- Memory Expansion Update - 3 January 2024
The big update is finally here! This update introduces a new world map, new enemies, new story beats, and multiple endings. It's almost the size of the original game, just about doubling the amount of content. So there's lots of new things to discover and new challenges to face. It's been a long journey of development for this game, so I'd really like to thank everyone who's patiently waited for these updates.
- Out of the Blue Update - 28 November 2023
Hey I'm back to announce that a new build is out with some new content, although it comes with some caveats I'll have to explain along with it. First, this isn't quite the big expansive update I really wanted to deliver... yet. A lot of the work on the new section of the game is complete, but there's still a bit more that needs to be done before it can be finalized, so it won't be shipping with this build. However, I do have some new stuff that can go live now, so I decided to put out this smaller update while the rest of it is still cooking. This update introduces 2 new playable cards to the game. Here's a preview of them: This update also brings with it lots of subtle polish features, bug fixes, and balance changes to improve the gameplay experience overall. If there's any other issues I missed or features you'd like to see added, please let me know. And as always, thanks for sticking…
- I'm Sorry - 1 October 2023
Today is the day I was hoping to announce the release of the "Memory Expansion" update, but that announcement is going to have to wait. I'm still working hard to get this update finished, but it's taking more time than I expected. It was an ambitious deadline but nonetheless, I'm sorry to disappoint. What I can give you for now is a little glimpse of what's coming soon in this next update. Here's a sneak peek at the next explorable area of Memoryland: I'm trying my best to get this update out as soon as possible, but for now I don't have an official release date set. When it does come out, it will be free for everyone who already owns the game just like previous updates.
- Next Level Update (2/2) - Unlocking New Abilities - 21 July 2023
The second half of the Next Level update is here, adding 6 new unlockable abilities to the game. You should see them in the ability tree screen now. All the new abilities unlock at tier 3, so their effects will be very impactful. They'll also enable lots of new interactions and combos never seen before, which creates more room for experimenting and coming up with new strategies. See what crazy things you can do with them. This update also fixed some bugs: - Devilkid card drops should be fixed - Mouse hover tooltip for card augments should be working properly
- Next Level Update (1/2) - Introducing New Cards - 11 July 2023
The first half of the Next Level update has just released, adding 3 new playable cards to the game. Here's a little preview of the new cards: They have some pretty unique abilities, but they may be a little hard to find. See if you can get them and try them out. One other new feature in this update is that you can now mouse over a card's grade on its health bar in battle to see what augment it has.
- Mall Rat Update (2/2) - Run! Dodge! Smash! - 9 June 2023
The second half of the "Mall Rat" update is here, bringing some new exploration features to the game. Here's what's new in this update: Run button Some enemies now have a ranged lightning attack outside of combat Destructible objects with random loot drops I've also changed some of the enemy placement in the world a little bit. With these additions I'm hoping the world explore mode will feel more interesting and dynamic. There were also some bug fixes in this update (mostly bugs caused by the last update, my bad!) so I'm glad I was able to get this one out quickly. As always, I'll be keeping an eye out for any other bugs, and I will have more content coming soon.
- Mall Rat Update (1/2) - The Gacha Machine - 7 June 2023
Since my roadmap announcement last week I've been hard at work. Now I'm glad to say that the first part of that plan, titled the "Mall Rat" update has released, adding a new character to the abandoned mall. It also comes with a little gachapon mini-game (not real gacha, don't worry). The next part of this update will include some more exploration features, and then it'll be more content after that, starting with new playable cards. Progress is moving along quickly, so the new stuff should be coming very soon.
- Content Development Roadmap - 1 June 2023
As of today It has been one week since Memoryland Prelude launched on Steam. I’m really excited that plenty of people have taken interest in this game and have tried it out. At the same time, I’ve come to realize that it may have been a little too early to release it in its current state. Since I can’t go back in time and change that decision, the next best thing I can do is continue developing the game and adding more content. I’ve outlined a rough estimate of what you can expect to see in the coming months, and I’ll note that it’s my sincere goal to try to crush these deadlines and overdeliver if possible. By June 30th: Mall rat update 1 new NPC/enemy in the mall Various new features in world explore mode By July 31st: Next level update 3 new playable cards 6 new unlockable abilities By August-September: Memory expansion update New explorable zone multiple new enemies/NPCs Potentially…
