- Winter Survival release date is set! - 13 September 2023
Hey, survivors! Today, it’s going to be one of the most important days for our company, as we’re finally ready to share the release date with you. Having said that, we’ve decided to postpone the release date to February 28th, 2024. It was one and only decision that we could make, as Winter Survival has evolved tremendously since the prologue release. Furthermore, we’ve managed to implement some much anticipated features like building and combat systems. However, as we sat down together, we’ve realized that we need some extra time in order to implement additional features into the game and polish it even further. - Winter Survival moves to Unreal Engine 5! - 26 April 2023

We are thrilled to announce that we have made the decision to transition Winter Survival from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5! The move to UE5 allows us to take advantage of some fantastic new features that are not available in UE4, such as Lumen. Lumen is a revolutionary global illumination solution that allows for real-time lighting and shadowing, as well as accurate reflections and refractions. This means that our game's environments will look even more stunning and immersive than ever before. Hey, survivors! ❄️ We owe you a release date for when Winter Survival goes into Early Access. We have finally decided that it will happen this October. We have not nailed down the exact day simply because we are still coordinating some things related to the release with Valve. That however is a purely technical and marketing related exercise. From a development point of view, we are dead set and will be good to go on any date during October :-) Expect us to announce the release day within the next weeks.

That went quicker than we initially expected so here is the second update to the Winter Survival Prologue already: General Fixed an edge case issue where you could not enter the house near the bridge if saving while on Get A Grip Quest. Fixed another edge case issue where a quest for finding the deer carcass would not continue. If you stumble upon a similar issue elsewhere, please let us know). Fixed a crash related to saving Storage Boxes. Fixed an issue with too small backpack capacity after loading first checkpoint save. Added a cooldown to barks so they don't repeat as often. Added missing Tutorial for Sanity into the Journal. We blocked a path through the mountains that allowed you to access areas that weren't meant to be accessible (Naughty naughty…). The first update for the Winter Survival Prologue is here. Please be advised, that due to the nature of some the tweaks we did, the patch notes contain some spoilers. Gameplay You should no longer be able to be “dropped” out of the world by jumping on the falling rocks near the canteen area. We added extra hiding bushes and adjusted the wolves slightly in the Trolley Stop Station area / pond area. Added few extra boards and collision areas on the bridge that should prevent people from missing the end sequence on the "Cross the Bridge" quest if they approach it slowly rather than quickly. Quickslot items can no longer be used while sleeping. Disabled interaction with torches in the Wolf Cave until the quest to prevent getting blocked on quests if you go there early. Fixed an issue allowing you to keep the flashlight on if you stored it in a storage box. Smoking a cigarette should remove…

Just a heads-up, we are planing a small update for the Winter Survival Prologue with some fixes and adjustments for the weekend.
