• Reading the verse while playing. - 13 July 2024

  Thanks to all your suggestions, it is now possible to simply stop typing to think about the current verse. Simply stop typing and, after 5 seconds, the timer will immediately stop and be set back 5 seconds; text at the bottom of the screen will indicate this. Read the verse; think or pray about it. When you're ready, just start typing again as if you never stopped. It helps to check the option to "Show Underline" on the options menu so, when you're ready to start typing again, you know exactly where to start. This feature is also useful if you need to walk away from the computer for some reason. Isaiah 55:11 (WEB) ... • Idle text at level start. - 13 July 2024

  There is now text at the bottom of the screen when the level starts; this text states the timer is idle. Text will be removed at first keypress, when the timer starts. This is to provide confidence and, perhaps, a more relaxed gameplay experience. Jesus reigns supreme and holds all things together; trust Him.

  Removed the Achievement >256. All the other achievements remain, including Achievement = 256 and 255, etc. Jesus offers you peace.

  Summary: Fixed a bug that over-counts verses if repeated. Press 's' on options menu to Synchronize Dictionaries. Thanks for playing Word. God loves you like crazy!! Details: A previous update introduced a bug: Verses that have already been counted as typed (for book, Testament, Bible) were being counted again (if typed again); the result is the game could show you have typed more verses than there are for a book or testament if you had typed some of the verses more than once. This has been corrected. If you want the game to recount (correct) total verses for each book plus OT, NT and Entire Bible, simply hold down the 's' key while the options menu is active; this will display a "Synchronize Dictionaries" button which you can click to perform the recount and save the result. • Requested feature; Idle after 5 seconds - 1 April 2024

  Idle Mode Relax while playing now, with idle mode. After 5 seconds of no typing, timer is paused and set back to the time of the last keypress; resume typing to continue. You will see text at the bottom of the play screen to indicate idle mode is active. WPM Logic Now, the WPM is calculated every 5 characters (every word) and upon last character / level completion. Previously, WPM was calculated continuously. • Fixed bug (not showing all completed verses) - 13 August 2023

  Testament-selection and book-selection menus stopped showing updated numbers for the verses that the player had completed; this started after one of the updates. All your data will be corrected with this update and everything will be synchronized. You will not lose any progress. Thanks to Cogar for taking the time to report and document this bug!   Option to display mistyped character on-screen; this allows for repositioning of the fingers without looking at the keyboard; this should help beginning typists. Options (from Pause menu) have been moved to the options menu Options menu available from the pause menu Hard Mode button on options menu. Non-stress Mode button on options menu. • Leaderboards and Achievements - 12 November 2022

  View your place on the leaderboards! Check your unlocked achievements and progress for locked achievements! Stats can be viewed by visiting Word's Community page (click "View Stats" at the top right of the page) or by going to the store page and clicking the link next to the "Play Now" Word is a unique game. Short: Jump in and play one round in a few minutes. Intermediate: You can play a few rounds while the coffee brews (if you still use a coffee pot OO ) or peruse the menus to get a feel for the scope of the Bible. The progress menu and play menu both show your progress. Inspect the play menus; each button shows your progress (slider) and there is a slider at the bottom of each menu with greater-context progress (completed / total) showing the total number of verses for the Bible, testament, book or chapter depending on the context.   If you encounter adjacent quotation marks ( '" or ''" ) , it is difficult to decide (in the moment) which character to type. Short answer, this typically consists of one or more ' followed by one " This usually happens at the end of a quote which contains one or more quotes; there will be one or more closing ' with a final closing " so just remember to enter single quote first and double quote last :)
