• Last update of 2024! - 14 December 2024

  Greetings, earthlings! Just wanted to give everyone interested in the game a brief update on what's happening. Recently, we started true end-to-end testing to prove that the game can be played from start to finish. This has been proven, and a lot of little improvements have been made to the game as a result. This is where we are with the project now: - Story and game design are 100% done. - Graphics and music also 100% done (unless we decide to add anything!) - Playtime 8-12 hours (maybe longer for achievement hunters!) - We just have Voice Acting, final testing and refinements to go... - Estimated release date by Q2 2025. • Steam Deck compatibility and dev update - 8 February 2024

  Firstly, just a quick message to say that we have confirmed that Captain Disaster and the Two Worlds of Riskara is compatible with Steam Deck. One of our testers will be specifically looking at this, and below is a video of the demo in action: In terms of development we are making steady progress. The first 4 acts of the game are fully playable with mostly final assets, whilst the fifth act is about half-way there. Testing is on-going, and now at the stage where we are moving the test build over to the Steam client and will begin to add achievement code. We're on course for a 2024 release, and hopefully within a couple of months we will be in a position to start thinking about a more specific release timeframe.   Change Log: V1.01 - Bug fixed which could crash game if you go to very specific location in one room - Fixed bug where you could exit cells room from any position - Missing walk-behind area added - Wilson text location corrected - Wildekimbo dialogue option switching off appropriately that was remaining on - Extra comment by player in one dialogue to point player towards their next step - Added interaction responses to pipe - Added extra reaction to book interaction - Added extra explanatory reaction in ContainerBot dialogue - Added change speed option for power cell mini-game It is probable that if you have an old savegame for the demo from v1.00 that it will no longer work with the new version of the demo. Sorry about that, but since it's quite a small demo and cut-scenes / dialogues are skippable, it really shouldn't take long to get back to where you were.
