- Version 1.0 - 12 July 2026
SaunaGoblins can now build saunas. A sauna will be kept perpetually heated with firewood, and when heated it serves two purposes: healing and relaxing.Wounded goblins will go into the sauna to heal their wounds, while healthy goblins will go to relax in a sauna if there is spare room. In either case, once the goblin has fully relaxed they will seek out the nearest body of water and jump in for a swim. If they succeed in finding water they will gain a buff that improves their stats.ImprovementsSubstantial pathfinding performance improvement, larger camps will see a big differenceTerrain rendering performance improvedFlora search performance improvedItem finding performance improvedBug fixesFixed crash when casting spells on map edgesFix bug where goblins could reserve two bedsFix bug where swimming goblins didn't always steer towards shoreFix bug where leaving goblins would not select th…
- v0.45.0 - Silt and improved events - 24 February 2026
Notable changesThe spring flood brings silt in the water. When the water recedes it leaves behind silt, increasing the fertility of the ground it covers.Direct the water to your fields and let the silt deposit to the ground to increase the fertility of the land.Use floodgates to prevent further flood water from washing away your crops.Pump out the water to allow for planting seeds.Invasions are now related to the camp's tier. Camp tier is determined based on the population of the camp. This replaces the old system which based invasion severity only on time. This means two things: 1) Growing population too quickly without investing in defense will be dangerous. 2) Keeping villages small is much more viable now, you're not forced to grow into a larger city.FixesFixed crash that could happen when cooking failed.Fixed hang when unexpected plants grew on farm plots.Fixed performance drop whe…

They will now fall over and start decomposing instead of standing around forever.
- Earth Update Features - 7 February 2025
The Earth Update is out now! Let’s take a look at the new features, especially the new production chains. The Earth Update is the last major update for Goblin Camp in Early Access, and our next step will be moving to full release. ** When you start a new game of Goblin Camp with the Earth Update installed, you’ll find two kinds of new terrain features on the map. There will be exposed rock faces, which don’t catch fire or become muddy when worn, but are also completely infertile. You may also find large bogs, which slow down any creatures traveling through them. These new terrain features aren’t just there because they look pretty, either. They’ll each provide your goblins with valuable resources. You can build a stone quarry on rock tiles, and if you have metal picks to work with, it will produce rough stone. A stone-cutter’s shack can turn that rough stone into dressed stone, which wa…
- v0.42.0 - Earth Update patch notes - 6 February 2025
Feature highlights Work areas. Goblins no longer fell trees or harvest flora from anywhere on the map that they can access. Instead they will only work in areas that are considered part of the camp due to proximity to the gateway rock or sacrificial tree, or in areas that are near active raven statues. Areas around raven statues are marked as work areas. Work areas do not spread through walls to allow you to prevent goblins from venturing outside into dangerous areas, and raven statues can be disabled as needed if you want to clear forest-cover but not have goblins go too far for resources. Enemies will also only be engaged within work areas, which will allow for better defensive building. Adjustment to forest-cover. Forest-cover is now denser than before, goblins will no longer be able to simply cut their way through. Use raven statues, fire and spells to clear it. New weapon and armor…
- Happy Holidays! - 23 December 2024
Happy holidays to all of you, from the three of us at Korppi Games. We'll be back next year with the Earth Update!
- Glacial Landforms: The Goblin Camp Map - 2 December 2024
Goblin Camp is set in a forest that’s more or less based on the kind of woods we have in Finland and elsewhere in Northern Europe. The reason this kind of terrain looks the way it does is actually quite simple: it’s the ice age. A little over a hundred thousand years ago, the Earth started cooling and entered the Last Glacial Period. Massive sheets of ice covered nearly all of Northern Europe. Here in Finland, the bedrock is mostly very close to the surface, and as the glaciers expanded, they scoured away nearly all of the soil, leaving just the bedrock covered with ice. Incidentally, this means that if there were humans living around here before the Last Glacial Period, we have no idea who they were or what they did, because pretty much all possible evidence will have been destroyed by the ice. There’s a heated argument over a place in Finland called Wolf Cave, which some people think…
- How to Feed Your Goblins - 18 November 2024
Now that the Farming Update is out, it’s a good time to take a comprehensive look at how to feed your goblins. One of the basic facts of Goblin Camp is that your goblins need food. They’ll eat if left to their own devices, but to make sure that your goblins get regular and balanced meals, it’s good to build kitchens. While eating any food at all will keep goblins on their feet, if they don’t get all the necessary nutrients, they’ll suffer penalties to their stats. The nutrients are protein, fat and fiber. In addition, goblins also need a little bit of fresh food in their meals, or they’ll suffer from scurvy. Kitchens will automatically prepare meals with all available nutrients. To fulfill your goblins’ dietary needs, there are a variety of food sources that can be exploited in Goblin Camp. Gathering A food source that’s always available to a camp is gathering. Historically, this was by…
- v0.41.1 - Further improved farming - 11 November 2024
