  I just released the demo for my new game, Well Dweller! It's a dark fairy tale metroidvania where you play as a tiny bird armed with a matchstick.   Just updated with a small patch fixing a handful of bugs and tweaking some systems slightly -Your vessel refills after death -Fixed some issues with the camera zoom setting (including some background glitches) -Fixed a rare crash during the final boss fight -Fixed a rare crash if you exited to menu in the Tower boss room, and re-entered -Made the broomerang break pots -A few speedrun changes (allows speedrunning boss-rush mode, debug save states, etc) -Various other tiny fixes

• Patch Version 1.0010 - 3 September 2024

  The first patch for Crypt Custodian is here! I wanted to focus on a couple larger issues first, and I'll be working on another patch that will focus more on a bunch of smaller tweaks and changes soon. The PC build doesn't seem to have many large issues, so many of the changes I've been working on are focused on some console-specific bugs as well and aren't listed below. Changes: -The item tracker upgrade now also lists any uncollected items in the room on the top left UI -You can reset controls to default -Buffed up the Slime Scraper upgrade -Swapped the order of two map hints, to make one area less confusing -In the Grief boss fight, a UI pops up if you don't figure out that you can dig under the spikes -Fixed the "Kill a boss without taking damage achievement" so it triggers even if you don't start the fight at full health -Fixed a couple very rare crashes (one when loading the tower…

• Launch Thoughts, plus the future of Crypt Custodian! - 28 August 2024

  Just wanted to hop in and say thank you so much for the support during launch! Releasing a game is always super stressful, and I am so happy that the response to Crypt Custodian has been so positive. It really means a lot to me. I wanted to say a couple things relating to the release and what happens next with the game! First- If you grabbed a copy of Crypt Custodian, please consider leaving a review! It helps a ton with visibility, and is pretty crucial for very tiny dev teams to get seen in such a crowded market. Crypt Custodian has been developed by just me (art/code/design) and my brother (music), so taking the time to do that would be massively appreciated! Second, I'll be working on a patch with some tiny changes that I'll aim to put out this week. • A Sneak-Peek at Crypt Custodians Map and Features - 7 September 2023

  I'm a huge metroidvania fan, and I always find myself getting excited by game maps, so I wanted to make sure Crypt Custodians map is bullet-proof. Here's a small preview of the games map, and map features: Multiple Views I couldn't decide between the more modern style detailed map (like in Hollow Knight or Ori), or the more classic block style (like in Super Metroid or Castlevania)... So I did both! You can seamlessly switch between both map styles. I find the classic block-style map is more useful for long-term planning, and figuring out which areas to explore next. And the zoomed in detailed map is more useful when looking around your immediate area. Fast Travel Shrines are littered across the landscape in Crypt Custodian. These are your save points, but they also allow you to fast travel. You can teleport immediately between any shrines you've discovered. Map markers You can mark you…
