• Alpha 1 Is Here! - 1 October 2024

  The moment you've all been waiting for is finally here – the Alpha 1 test for 3XO launches on October 25! We’re beyond excited to welcome our early community members to the next phase of our journey, and we’ve got plenty of surprises in store. This first look at 3XO is a Halloween-themed experience, blending the spooky vibes of the season with synthwave, sci-fi, and all the cyberspace goodness you’ve come to expect from us. Alpha 1 will go live on Friday, October 25th at 3:00 pm EST. Servers will go back down at 3 am EST each night. It will run until Sunday, November 3rd at 3:00 am EST.   Wondering what sexy and cute presets can you expect to be available for women in 3XO? To start with, we'll have all of the official DAZ 3D characters available—Victoria 9, Freja 9, etc. And then over time, we'll add characters created by 3rd-party artists and even from the community! Here's a preview of ALL 25 of the feminine presets which will be available in the upcoming Alpha 1 test, and will be available free for all players at launch. With one click, your avatar can look exactly like any of these presets without any other customization required. What the heck is a Character Preset? It lets you click one single button to automatically apply a Head Shape, Body Shape, Skin Texture, and even hair and makeup—all without having to tweak any other settings.   Welcome to the first official dev blog for 3XO! We’re excited to give you a behind-the-scenes look at the technical process that goes into creating the stunning, lifelike avatars that will populate the world of 3XO. In this post, we’ll be diving deep into the workflow we use to import models from Daz 3D into Unreal Engine 5 (UE5). This process is crucial for ensuring that our characters not only look great but also function smoothly within the game. There are a number of common and popular methods for bringing Daz 3D models into Unreal Engine, such as the official "Daz to UE Bridge". But these methods are simply not good enough or optimized enough for an actual, production-ready video game. • Character Editor Demo (v1) Available Now - 20 March 2023

  Version 1 - Basic Please note: This is NOT the final version of the Character Editor! This is "Version 1", a somewhat simplified and basic version that does not have all the features enabled. While we were polishing our Makeup and Tattoo systems, we discovered a brand new asset on the Unreal Engine marketplace specifically for converting Daz3D textures for use in UE. The product is amazing, and we will definitely be integrating parts of it into our own material systems. But this will take time. Rather than delaying the release of the CE demo, we decided to release a "basic" version now, with certain features disabled, and then release the updated full version sometime later.   It's been over a month since our Kickstarter campaign ended, and a lot of you have been asking for more information on what us developers have been doing lately, so now is a good time to give everyone a little update. We have been very hard at work on polishing the Character Editor demo (which will be available soon, more info below) and continuing to optimize all of the clothing, hair, and other cosmetic customizations.
