• Prison Architect 2 is official, bringing Paradox's jail management sim to 3D - 16 January 2024

  After teasing a 3D sequel when Prison Architect received its final update last May, developers Double Eleven and publishers Paradox Interactive have announced that, yep, Prison Architect 2 is indeed a thing that is happening - and in 3D, no less. Prisons will now have multiple floors to police, as well as a whole new inmate behaviour system to navigate along the way that will feed into gang warfare, escapes and other budding management problems. It's coming out surprisingly soon, too, with its reveal trailer dating it for March 26th. Read more

Prison Architect was released back in October 2015 after several years as an early access game, and became a fan favorite. • Prison Architect's final update gives the first glimpse of a 3D sequel - 24 May 2023

  Developers Double Eleven have released the final update for Prison Architect, appropriately enough called the Sunset update, which doesn't so much tease a 3D sequel as show off a bit of it. The update comes with a short trailer thanking all the game's players for the past 11 years (it was released in Alpha by original developer Introversion in 2012), at the end of which one of the prisoner character models pops into 3D as the rest of the crowd gasps... • Jailhouse Hotfix - UI Scaling & Miscellaneous - 8 February 2023

  Hey Wardens! There was an issue encountered with the Jailhouse Update (released alongside Jungle Pack) that caused some serious scaling issues. We have isolated the issue and pushed a hotfix to PC that fixed it. We’re also taking this chance to patch foundations removing internal plans and snipers. Max Capacitors Plus are NOT in this hotfix and will be available in the next update, so please stay tuned (apologies for the confusion). So many of my fellow inmates are looking a little green and feverish. Also, the eggs in the kitchen this morning had a large number of bugs buzzing on them, but that’s normal in the jungle. Right? In other news, we just got a cinema! There’s nothing quite like watching a film with the fire pits blazing nearby. Makes it easier to ignore the rusty metal doors and buzzing insects everywhere. Ow! I just got bitten! These bugs are the worst. Time to get into my netted bed. Hopefully they’ll let you visit next week.
