  • Queue and Schedule working now. - 27 August 2026

The schedule fix broke the queue, both the queue and the schedule should be working properly now

  • TV Station Update — Playout & Startup Improvements - 27 August 2026

This update addresses critical transition bugs between the active queue and the scheduled fallback, along with a major startup performance optimization. Bug Fixes & Improvements Queue-to-Schedule Transitions: Resolved a state issue where pausing or clearing the queue failed to cleanly hand control back to the regular schedule. Schedule playback now resumes instantly without requiring a application restart. Schedule State Tracking: Implemented proper state guards (current_running_schedule_id) for the schedule fallback system to prevent redundant heartbeat commands from re-triggering mid-stream playback. VLC Thread & Signal Stability: Fixed signal cascade race conditions and thread lockups during manual media switches, ensuring video transitions and completion events trigger reliably. Performance Faster Cold-Boot Startup: Generated and bundled the LibVLC plugins.dat index cache. The appli…

  • 📺 Dev Update: What Should the TV Station Bot Do Next? - 10 August 2026

I've been thinking about where to take the TV Station chat bot next.Right now, the bot is pretty simple. It has two commands:!help — Shows the available commands.!tv — Lets viewers queue something to play.At the moment, !tv is pretty rigid. If a movie has an ID of 24, for example, you can type:!tv movie 24…and the bot will queue that movie. It gets the job done, but I think there's a lot more we could do with it.One of the things I really like about TV Station is the idea that the viewers can actually participate in the programming. A streamer can create their own schedule, or leave the station open and let the viewers pick from the rotating board of available videos.I'd like to push that idea further.I've already got a few ideas floating around. For example, instead of requiring viewers to know a specific ID, the bot could eventually understand things like:!tv genre Sci-fiOr perhaps ce…

  • File Upload Fix - 8 August 2026

Fixed crashes that occur during large list video asset loading. May take longer, but it works. Fixed issue with queued items not displaying when Queue Panel is open.

  • VLC update - 7 August 2026

After moving away from the old 2023 Unity release and initially experimenting with the FFmpeg extension, we realized we needed a much sturdier media pipeline, prompting me to completely overhaul the system and migrate the video player over to Godot VLC. That core architectural shift naturally turned into a massive, full-scale sweep to iron out a huge backlog of lingering UI, layout, and stability gremlins across the entire application.Switched core video backend from FFmpeg to Godot VLC, building further on the transition away from the 2023 Unity releaseMoved rendering pipeline to Forward+ and enabled hardware video accelerationAdded surround sound detection and stereo downmixing for multi-channel audio setupsAdded Master Volume slider, Mute, and Mono audio toggles in program settingsRaised the Mix Rate to 48000 HzAdded batched missing file auditor in Media tabCalibrated playback suppor…

  • TV Station 2.0 - 10 July 2026

Hey everyone,It's been a little while since the last update, but I've been buried in a pretty major rewrite. Today I finally get to share what I've been working on, because TV Station 2.0 isn't just another update. It's basically a brand new application.Goodbye Unity. Hello Godot. The biggest news is that TV Station has been rewritten from the ground up. I've officially moved away from Unity and rebuilt everything in Godot. This wasn't a small project, but I think it'll be worth it in the long run. Godot is lightweight, open source, and honestly just a better fit for the kind of desktop application TV Station has become. The end result is a program that starts faster, uses less memory, and gives me a lot more flexibility to add new features without fighting the engine. Finally, Separate WindowsOne of the biggest complaints about version 1 was having the controls and the video player locked…
