This is Fallout: New Vegas director Josh Sawyer, who recently made some points about RPG building that are worth dissecting in light of his reported new gig as head of Obsidian's upcoming Fallout game.   While there's never been any shortage of characters who'll pay you to splatter some brains across the desert with your trusty anti-mat rifle in Fallout: New Vegas , a new mod adds a whole extra faction based around being a post-apocalyptic assassin. Aside from the iconic setting, Obsidian perfected the first-person formula and Bethesda has never risen to the gauntlet it so valiantly put down.   Rubbing shoulders with factions is a big part of the Fallout: New Vegas charm, even if it often devolves into you doing a bunch of favours if you don't want to risk ending up on the vilified naughty list for one too many accidental grenade pickpocktings.   I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't go berserk if a new Fallout New Vegas got announced - especially if Microsoft and Bethesda let Obsidian take the reins again.   There are only a handful of games that I believe need remasters at present. Dragon Age: Origins is the first. BioWare's seminal fantasy romp had so many brilliant, original ideas that deserve another chance to shine. Besides, I've still never played the human prologue and it's a real pain to get to work on modern hardware. The other game is Fallout New Vegas . Obsidian and Bethesda don't seem interested in printing free money, though, so fans have taken it into their own hands to create a stunning mod that updates the game's graphics for modern sensibilities.   Fallout New Vegas is the definitive Fallout experience. The Mojave Wasteland's gritty yeehaw vibe is unmatched, while an Obsidian at the height of its powers has yet to be bested in terms of writing wizardry within the series. It's a complete RPG in every facet, and would be my dream pick for a remaster, especially now Obsidian and Bethesda operate under the same umbrella.
