Whatever you think about the Assassin's Creed series, it's hard not to be surprised by its longevity. Every player has their firm favorite. So, assuming you're still vehemently invested in Ubisoft's massive action franchise, you'll be pleased to hear that it appears to still be in safe hands: three very experienced Assassin's Creed alumni have been moved to the newly-formed Vantage Studios, which essentially sounds like the new home for Assassin's Creed games. Assassin's Creed Black Flag isn't anywhere near the best Assassin's Creed game in my book, but it's one of the best pirate games I've ever played. Trading in stealth and hidden blades for cannon fusilades and intra-ship combat, it's the black sheep of Ubisoft's iconic series. Yaaarrr. There be a fresh report about the long-rumoured Assassin's Creed: Black Flag remake Ubisoft have still yet to publicly acknowledge. It claims the publisher are currently looking to release the retooled piracy game in early 2026, as well as providing more alleged details as to how the remake'll differ from the original. This Black Flag remake's been reported to be in development several times over the past couple of years, with the voice actor of original protagonist Edward Kenway alleging that he got in trouble for being recorded teasing it at a convention earlier this year. Assassin's Creed Shadows has already secured Ubisoft a much needed win, with the sprawling open-world game being one of this year's best sellers. However, it seems a reveal (or maybe even a surprise drop) of a new Assassin's Creed game is about to happen. A notable dataminer has uncovered what they believe to be evidence of an all-new AC experience, and it's not the recently dated Claws of Awaji DLC for Shadows. The dataminer whittles the possibilities down to two potential suspects - the heavily rumored remake of my personal favorite in the series, Assassin's Creed Black Flag , or the upcoming multiplayer spinoff codenamed Assassin's Creed Invictus .
