Hi all, and welcome to our 4th development update for Nina Aquila: Legal Eagle, Chapter IV: Sacred Feathers! From the start of the year, a big part of our focus has been on the subgame for Chapter IV, which will occupy similar prominence to the card game in Chapter II, or the driving segments of Chapter III. We really wanted to push to make this something unique and special within the RPG Maker space, and we're really happy with how that has come together. Unfortunately, just like in prior chapters, the nature of the subgame is tied to the story of the chapter, meaning that we don't have any screenshots right now. However, the subgame is "feature complete", now only needing content to be added as we progress through working on the rest of the game. Development continues on NALE Chapter IV, so we're here for a quick update about progress, and some info about changes to Steam's developer pages and how that affects us. Written plan is nearly complete! This is a big one; the written plan for NALE Chapter IV is nearly complete! We suspect, for some of you, that might seem anticlimactic (like you were expecting that would've been over ages ago). Being somewhere between adventure game and visual novel, the written plan for a NALE chapter is a huge part of development; easily half the total work involved, at least in terms of the head-scratching, difficult stuff. It involves coming up with the top-level plan of all the case's twists and turns, alongside the emotional arcs for the player and the characters, but then, critically, breaking that down into all of the states we need for implementing the story. Hi all, happy new year and hope you've had a good start to 2023! Just wanted to update you all on the state of Chapter IV, and a few other bits and pieces. Chapter IV's written plan is in the late-stages now, with the plot essentially written, but with work to convert that into a development plan. Similar to how previous chapters were worked up, this involves breaking down the plot into a series of consecutive states, working out what assets are needed, and making sure the right evidence etc. exists at each point of the game. However, it's fair to say this process has "turned a corner" now and once this plan is complete, we can start map-making and scripting. Additionally, watch out for NALE Season One showing up in a few exciting places... Unfortunately that's all we can say right now, but keep an eye out!
