  • Update notes for 2024.03.13 - 13 March 2024

Fixed a small oversight on a few achievements, as well as the list of market orders being unresponsive. There was also a situation where the harbour could fail to load. This has been fixed, thanks for the user that brought this to our attention, as well as fixing it themselves at first.

  • Update notes for 2023.11.10 - 10 November 2023

Hello fellow dwarven smiths! As the subtitle indicated, this is our last scheduled update for Forge Industry. We feel the game is in a good enough state with plenty of QoL features added, and bugs squashed since release. Continuing to develop on Forge Industry isn't feasible in regards to return on invest. Thus here is a final update that adds some more QoL features (and some more bugs squashed!) Without further ado, the changelog: Features: Buildings have updated visuals to reflect their storage space. So when a refinement station has plenty of ore and ingots in it's inventory, the building visual will reflect this by showing filled barrels. Every building will have this implemented in one way or another, to add a bit more liveliness to them. Preview items being transported in a route. If you hover over the route name in the route overview, you'll get a preview of the items being trans…

  • Update notes for 2023.10.13 - 13 October 2023

GameForce Belgium and Netherlands was exhausting but resulted in plenty of feedback and motivation to keep BiteMe Games going. Below is a list of QoL changes and bugfixes that we got out of the GameForce feedback on both weekends, resulting in an even smoother game experience. As an extra bonus, a highly requested feature of allowing to edit which buildings a route will deliver to, or even adding more steps to a route, is now supported if the route is paused. When you pause a route, and all the workers have finished running their steps, you'll be allowed to change the buildings and add or remove steps from the route. (Note, the update for mac will be delayed for a day as there are issues with building, but you should also be getting your updates soon!) Update: MacOS and Demo builds are now both also live. Additions ⭐ 🀩 Added new tutorial steps for buying your first Iron Ore and Coal. …

  • Update notes for 2023.09.28 - 28 September 2023

A few small changes, but some important ones nonetheless. With the last update, we added a reworked tutorial, with the support for highlighting specific elements on the screen to help the players navigate our UI... a feature that didn't actually work in our published builds. With this update, players will now notice highlights in the UI and in the world, to indicate what is important for the current tutorial step. Furthermore, there was an issue in our configuration for bug reports. This update should send us any bug reports upon crashes now, allowing us to further research what's causing some of the crashes out there. Additions ⭐ 🀩 Extra wiki entries and tooltips 🀩 Random worlds now get a unique random seed every time, instead of our own preset seed which you can alter. Bugfixes πŸͺ² πŸ› Fixed our new tutorial not correctly highlighting buildings and UI elements πŸ› Fixed an incorrect ca…

  • Update notes for 2023.09.05 - 5 September 2023

A common complaint was that our tutorial was... 'lacking', to put it nicely. Or 'terrible' to put it bluntly. We took that feedback, looked at areas where we could improve it, and thus have reimplemented the tutorial. Amongst the many new and changed steps we've added, we also added the ability to highlight buildings and UI buttons during certain steps, to help guide new players through starting a new playthrough. We hope this guides players through the first steps of the game. Saves remain compatible. If you were doing the tutorial in a save, it'll reset back to the first step, using our new tutorial. (It may prompt you to make a new route with Iron Ore for example, as some things weren't tracked yet before this update.) Additions ⭐ 🀩 New tutorial 🀩 Workers now hold a crate when they are transporting an item. 🀩 Radial menu for buildings now has a quick create route option. Using thi…

  • Update notes for 2023.08.21 - 21 August 2023

Hello blacksmiths! The addition list may seem small, but behind the scenes it contains a large rewrite of how our milestones worked. What are milestones, you say? Milestones are achievements and the tutorial system, I answer. This means currently, a lot of bugs regarding milestones are fixed, allowing you to progress further and unlock some previously inaccessible steam achievements. This also means that the upcoming tutorial rewrite will be able to leverage the strength of our new milestone system to be more expansive and concise, helping aspiring blacksmiths on their path to glory. I now really hope there is no glaring oversight or bug I missed ːlunar2019piginablanketː Additions ⭐ 🀩 Reworked certain UI elements to be more clear 🀩 Reworked milestone system from ground up, for a more expansive achievement system. Bugfixes πŸͺ² πŸ› Reworked milestone system from ground up, for a bugfree e…

  • Update notes for 2023.08.14 - 14 August 2023

Hello blacksmiths! Now that you've been having a few weeks to try out the game, and sharing your feedback with us, we're finally starting to implement some (much-needed) UI/UX changes on top of squashing bugs. We are aiming for a weekly update cycle for at least the next month, where we overhaul some of the biggest pain points. Your feedback is invaluable, so do keep sharing your feedback with us through the Steam Discussions, or our Discord server. As a sneak peak, for next week we will be focusing mostly on making our game easier to understand, with a completely reworked tutorial system, as this seems to be where most beginning players struggle, as we don't explain the mechanics of the game clearly enough as of now. Also, if you did buy the game, we'd love if you are able to take 3 minutes of your time to write us a review on Steam, it would greatly help us with the Steam algorithm. B…

