Hello again, fellow adventurers! Pilo here, ready to share about how the charming visuals and delightful music of my world came to life. Fred aimed for my adventures to feel like wandering through a living painting, blending colorful, vibrant hand-painted worlds with simple, lovable characters like me. Each planet has a distinctive palette, ensuring each journey feels special and new, filled with optimism and warmth - even when exploring forgotten worlds. The animation was designed to match the gentle pace of exploration, from quietly browsing my Holobook to calmly wandering the desert. The cozy feeling extends into music, too, composed by Corentin. He crafted music to mirror my adventures - optimistic, adventurous, yet thoughtful. Hey, friends! It’s Pilo, and today, let's talk about the wonderful humans behind my world! Jérôme Bodin and Frédéric Simon dreamed me up together. Jérôme is a seasoned indie game veteran, and Frédéric’s artwork brought life to every corner of my cozy universe. They started building my adventure in early 2022, and it took about three years of hard work. I heard they even had some tiring moments because building an entire cozy universe with just two people is no easy task! Thankfully, more talented friends joined later to help make things perfect. One lovely lesson they learned was to trust their vision of creating something simply beautiful, free from action-packed drama. They say the best moment was seeing Jérôme’s young children enjoy exploring my world and collecting stickers together. - Devlog 2: Level Design – Crafting the World of Pilo - 28 March 2025
Hi, explorers! Pilo here again. Have you wondered how my worlds feel so relaxing and inviting to explore? It wasn't easy! My creators carefully designed each planet to feel uniquely enchanting and easy to wander around. They call this "revisitable," meaning you can come back again and again to uncover new surprises, helped by Professor’s special gadgets! Though puzzles exist here and there, they are more about tickling your curiosity than challenging your mind too harshly. One planet in particular - the swampy one - was especially tricky. It was too dark at first, almost impossible to explore! But after some careful tinkering, it's now mysterious yet inviting, just like the "Mysterious Ecosystem," my personal favorite area. It perfectly captures the wonder and peace of adventure. Keep an eye out - there might be sweet surprises for a little explorer with a sweet tooth like me 🍰✨
