jamming aimed straight back at whoever fired it, and the closer they were when they shot, the worse it goes for them. Ram him and it gets worse still.Agent Ultimate: Iron Curtain A swarm of repair drones sweeps over every ally in range, snapping broken tracks back together and stacking temporary hull and shield protection on top. A squad seconds from collapsing becomes one the enemy has to break all over again. Three Vehicles Join the FightGambit arrives with two vehicles that solve the same problem from opposite directions, and Ember picks up a third that solves it by driving through the wall. T-72SH (Gambit) M60A3E2 (Gambit)M1150 Breacher…
- [ BREAKDOWN ] How Monetization Works in HEAT - 25 August 2026
World of Tanks: HEAT doesn't charge an entry fee. Downloading is free, playing is free, and you can progress through the game without spending a single HEAT-Coin, the premium currency bought with real money. Keeping a live game running costs money, though, so some conveniences carry a HEAT-Coin price, and every one of them is optional. If you read our last Breakdown on how visibility and spotting work, you've seen how a fight plays out from the inside. The one before it, on how stats work, covered what your vehicle's stats actually mean. This one steps back from the battlefield to the systems around it: the Battle Pass, boosters, and cosmetics. New to HEAT? The Game Guide covers the basics. The Principles Every purchase in HEAT is optional, and the mechanisms around those purchases work the same way for everyone. A few rules apply to everything below:Every reward in Season 1's Battle Pa…
- World of Tanks: HEAT | Season 1 Soundtrack - 21 August 2026
Relive the battles of Lost Eden with Season 1's soundtrack and main theme: calm and soothing, but suffused with an almost intangible danger. Two additional versions of the theme slow it down and add undercurrents of mystery and menace. https://store.steampowered.com/app/4873690/World_of_Tanks_HEAT__Season_1_Soundtrack/

- Dev Talk #2: The New Patch and What Comes Next - 11 August 2026
A lot has happened since the last Dev Talk. Artyom picks the thread back up: what shipped over the past few weeks, what the next patch brings, and what the team is building toward. In this video Season 1, in review Season 1 went live a few weeks ago with a new Agent, two tanks, a new Battle Pass, and a new post-match flow. It was a smoother release than our first, with fewer bugs and fewer crashes. The July improvements Test drive any tank before you commit to it, a Credits boost from new starter missions, Ultimate cinematics off by default, and cleaner replay storage. The detail is in the 1.1.1 patch notes. What is in the new patch Plant/Defuse, a fast round-based mode starting with weekend runs so we can gather your feedback and get it right. In-battle vehicle rotation returns, letting you switch to your Agent's other tank each time you respawn. Top 100 leaderboards arrive in a first…
- Weekend Chase #2: Solo and Squad Leaderboards, Every 4 Hours - 6 August 2026
How the weekend works Weekend Chase #2 runs from Friday, August 7 to Monday, August 10, 2026, 12:00 UTC to 12:00 UTC, the full weekend split into eighteen 4-hour time windows. Each window opens two fresh leaderboards, one for solo battles and one for squad battles, so solo players are only ever racing other solo players. Only PvP Quick Match battles count. Every leaderboard ranks players by wins, with total damage dealt breaking ties. Finish in the Top 25 of either leaderboard and you earn the reward for that placement. If you finish Top 25 on both the solo and squad leaderboard in the same window, you still earn a single reward set, not two. Placing in a Top 25 once retires you from every later leaderboard, solo and squad both, for the rest of the event, so a fresh field competes for each new window. That is deliberate: it spreads placements across more players over the course of the f…