  • Update notes for 2023.08.01 - 1 August 2023

Additions ⭐ 🀩 Steam will have Rich Presence, to show if you're on the main menu, or which profile you're currently playing on. Bugfixes πŸͺ² πŸ› Full Screen will now lock the mouse to the window during gameplay. πŸ› Opening the Steam overlay will now purge shift from the input buffer, so that the game doesn't think you're still holding shift down. πŸ› RadialMenu can no longer be opened through the UI. πŸ› Hide some tooltips when pressing their respective buttons (eg. Load Game => Saves button). πŸ› Fixed some localizations being incomplete. πŸ› Made road sign placeable again. πŸ› Fixed mine's route creation, which could lead to inability of carrying out the route and even crashes. πŸ› Made sure to hide deleted routes from route overview. πŸ› Renamed mine's new route button from "move" to "new route".

  • Forge Industry is now available! - 21 July 2023

I'm incredibly happy to announce that after 18 months of hard work, Forge Industry is now completely available. Forge your destiny as a blacksmith! Automate your workshops, optimize your supply chain, research new materials, craft legendary weapons, and cast your place in the world. We've spent the past 18 months working on this game, and are incredibly proud of the result. A big thank you to everyone who played our game during Steam Next Fest and provided feedback as well. As we decided not to do early access, what can you still expect of upcoming updates? - Bugfixes & Balancing - You can expect a QoL improvement at a later date as well, giving us some time to get your feedback about which parts are bugging you - We are currently not planning any new major features. We believe that the game as it is right now, is in a good place. However, we may still add more content at a later point…

  • Forge Industry Demo Available - 15 July 2023

Hello blacksmiths! As we are gearing up for our release this Friday, 21/07 (you've already wishlisted us, right?), we are now also launching a demo of the game. We believe that you should know in advance what you are in for before you purchase a game. Especially for a game that is more system-based like ours, installing a demo and taking a look around should be an option. Can't wait until the full release? We've got great news for you, as the demo is available from the moment you can read this post! What can you expect in the demo? We've drawn inspiration from our Next Fest Demo, allowing you to play in 2 worlds (no random generation), and work your way up to crafting your first weapons. This should give you a good feeling of the game and if it's your vibe already. One thing to note, due to some technical limitations, worlds from the demo are currently not transferrable to the full game…

  • New release date - 27 June 2023

Hello there fellow blacksmiths! Unfortunately, we've decided to delay the release by Forge Industry three weeks, to 21/07. During Steam Next Fest, we've received an immense amount of support and feedback, but we feel uncomfortable releasing the game in its current state. There were too many issues coming up, and, whilst we are working as hard as possible to get all the kinks ironed out, sometimes you just need more time. Why "only" 3 weeks of delay? We are actually feature complete, meaning everything we want you to be able to do in the full game does "work", just not at the level of quality we are expecting. Because of that, we're going to let Forge Industry cook just that little bit longer, so that the experience will be amazing once it comes out. Thank you all for the patience and continued support you have been showing us over the last few months! We truly wish to give you guys an a…

  • Forge Industry - Next Fest Stream - 20 June 2023

Hi blacksmiths! Join us Thursday 22/06 as we'll go through Forge Industry, share some stories of the development process, show some more advanced mechanics and setups, and of course answer some of your questions! For those in other timezones, that would be: - 9AM PDT - 12PM EST - 5PM GMT - 1AM JST We're looking forward to seeing you there!

  • Play Forge Industry during Next Fest! - 16 June 2023

Hello fellow blacksmiths! We have some exciting news for you today. We are working hard to get the game ready for the upcoming Steam Next Fest, where you will be able to play a demo of our game and give us your feedback. We have been busy fixing bugs, improving the UI, and adding some last-minute features to make your experience even better. One of those features is our newly added in-game wiki that provides players with tips, recipes, and any other information they may need. The wiki will show you the different items, explains the workstations, and gives you general tips and tricks on getting started. During Next Fest we will be expanding the wiki based on your questions, so if at any point you're stuck and the wiki doesn't seem to give a good answer, head over to our Discord server and shoot us a message. We hope you are as excited as we are for the Steam Next Fest and we can't wait t…

  • Steam Deck support - 10 May 2023

We're excited to announce that Forge Industry will launch with Steam Deck support! Personally the entire team loves their Steam deck, so it was a big requirement for us to be able to enjoy our game on the go. There were definitely some challenges with getting a more complex UI like ours usable using a controller. The camera and cursor are controlled with the joysticks, or you can use the trackpads for more precise control as well. And of course you can also use the touchscreen interface if you want to interact with something, similar to a mobile game. Our aim is to give you as much enjoyment as possible, whether you're playing from the comfort of your home, or on the go. Oh, and in case you're not entirely convinced about how the controls work, you can play a demo of our game for free during Steam Next Fest, so you can test firsthand!