v0.41.1 is a minor patch to the Farming Update. Improved harvest logic and better rye efficiencies allows for large scale rye bread production for camps of 150+ goblins. Improved harvesting: Once Improved Farming is researched, goblins will perform farm harvests in a far more organized and efficient manner. This is crucial for large scale farming. Rye threshing, nettle processing and flax retting now consume full item stacks at once. This substantially increases the efficiency of these workshops, most importantly allowing for larger scale rye bread production. Increase turnip, rye stalk, nettle plant and flax strand stack sizes. Root crop harvests now take longer without the appropriate tools. Hoeing tools are used if available for root crop harvests. Use more appropriate animations for removing flora by hand. Items floating on the river that bump into a bridge now end up ontop of the b…
- More Farming Update Features - 11 November 2024
Here are some more new features from our Farming Update! We’ve made several changes to how your camp operates when it’s under attack. In the Jobs menu, you’ll notice a setting for the military draft. When enemies attack, some goblins will be drafted to help defend the camp. They’ll arm themselves with the nearest weapon, improvised or not, and won’t use shields or armor, but they’ll join in the fight to the best of their ability. You can control how many goblins are drafted in the Jobs menu. Next to the military draft controls, you’ll see similar controls for firefighters. When a fire breaks out, this controls how many goblins will get a task to fight the fire. They’ll also now be a little bit smarter about where to get water to put out the fire, and goblins will ignore fires in the forest-cover. Do remember, though, that goblins need buckets to fight fires! We’ve made storing buckets a…
- v0.41.0 - Farming Update patch notes - 4 November 2024
Feature highlights Goblin customization: The New Game Window now gives you control over your goblins' skin and hair color. Advanced Stock Manager controls. By toggling advanced mode on in the Stock Manager, you can set a "Reserve" number for items. This prevents your goblins from using up all the items for further crafts. For example, you can reserve 100 rye seeds, which ensures goblins will not use rye seeds to make flour if you own 100 or less of them. Further Advanced Stock Manager controls: In advanced mode the Stock Manager displays all recipes that produce a selected item. Each recipe can be enabled/disabled, and every recipe that has inputs can be set to automatically be produced if all the materials are available. This allows you to set wolf and crane corpses to be automatically butchered, or thread to be automatically made into rope, for example. Mucking, middens and compost: Y…
- The Farming Update - 4 November 2024
In our September roadmap, we said our next big update would be the Farming Update, and it is out now! Here's a look at some of the major features. Full patch notes here. Fertilizer Your goblins can discover fertilizer. This means they can store garbage and other suitable items in middens, where it will decompose into compost. For fields you've marked for fertilizing, they'll spread garbage or compost over them in a new farming phase called mucking. This will restore the fertility of the tiles, allowing you to farm the same land year after year. Clay Farming Researching metal digging tools will let your goblins start farming the more fertile clay lands of the forest. Combined with fertilizers, clay farming allows you to build large villages with populations of over a hundred goblins. You can also unlock Improved Farming to make farming operations faster, so that larger fields are easier…
- The Death-folk - 21 October 2024
My son can see the death-folk. He's been a seer ever since he got drunk in Kittilä and took a dead body into his arms. Enontekiö, 1930. SKS Archives We’ve talked about the prominent role that the dead have in Finnish folklore when we met one of the enemies in Goblin Camp, the grave-folk. Although the walking dead and the ghost stories of Finnish folk religion are very dramatic, most of the time, the spirits of the dead aren’t really malevolent. They’re just trying to make their way home. Like many Siberian peoples, the ancient Finnic people believed that when someone dies, their spirit travels to the land of the dead along a river. The next world was believed to be in the far north, where all the rivers ran; possibly it was reached through the great whirlpool in the northern sea, where the pillar holding up the sky met the ocean. One of the first creatures the goblins will encounter in…
- v0.40.11 - 17 October 2024
This is a bugfix release with the following changes: Cranes no longer decide to just hover above a farm plot menacingly, now they always land and eat your turnips. Meals are destroyed if a kitchen burns down during a meal. Goblins stop eating if a kitchen burns down around them. If enemies appear while a guard is eating the guard will finish their meal instantly. Fixed various pathfinding and movement issues that could occur in steep sections of the map. Fix a bug that caused items to be indefinitely reserved and end up blocking a building from being built. Fixed flax crops not generating flax properly. Stay tuned, the big Farming Update is coming soon!
- v0.40.9 - 8 October 2024
v0.40.9 contains fixes to issues that could cause saving huge maps to fail.
- The War of the Cranes and Dwarves - 7 October 2024
Ancient Finnic people would watch migrating birds flying south for the winter, and imagine - quite correctly! - that they must be headed somewhere warm. Their name for this place in Finnish was lintukoto, literally Bird-home. To this day, the word is used in Finnish to describe an idyllic, carefree place removed from the troubles of the world. This migration route also gave us our name for the Milky Way: in Finnish it’s still called linnunrata, the bird-track. In the ancient Finnic worldview, the world was something like a tent, with the world tree or mountain at the center, and the dome of the sky sloping down toward the edges of the world. If you think about it logically, that means that the further south you go, the lower the sky gets. So the ancient Finns reasoned that the people living in the far south, where the sky is low, must necessarily be very short. So they thought the peopl…
