- 0.7.9 - Perks! - 26 August 2026
This is a rather large update as it contains a completely new feature: Perks! From level 3, every level-up gives a perk pick at the campfire. There's quite a lot of perks which means there's a lot of room to shape your character. It goes like this: Each level-up gives you one pick from any of the six categories of perks. There are three randomized selections from each category and a wild card from any category. Picks from the same category will build momentum. Sticking with one category will make rarer perks start showing up. Common perks are available from the start and Uncommon, Rare, and Legendary perks only appear as momentum grows. Switching categories resets momentum, so there's a tradeoff between specializing and spreading out.Hitting enough total picks in a category (7, 15, and 20) unlocks milestone abilities - powerful passives like guaranteed crits after a perfect parry, survivi…

- Summer Break and Preview of Island 5 - Iakara - 3 July 2026
Hello folks, it is that time of year again. We are leaving for a traditional summer break today and coming back in August. We’ve been hard at work with Dysplaced for a couple of years now and especially after the Early Access release. If you want a full(ish) rundown, then the patch notes for 0.7.5 () will have a list of stuff added since the initial Early Access release. There is a lot. Anyhow, what I’m saying is that we could really use a breather. But before that we will have a look at the next island, which is scheduled for release sometime in August/September depending on how fast we can finish it. Island 5, or Iakara henceforth, is the “hot island.” It is a combination of vast, grassy savanna lowlands and scorching hot deserts of the sandy and cragged kind. The already tough to live in island faces more peril, as the Lord of the Shifting Sands has either destroyed or captured most…
- 0.7.7 - Spears - 1 July 2026
A small patch this time just before we'll have a summer break. Spears now show a 10-second on-screen countdown before returning, so no more guessing when it comes back. We're also experimenting with removing the lit campfire requirement for camp building — let us know how that feels. The campfire itself is the focus point of any camp, so that'll be required - it is a way to control building stuff in general.Spear return time set to 10s with on-screen countdownExperimental: camp building no longer requires a lit campfireGrey hair color added. Increased sailboat discovery rangeFishing spot hints added via a note at Fisherman's HideawayAdded missing quest markers to a few quest phasesFixed Helos puzzleGeneral terrain, stuck spots, and floating object fixes

- 0.7.4 - Steam Deck Update - 16 June 2026
We're happy to report that the game is now Steam Deck verified! To be exact, already a previous build passed the verification, but to highlight the event, we'll call this 0.7.4. update a "Steam Deck Update".The game launched with playable rating and we were happy to publish that at the launch. During the last few weeks, we've been working on the UI scaling so that all important screens scale properly for the smaller screen of the Steam Deck and similar devices. We've personally played the game with Steam Deck and Rog Ally X. After the work we resubmitted the game for Steam Deck verification and we got the verified badge during the weekend! There's still some stuff we'd like to do like a carousel system for quests when the UI scale is large and larger number of tracked quests starts to overlap with the minimap. Another thing is a separate UI scale modifier for the protagonist comments plu…

- 0.7.2 - Lots of QOL - 4 June 2026
This. update has a lot of QOL stuff. The crafting screen now has sorting and subcategories for heads and hafts, so finding what you need requires less scrolling. The shovel secondary now shows its affected area, and you can hover over build costs to check materials before committing (mouse only though). There's also camera sensitivity and smoothing.Combat got more tuning — boar speed and damage reduced, ranged enemies circle less, and if you interrupt an enemy healing, the potion won't be stuck in their hand. Bronze is also more rewarding now with copper tier overlap decreased and more uses for rubber across the board. Also: you can now build and use sauna stoves + beds allow you to sleep at any time. - 0.7.1 - Difficulty Settings, Combat Tweaks, and Trap Recovery - 29 May 2026
Just got the Helos Update out, but we managed to squeeze still one moret update out for this Friday. We wanted to push this out as it includes something quite interesting: The Hard Mode and Easy Mode. We'd like your feedback on it during the weekend so we could maybe do some balancing next week. You can now switch between normal, easy and hard whenever you want. The hard mode is supposed to be harder, but it shouldn't be super punishing. The easy mode will make the combat easier and more relaxed. The difficulty can be adjusted from the Gameplay options. The Hard Mode will spawn more enemies - it uses the multiplayer spawns to increase amounts of enemies. Many other adjustments also happen regarding enemy hitpoints, enemy attack speed, enemy damage and player stamina settings. Conversely the Easy Mode will adjust these settings to make the game easier. It will not remove enemies though. No…

- 0.7.0 - The Island of Helos Available - 25 May 2026
The island of Helos is here. This is the fourth of six planned islands and the first major content drop since Early Access launch. If you've been waiting for more world to explore — this is it.Helos brings a new tier of equipment (iron), more skills related to Alchemy and Bug Catching, and a fresh chunk of handcrafted world to explore and tear apart. We've also used this update to address a massive pile of fixes and improvements across the board, from local co-op stability to building, combat, and inventory.Speaking of combat - we're working on more polish there as well. Dodging now interrupts your primary attack, and you can move while aiming certain items. This is the beginning of a larger combat pass, not the end.A few words on what's ahead: hard mode, more combat polishing, the option to stop nature from replenishing (for completionists), and Steam Deck UI updates. These are some of…

- 0.6.20 - Couch Co-op, Sorting, and Stamina Rework - 22 April 2026
It's here — local co-op is now live! Grab a second controller (or a controller in addition to mouse+wasd) and drag someone into the realm with you. We mentioned a few updates ago that we were close, and now it's done. As with everything in Early Access, we'll keep polishing it based on your feedback - so keep that coming. The local co-op focus has been in two player game so expect that the be more polished than 3 or 4 player experience. Some UI details also need more work, but we wanted to get this out now to gain more feedback. And thanks to all the testers in the "staging" branch - we caught some pretty hefty bugs with your help! Beyond the big one, we've made some solid quality of life improvements across the last two patches. Your backpack and stash now have sort buttons, dumping items into the stash respects your locked slots, and gamepad controls got some love across the board. We…
- Local Co-Op In Testing Phase - 17 April 2026
Just a heads up for everyone: The local co-op is enabled in the staging branch. We'd be thrilled if you give it a spin and send us feedback. We'll keep it in "staging" branch for some time to iron out the kinks, so if you want to try it go there. The local co-op should be fully functional via multiplayer buttons at campfire or at main menu.Learn how to use the staging branch here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2430390/discussions/0/801215926447939113/
