- Rainbow Lighting Bug FIXED - 9 September 2026
Dear fans - the game is not supposed to look like this:Our faithful Streamer connection Dalkiel was able to send us an email notifying us of this visual bug. As of now this issue has been fixed if you update your version of Alter Evo you will be good to go.I am deeply sorry to those of you who played the game and encountered this bug - if you play now you will not see it again! It was due to the last patch I uploaded having light maps that had been silently corrupted due to an issue that happens with when you go back in time in GitHub to an older version of the project. GreetingsWhat’s up friends?It’s Leon from Technical Fiction. I am the engineer and designer who built 90% of Alter Evo. I also collaborated with a handful of very cool people for the art, sound, voice acting, and animation aspects of the game.A little bit about me - I worked in the game industry for 10 years and shipped 5 games for various employers before I became a full time indie dev in 2023. I had a strong background in film-making and music before I committed myself to game development in my early twenties. I built my first games in middle school using a game engine called Klik n Play.My favorite artists are David Lynch, Franz Kafka, and Takayoshi Sato, the character designer for Silent Hill 2. We’re proud to announce that Valve has verified Alter Evo on Steam deck. This means that you can search for secrets in Brunilda's mysterious mansion on the go. We've also been testing Alter Evo on Steam deck since 2023, here is a throw back to our first ever Steam Deck build: Thanks to everyone who has bought Alter Evo this past week. Patch v.12 is live. -Missing Traditional Chinese characters issue has been fixed-Pressing continue from the main menu after you beat the game will now take you back to the mansion at the beginning of Day 5 so that you can attempt to find SOLITARIA and unlock the other secrets and achievements. What is SOLITARIA?It's Brunilda's secret experimental video game. You can find it by following a set of subtle clues and puzzles spread out across North Terrace, but most of the work is done at the mansion level. It's been almost two weeks since the Alter Evo Launch, and it's a huge relief to have the game out in the wild.
