- Farlands 1.1 Is Here, With More Still to Come! - 23 September 2026
What? How? More content? What is this madness?Well, this is what happens when you have a team that wants to give players what they expect, and then a little more on top of that. After finishing 1.0 and spending a good couple of months fixing bugs and smoothing out some rough edges, the team still felt like adding more content to the game. So that is exactly what we are doing, and what we will keep doing for a while.Get ready, because there are some pretty exciting things on the way.First things first, version 1.1This update is not as big as the numbered Early Access updates, which were always packed with new content, but it does include a system that we had left unfinished and really wanted to complete first because it can be especially useful for new players: the side quest system.Anyone starting a new game will now see a tab in the corner of the screen showing the first objectives in t…

In fact, we're even working on more content for the game, but you'll start seeing more about that over the next few weeks. I don't want to spoil the surprise just yet.For now, I just wanted to let you know that the soundtrack has been updated to include the final versions of every track.Carlos and Enoc, Farlands' composers, have been working hard to create a strong and cohesive musical identity for the entire game. These new versions reflect all of their effort and dedication, replacing the earlier versions and adding a few tracks that were still missing. With that said, we're keeping a very close eye on your feedback so we can continue improving Farlands with every update. There'll be a patch later this week with a ton of fixes and opti…

- Farlands Is Out Now! - 16 July 2026
And that’s it: Farlands is complete. At least as far as content is concerned. In practical terms, we still have a couple of months ahead of us to fix bugs, listen to community feedback, and continue polishing the game until it is as good as it can be. But in terms of content, everything promised in the roadmap is now in the game.It has been three years of development, two of them in Early Access, and quite an adventure that comes to an end today. On behalf of the Farlands team, we would like to thank both the players who placed their trust in us throughout development and those who followed the game closely and are joining us now with version 1.0. None of this would have been possible without you.We sincerely apologise for the issues that have appeared along the way and may have affected your experience. We are immensely grateful to everyone who reported them and remained patient while we…
- Farlands 1.0 release date! - 18 June 2026
After three years of development, which were theoretically meant to be two, the day has finally come to release the final content update for Farlands: the one that will complete the game and bring its development to a close. But don’t worry! We’ll still be keeping a close eye on all your feedback so we can continue making fixes for a while and make the experience as polished as possible. But let’s get into it: what will this update bring?Well, everything that’s still missing, plus a mountain of improvements related to gameplay experience, controls, game feel, and overall polish. Let’s take a quick look:Darmstad, the final planetAt the farthest edge of SR755, Darmstad awaits: a planet you’ll only be able to access once you’ve upgraded your ship enough, and one that hides countless valuable resources. In Darmstad, not only is there no oxygen, but everything that moves away from the glowing m…
- Farlands 0.9 is here: The Wedding Update - 1 April 2026
The 0.9 Update focuses on just two things: Weddings and the Ark rework. And while this update may seem smaller on paper, both features are extremely important and come with a lot of additions to Farlands. Let’s go step by step. With this update, you can now complete the stories of all romanceable characters by reaching their final relationship event, the Level 5 event. The eight bachelor and bachelorette storylines now reach their conclusion, closing their character arcs. But that doesn’t mean the journey ends there, because once you reach this level with any NPC, and if you have enough space in your house, you’ll be able to get married. To get married, you’ll need to use the Ceremonial Ribbon. Mayor Oola will explain how everything works when the time comes. After the wedding, your husband or wife will move into your house and will accompany you on some of your trips. All of this adds up…
- Livestock has arrived in Farlands! - 18 February 2026
With each update, we’re getting closer to 1.0, and this time the focus is on farm animals and the end of the story. That’s right, it’s now possible to “finish” Farlands. The story will continue in future updates, but once you reach 70% of the Ark, the final events that conclude Gorman’s story will be triggered. If you have already reached 70%, head to the Ark to activate these events. But that’s not all. This update also introduces a key system for any resource management game: building barns and taking care of livestock.By talking to Bonnie, you will be able to purchase Barn Capsules, which will construct different types of barns on your farm and give you access to three new types of livestock: Cottonbunnies, adorable little balls of fluff; Squickens, frantic octopuses with chicken genes; and Bearded Snails, peaceful giants that grow fruit in their beards. You will need to care for them…
- Update 0.7 is here! - 29 December 2025
This update was supposed to arrive soon, but I will not lie to you: We got carried away adding things and may have gone a bit overboard.Version 0.7 was meant to be the “quality of life update”, so we spent these past months reviewing all the feedback you have been leaving on Discord and smoothing out all those small rough edges that create friction during gameplay. The list of changes and additions is huge, so I will not go through everything, but here are some of the most important highlights. You can now move items in chests using fewer buttons, making them much more comfortable to use.The toolbar now disappears when you walk close to it, so it will no longer block your view. The crafting UI has received a full rework and is now clearer and easier to use.You can now remap buttons however you like.A new tutorial system has been implemented. It is faster, simpler, and clearer. The fishing s…
- The 0.6 update is here! - 9 September 2025
This update brings two big new features, plus a bunch of smaller ones that make everything feel more polished. Let’s start with the big ones.NEW PLANET: VANADIANVanadian, the labyrinth-like desert of SR755, comes to Farlands with new resources, a unique day-night cycle, and a merchant packed with fresh and interesting stuff. When you land, look for Bob the merchant. He sells unique seeds, new furniture, and strange artifacts. But since he’s a desert dweller, you’ll need to track him down across different areas of the planet. Be careful if you arrive at night, because instead of insects, hostile mobs you’ll normally see in the mines will spawn. And do you see that buried pyramid? It might be hiding something important for late game...CALENDAR EVENTSNine new events have been added to Farlands, seven on Terbin and two on Galea. Unlike the story events, these ones appear if you travel to tho…
- How are things going? - 15 August 2025
From the ashes emerged a developer. Sluggish and sore, as if he hadn't moved in a decade… and his first words after a silence that felt eternal were:EVERYTHING IS GOING GREATSorry for the radio silence since version 0.5. We've been completely swamped with work, but I can now say that everything is going smoothly. So in this update, I’ll explain how things are going and what you can expect in the coming months. What are we working on?Right now, given the usual processes and expected bottlenecks of development, we are working on three updates at the same time. There are still a few loose ends from 0.5 that will be resolved soon. Things like balance adjustments, sound effects, and other small details. Nothing important, but it all needs to be finalized.Version 0.6 has all the programming finished, so we’re currently working on the content itself. That includes dialogues, translations, events…

