- You probably don't remember Remember Me, but its one brilliantly unforgettable idea lives on - 28 February 2025
Poking fun at forgotten brawler Remember Me 's name is low-hanging fruit, but it's hard to get anywhere without acknowledging the irony. These days, developer Don't Nod is instead remembered primarily for its two Life is Strange games. Remember Me is lucky to be a footnote... Read more.
- The Double-A Team: Remember Me's mind games - 10 January 2020
The Double-A Team is a feature series honouring the unpretentious, mid-budget, gimmicky commercial action games that no-one seems to make any more. You can catch up with all of our Double-A Team pieces in our handy, spangly archive. "The past is a different country," says a character with the deliciously preposterous name Johnny Greenteeth. This incomplete and ironically misremembered quote is not a reference dropped into the script here for a dose of unearned gravitas. Rather, while Remember Me is ostensibly a platform beat-'em-up set in a gorgeously fractured futuristic Paris, it is also an exploration of the power and fragility of human memory. Read more
- It's time for cyberpunk games to remember how to be punk - 15 February 2017
At the start of the 1988 adventure game based on William Gibson's genre-defining cyberpunk novel Neuromancer, you wake up face down in a plate of spaghetti. Well, it's synth-spaghetti because this is the future, but that doesn't make it any more comfortable. Like the book's protagonist Case you're a down-and-out former console cowboy who has lost the ability to hack, though in your case it's not due to traumatic surgery but simple poverty. You can't afford a new computer. Hell, you can't even afford to pay for the spaghetti. Author Bruce Sterling summed up the cyberpunk genre as a combination of “low-life and high-tech,” and that's a perfect description of both versions of Neuromancer. Later in the game you have the option to sell your internal organs for cash, and hack a computer at Cheap Hotel—its actual name—to…

- Resident Evil 4 and Remember Me added to Humble Capcom Bundle - 21 October 2015
As is their wont, the chaps behind the latest Humble 'Massive Publisher' Bundle have made it that bit sweeter, adding Resident Evil 4 and Remember Me to the Capcom Bundle , which was already tempting . You'll have to beat the average (currently $9.07) to net them both, alongside Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil Revelations and the excellent Devil May Cry reboot. Fork up $15 and you'll also get the Untold Stories DLC for RE5, plus Street Fighter 4. If none of those appeal, paying just $1 gets you Strider, Resident Evil Revelations 2, Lost Planet 3 and Bionic Commando Rearmed. Phew! I've lost count of the amount of games I've picked up in bundles that are gathering virtual dust in my steam library. Still, it's worth it for all the times I've had a random urge to play something and discovered I already own it. The port of RE5 was a massive improvement over the initial release of RE4, but thi…

- Remember Em? Time Travel Tricks With Life Is Strange - 12 August 2014
Between all the running and jumping and kicking and punching and The Man and some kind of cyber-zombies or something I don’t know, Remember Me had a novel little puzzle game. ‘Memory remixing’ had you jacking into people’s brainboxes to prod and poke and change how they recall events. Sounds like developers Dontnod are focusing on a similar idea with their next game, only with actual time travel and history-changing and fewer guns (relax: not no guns). Yesterday they announced Life Is Strange , an episodic adventure game about rewriting history. …

- Interview: Olivier Deriviere, composer of Remember Me and Assassins Creed: Black Flag - 20 January 2014
Remember Me may not have won critics over when it released last year, but one thing was almost universally praised: its soundtrack. Oliver Deriviere's evolving score reflects the journey of Nilin, a heroine who must recover her lost memories. In addition to Capcom's brawler, Deriviere most recently worked on the soundtrack to Freedom Cry , the single-player DLC expansion for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag . We had a chance to talk with Deriviere about his versatile work, ranging from techno orchestral to traditional Haitian music.

- Remember this Remember Me music video - 18 June 2013
Friend, video gamer, and game video-er Brian recently came to us with a cool piece of video content I think you may find quite. . . memorable. Ahh yes. What he’s done is mashed up Kaskade and deadmau5’s “I Remember” with scenes from Remember Me, to moving effect. If you’ve played the game, you’ll likely note that the song fits in quite well with its themes, tones, and even its actual soundtrack. If you haven’t played the game, get on it! It’s rad. Anyway, without further ado, here’s Brian’s vid. Just please be aware that it does contain some spoilers!! (Via Capcom-Unity)

- Wot I Think: Remember Me - 7 June 2013
Remember Me is a sci-fi action game from Capcom and French dev DONTNOD, and it is about doing unpleasant things to people’s memories and punching other people. Mostly punching people, to be honest. Let’s see I can totally recall what I thought of it. (more…)
- A look at 'The Art of Remember Me' HC book from Dark Horse - 6 June 2013
Before you even look inside, there's a reassuring heft to this 170+ page, hardbound tome. Ho, but then you crack it open! And that’s the moment where fans of hand-drawn concept art, game design and things all things rad are going to see their jaws hit the floor. Dontnod’s creative heads come with quite the artistic pedigree, so it’s great to see Jean-Maxime Moris, Alexis Briclot and Michel Koch chime in on their work in the foreword (with Briclot also providing the insightful captions throughout the book). Dark Horse’s The Art of Remember Me releases later in June and goes for $39.99 (or less!), available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble or even your local comic shop. (Via Capcom-Unity)
