  Happy December Everyone! Hope all is going well! Time for the next big update to the game. This update is geared towards performance. I have spent the last few months isolating issues that were creating an inconsistent gaming experience. Occlusion culling is a process that prevents items from rendering that are completely hidden from view (occluded). The game has always had this in from launch.   Hello Everyone! The next update to fix alot of issues is releasing this afternoon! Here is the patch notes! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Patch Notes: -Fixed Lighting Issues in the Prologue level. -Removed vent sections from the prologue, You can just open the door normally to get to the laundry room. Developer note: This was done as the jumping for the vents was causing players to get stuck/ confused. -Added a new scene before the nightmare level to better explain what needs to be done to escape. -Fixed bug where the player can get soft-locked in a nightmare by jumping off the roof too early. -Fixed bug where the box fall audio will keep triggering when a player was walking multiple times near the boxes. -Increased Detection radius of statues on the altar. -Added in placement areas for the status at the altar, Easier to g…

• WNC Developer Update - 1 July 2023

  Hello everyone! I wanted to come on here and give a quick developer update. Thank you for taking the time to play the game. I understand it’s very frustrating not to be able to progress through the prologue. So, I just wanted to give an update on some upcoming changes in the next update to the game. Some key frustrations were with the physics for the boxes to get into the vent. In the upcoming update, the vent and the boxes are going to be removed. Instead, it’s just going to be a streamlined process to get to the next area. I believe this will alleviate some of the frustration and issues players were having at this level. Some more general updates are in the introduction to the Nightmare Level. There is a current bug that I am working on fixing. If the player moves too fast, the main text for what to do with the statues doesn’t appear and some players are frustrated, not understanding…

• Release Notes - 14 June 2023

  As we near the release of When Night Comes! Here are a few known issues to keep in mind. Known Issues: -Sometimes when pressing "Q" to examine items, it will not actually examine. -Remapping the Examine key back to "Q" in settings will resolve the issue. -On the Nightmare Level, If the player is moving too fast it is possible for the player to miss the main objective text on Screen. -The pickup feature of the Statues are incorrectly labeled as "Examine" instead of "Pickup" -The altar sometimes requires specific placement of the statues on the top of the table to progress. -The hidden achievement "This Carpet is Nice" is being incorrectly awarded to all players at the start of the game. Have fun getting it easy! -The Examine icon "Q" is sideways Developer Note: The notes in the game are intended to be blank. This is a creative choice. Examine the note and press "E" to read what is on it.