- Hostile Mobs Have Arrived in Farlands! - 25 April 2025
After the update that introduced social relationships, the whole team jumped straight into the next big thing: version 0.5, which brings hostile mobs to the mines. In this Steam post, I’ll walk you through what’s new and how we’re planning to roll out the upcoming content over the next few weeks. HOSTILE MOBS The main highlight of this update is the introduction of hostile mobs. Since version 0.1, the only mine in the game featured the Murlusas—a small proof of concept of what enemies in Farlands might be like. From now until the final version, we’ve got a total of 18 enemies planned—six for each of the three mines in Farlands, each with its own behavior and mechanics. But for this 0.5 update, you’ll get to meet just four enemies for now: two in Bohr and two in Hafnir. Every Farlands enemy has been designed with unique behavior—rolling turtles that smash rocks, robots that steal your st…
- 0.4 is here! - 3 March 2025
Originally this update was scheduled for February (because of love, Valentine's Day and all that stuff). But ultimately, we decided to delay it a couple of weeks with the purpose of releasing a fully finished and well rounded update. And I think we have done it, because it comes loaded with new features: Social relations system. This is the most important point of this update and the one that gives its name to it: The social relations system is now fully implemented and from now on you will be able to progress your relationship with the other characters. So far, it is possible to raise them to the second level (out of six), and you will do this by talking to them, joking, flirting or giving them gifts, which they may like or dislike. First relationship event available In addition to the social relationship system, once you reach the first level with any of the eight romanceable candidat…
- A big update is coming! - 11 February 2025
Hello everyone! It's been a few weeks since the last update and it's about time we bring you all up to date, so let's get straight to the point: In two weeks update 0.4 will arrive! This update focuses mainly on NPCs, bachelors, dialogs and mails. To give you an idea of the scope of this update, we estimate that over 1000 new lines of dialogue will be added to Farlands! That is: The first love event with each bachelor and bachelorette, emails that you will be able to receive on your PDA, dialogues that will vary depending on the progress of the story or your relationship with the NPCs... The complete pack. We are convinced that this update will be very worthwhile and will give a new (and expected) layer of depth to Farlands to bring the game a little closer to version 1.0. We will update you very shortly with all the details of what this new update will include, so stay tuned. Thank you…
