  We've been blown away by the reception of 1.5, Hugh and the DLC - thank you all so much for your support! As we plan the 1.6 update, we knew we wanted to nip a bunch of nasty bugs in the bud, plus improve some elements that were bothering us ahead of the bigger quality of life update we want to deliver down the line. The two headliners are: 1) a fix that prevented progression during the DLC 2) no more lighting woes/dark scenes!   It's with great delight that we present to you the fifth major free update to Trash Goblin since 1.0! We've been building to this release for a long time so let's dive into all the lovely details!WHAT'S NEW?The biggest feature is of course the brand new tool, Hugh! If you've not been keeping up with al the news, here's how it works! You get access to Hugh around the point where you get tool upgrades more generally, and with Hugh you can remove the material (think colour, but with some lighting properties etc) from any trinket's subsection, and then apply it to any other! Removing the material from a section of a trinket leaves it as 'plain wood', which is a nice look all by itself... but we can't wait to see what outlandish creations you come up with using the 30 materials in the game!As you remove materials, they're saved in your material jars so you can hoard them, then pick and choos…

• 1.5 unveiled - Brand new "recolouring" mechanic! - 22 April 2026

  TL;DRWe're bringing a huge free update to the base game in early May! It's a brand new tool and gameplay mechanic where you can 'recolour' every trinket and their parts at will, and slots into the game regardless of if you're new to it or have a 20hr+ save to continue from!CREATIVE FREEDOMThis has been on our most-wanted list of features since we came up with the game back in 2023. And as we bring it to life, we really wanted to make sure you can do almost anything with this new system. So while you're not able to customise every element of a given trinket individually the flexibility it does offer is still completely bonkers!   This mini patch is for the release of the free Spiffo Plushie DLC but includes a couple of small fixes: The localizations for the Candles in Expansion Mode had gone missing but it is now back in place! The Woolen Mouse Tail trinket is no longer visible outside of its puzzle blocks when chipping.

• New Horizons - Patch #1 - 12 March 2026

  We've implemented a bunch of updates and fixes to the Japanese localization. Mushroom Strangers will no longer pretend to be Frogs! Gamepads will no longer lose focus when returning to the main menu after the credit roll completes. A certain Spirit Stranger's body will no longer be swapped out for a grey box after making a sale. We've made some tweaks to a handful of quests like Raniel's which should prevent them from not completing properly and starting over if their last line of dialogue is stalled or skipped too quickly. The Trash Goblin logo on the title screen is now localised to Chinese and Japanese.

• Mini patch: preparation for the Goblin Plushie trinket - 18 February 2026

  This mini patch is for the release of the Goblin Plushie DLC but includes a handful of small fixes: The reference to the Heart Pendant had broken in the trinket pack in which it is unlocked. You should now start to see this trinket come through in your sack! By popular request you can now put hats on top of the Dog and Bear Plushie's heads. We've implemented a proper loading screen for when travelling to districts. We've added a short "once upon a time" story beat on starting a new game.
