- Development Update #12 - 1 October 2026
Hey Everyone! In this Dev Update, our main focus is on the continued progress of Outskirts, with a closer look at the docks and how the area is coming together. We’re also showcasing the newly introduced food and drink systems, new weapons, overhauled weapon and ambient audio, improvements to inventory management, and an overhauled GCPS tablet designed to make navigating and managing information smoother. Alongside additional optimizations and general improvements, we’ll also share more progress from across our new level Outskirts, and reveal new information about the next boss coming to Incursion Red River. New Outskirts Progress Docks The Docks are a smaller point for smuggling and distribution of items around the affected area of the Red River Delta. However, the UICS have a close watch and will ensure they know all that comes in and out. This strip has a blend of close quarters and…

We’ve made improvements to AI, added new utility items, and progressed on both Outskirts and Delta. We’re aware of the areas you all are looking forward to seeing more of, so we wanted to give you a preview of where things are currently at. We’ll also be going over some quality of life changes, smaller gameplay improvements, the new M14 rifle, and a few other improvements that should help make the overall experience feel better across the board. Hey Everyone! We wanted to give you a quick look at what we’ve been working on for the next update. The first development update for our next big content update is focusing on our new map as well as several smaller and bigger QoL updates that hopefully help with polishing up the overall gameplay experience along with features that have been requested by the community for a long time. New Map Outskirts Next up in worldbuilding, we’re ready to introduce Outskirts as some of you might’ve seen from the deployment view. However, Outskirts geographically is set on the southern shoreline of the Red River Delta so its visual position will be updated. Outskirts is the first environment to introduce multi-faction gameplay. The area is a hotzone with the IGC at the airfield and UICS in the main boulevard, with the VLF fragmented in the jungle between. We’re looking to reach a more modern feeling w…

- Development Update #9 - AI - 18 December 2025
Hey Everyone! In this episode we wanna spotlight the latest ai changes mainly driven by our new AI programmer, better known as Solarint. You may know him from the AI mod for SP-Tarkov called “SAIN”. Before we start, we want to get ahead of any possible confusion around the use of the term “AI”. When we talk about AI or bots, this has nothing to do with LLMs or any of the hype around “AI”. This is a normal game system inspired by decades of work from other developers. The point of this dev-log is to list the major new mechanics being introduced and explain the reasoning and goals for each system. So, let's talk about what we’ve been working on for the past few months. In 1.3 we will introduce the first version of RedFor - an AI system for all bots in Incursion Red River. Shoutout to our discord community who suggested the fantastic name! Overview AI behavior has been completely rebuilt.…

So much has been worked on and added, as well as some brand new story elements in our first phase of story telling to the player. Our main focus however was on the new map. AI improvements have also been made thanks to our talented Lead AI Developer, Solarint. And, of course, overall engine improvements and optimization as we look to upgrade from Unreal Engine 5.4 to 5.6. New Map - Delta The previous Dev Update featured the Industrial Zone of Delta, and now we’re proud to present the other half of the map; Featuring dense urban residential zones, sprawling rice fields and terraces, and faction outposts in key chokepoints. We’…
