- Mark of the Ninja is like 2D Splinter Cell, and it's $6 - 16 June 2025
With games like Metal Gear Solid 5 and Splinter Cell, it's easy to think of stealth games as expansive, even bombastic affairs. The proliferation of open world stealth has meant an increased interest in massive toolsets and complex level layouts. That kind of clockwork design can be incredibly thrilling, just look at Hitman World of Assassination. But even the most elaborate games cannot forget the thrill of waiting in the shadows for the right moment to strike. Mark of the Ninja Remastered is a lean stealth classic because it focuses on the fundamentals. Read the rest of the story... - Mark Of The Ninja: Remastered leaps out of the shadows - 9 October 2018
I hardly ever revisit singleplayer games, so the fact that I’ve snuck all the way through Mark Of The Ninja two and a half times should tell you something. One and a half of those times actually involved just as much stabbing and shuriken tossing as sneaking, but shh. I say this because Mark Of The Ninja: Remastered has slunk out of the shadows, boasting prettier visuals, snazzier sound, and the extra items and level from the Special Edition DLC. If this one passed you by, I’d implore you to snap it up. It’s free if you already own the DLC, and discounted to 4 for owners of the non-fancy version. (more…)

- Mark of the Ninja: Remastered will be out on October 9 - 26 September 2018
The stealthy murder game Mark of the Ninja is really good , but it's also getting up there in years. To address that, Klei announced back in March that a remastered version was in the works and would be out later this year. Now we've got a more properly detailed look at what the updated version will deliver, and a release date of October 9 .  The new version of the game will include the Dosan's Tale DLC that was released for the 2013 Special Edition of the game, which adds a new character, level, items, and developer commentary. The graphics have been updated to support 4K resolution, the soundtrack has been remixed and remastered in 5.1 audio, and an unlockable New Game+ mode will add "new challenges and rewards."  Mark of the Ninja: Remastered will go for $20 on Steam , although you can pick it up at a 15 percent discount if you pre-purchase on Steam. Owners o…

Klei Entertainment have announced that Mark Of The Ninja: Remastered , the revamped rerelease of their rad stealth-o-murder-a-platformer from 2012, will launch on October 9th. It’ll boast high-resolution art and improved sound but still be the same fine game at heart, and accordingly won’t be expensive for folks who got Mark Of The Ninja on Steam the first time around. Klei have said that those who got its Special Edition DLC back in the day, which cost 4/$5, will get Remastered for free. If not, hey, original players can just pay an extra 4/$5 now to get Remastered. (more…)

- Superb stealth game Mark of the Ninja is getting remastered - 29 March 2018
Mark of the Ninja: Remastered will freshen up one of our all-time favorite stealth games later this year, developer Klei Entertainment announced.  A standout even among Klei Entertainment's sterling repertoire, Mark of the Ninja originally released in 2012, and while its cartoony art has aged well, Klei reckons it could do with a tune-up. So for the remaster, they're targeting "fully redone 4K visuals for both gameplay and cutscenes along with enhanced audio and new particle effects." The remaster will also come with the content from Mark of the Ninja's Special Edition DLC. That includes a new level, two new items, a suite of non-lethal takedowns, and a heaping helping of developer commentary.  Klei hasn't shared much else on the remaster, but in a follow-up tweet , the studio did note they're "working out reward paths for existing players depending on…

Having announced Mark Of The Ninja: Remastered for Nintendo Switch last week, Klei last night confirmed that yup, it is coming to PC too. Here, see this cinematic trailer. (more…)

- The best stealth games on PC - 13 December 2016
We’ve been playing stealth games for decades now, infiltrating military bases undetected, choking henchmen from behind and packing ventilation shafts with their naked unconscious bodies. But making sneaking fun isn’t easy. Full spatial awareness, how to communicate your visibility, and reliability of tools and AI behaviors are a hard thing to pin down. Luckily, these games pull it off without disturbing a single dust mote. They’re the best stealth games you can play on the PC right now, and what we recommend for players looking to get their super quiet feet wet.  Deus Ex Deus Ex ' sandbox structure made it a landmark study in open-ended design. The large environments and varied upgrade tree are designed to give you ways to solve tasks expressively, using imagination and forethought instead of a big gun. Nearly every stealth game on this list borrows someth…

If you haven’t been paying attention to Klei Entertainment’s creations for the past few years, you’re missing out on some of the best games in the world. All of the studio’s games are free to play on Steam this weekend , starting right now , with discounts should you wish to buy them after having a taste. …
