The Beekeeper's Picnic has been nominated for Best LGBTQ+ Indie Game at the Gayming awards, and Tobias Weatherburn (aka Toby III 🐶) has been nominated for LGBTQ+ Voice Actor of the Year!The nominations are the result of submissions by the public, so I know that this was definitely because of you chaps writing what I assume must have been really lovely recommendations. This means I owe you a great big thank you!It means so much to me that a game exploring asexuality and relationships that are difficult to label and fit into boxes has a place at the Gayming Awards. Hi Peculiars! This update has improved the audio levelling to make the dialogue in the game slightly louder, all the better for hearing the wonderful voice acting! The volume can still be decreased in the settings menu.

Hi Peculiars, Any of you who are especially eagle-eyed might notice that this is the first update in a while, and perhaps wondering why! I retroactively found out that the game engine I used to make The Beekeeper's Picnic has certain... quirks when it comes to pushing through updates into Steam, and when I first began releasing a flurry of updates in the week after the game's release, it caused some people's existing saved games to become unstable or unusable. So, this time around I've done a lot more research into what breaks saves and what doesn't, taken things very slowly and done lots of testing with regards to saves. I expect that updates and little fixes are going to come more regularly over the next few weeks and months as I get a bit more confident with this process! - Community Items are Now Available! - 4 June 2025
Calling all residents of Fulworth! For those of you who like using Steam's community features, The Beekeeper's Picnic community items are now available. This means you can collect trading cards featuring specially-created artwork as you play, and upgrade them with badges (which are a series of increasingly shiny magnifying glasses, and then the super fancy foil badge is a golden bee, oooh!) Cards are retroactively rewarded based on game play time, so if you've already played through the game take a peek in your Steam inventory, you might have already earned some! You can also decorate your Steam profile with patterns and portraits from the game and get emojis from in the Points Shop. A huge thanks to everyone who has supported the game so far, and I hope you'll have fun with these items.
