  • GTTZ V 1.1.0.5 BETA - a patch for saves - 18 March 2024

Hey everyone, this update should fix the save-issue introduced in the last beta-update. To reiterate, I've ported the game to a new version of GMS2, so performance should be better. I've tested it, so most crashes should be fixed? The engine handles particles in a different way, so I'm not a 100 percent sure. But there are some actual fixes in here, too. Like (as previously mentioned): ːsteamthumbsupː Guns will now reload on their own if you keep jamming the fire button! ːsteamthumbsupː How soon this delayed reload will occur depends on the chosen difficulty. Also, a few bug fixes regarding reloading and player-select. A few really small changes to balancing.. AND the first heart-container in the campaign (level 2) will now always show up, loot-luck be damned. It is tucked away in a cornfield, just after crossing the bridge, right before the entrance to the forest. Thanks, that's it for…

  • GTTZ V 1.1.0.5 in BETA - 17 March 2024

Hello, just a small update for the game. If you want it, set your game to receive beta-updates! But beware: progression will start from scratch. I've ported the game to a new version of the engine and I'm currently investigating if previous saves are not compatible. Good news is that your old save will not get overwritten, so you can go back to the previous (non-beta) build. What does this actually do? Well, it's a new version of the engine, so it should run better. There are a few smaller tweaks and bugfixes One commonly requested features is added: Guns will now reload on their own if you keep jamming the fire button! Yay! How soon this delayed reload will occur depends on the chosen difficulty. See you next update! ːTheRoosterː

  • The future of Gun to the Zone - 4 February 2024

Hey there! A new update has just released after being in beta for a while. I'll also talk about the future of this game a little bit. Here's the deal: Patchnotes for V 1.1.0.4 - Fixed a possible crash on startup on Steam Deck. - Yes, this game runs on Steam Deck. It is using Proton. The game looks pretty good on an OLED ;) - Made some of the maps a little easier - It should be more feasible now to play Arenas 1 and 2 up to difficulty 15-20 - Renamed some of the entries in the main menu to more accurately reflect the map and mode - Don't like the look of a hat? Toggle hats by pressing H on the keyboard, or Back/Select on a controller - The impact effects (particles) should be a little better now - Changed some of the firing-mechanics a little bit, regarding ejecting spent bullets/shells - You can no longer single-reload SMGs, as that was a little weird and unfun - Added a "gun ready" sou…

  • This has a demo now - and another patch! - 7 January 2024

Hey there, just a small little update. Fixed some smaller issues, but also some stuff regarding the fonts in the game. All text should be more legible now. Also, this game now has a DEMO! Now you can check out a portion of the game before buying. It's also on sale for a week :) Changelog V 1.1.0.2 & V 1.1.0.3 - Changed some font-elements for dialogue boxes and general UI - Changed some of the flashlight-behavior and look - A small warning sign will now notify you of enemies spawning, barrels and cars about to explode and certain fast projectiles - Added & changed some sounds, e.g. for the drone firing a bullet or rocket - Your character will now lift certain guns UP as they reload (I think this rules, I hope you agree) - Other guns, especially the ones with single-reload will be held downward during reload - Also, the window for a perfect reload was tweaked slightly - A certain campaign…

  • Gun to the Zone Version 1.1 - 20 December 2023

Welcome back! After a lot of work, the latest update is finally released. What's in it? Quite a bit of stuff: With a Little Help From My (Drone-) Friends You have a little floating friend around, who will automatically fire at enemies. However, you will not be able to rely on this little friend 100% of the time. It can use all the weapons that are in your inventory. Some weapons are more accurate than others, of course. Every buff you collect will also buff your little drone-friend. If you focus on fewer weapons, the drone will be more effective, but won't fire as often. You can turn the drone off, but accessing the settings for the individual arenas in the main menu (right click or Y on the controller). In certain bonus rooms, the drone is deactivated by default. A Forest Some of the trees in the game have changed. They appeared pixelated before, now they're a lot more cohesive and fit…

  • Preview for V1.1 - 1 October 2023

Hey there, if you want you can opt in to the beta/preview channel to test out some new features that are coming sometime in the future. All these changes need some balancing, so expect the game to be too easy / too hard in spots. (I'm leaning towards too easy, but I'm also the dev) So, here is the list of changes, all of this is still subject to change: - Added an optional helper drone that shoots the same projectiles you can shoot - Adjusted the time it takes to aim down sights to be snappier - Added one additional hp, giving players 5 hearts at the start - Added "always auto reload" mutator to certain hats - Adjusted scoring across the board, you now score less in certain modes, or when using a helper drone - Added two additional levels to the campaign. They are accessible at higher difficulties - Replaced one of the four standard arena maps and updated the first arena map to a differ…

  • Gun to the Zone V 1.0.0.4 - 6 August 2023

Just a little patch this weekend, in preparation for some new features. Here are the changes: V 1.0.0.4 - Adjustments to weapon balance - Made the game a little easier at the outset - Some changes to enemy behavior - Minor boss is now smaller, should be a little harder to hit now - Fixes to fullscreen behavior - Implemented toggle for stretched fullscreen (on ultrawide displays, you can choose integer scaling or a stretchy image) - Additional minor bug fixes and adjustments As always you can go back to the previous patch via the beta branch!

  • Gun to the Zone V 1.0.0.3 - 16 July 2023

Hey Wanderers, this is the first bigger update for the game, with some more to come soon. Here are the changes: Changelog for V 1.0.0.3 - Implemented scale-factor for windowed resolutions: 1x or 2x - Fullscreen and window-scale will now be saved in between sessions - Fullscreen should now properly scale, even on ultrawide - it used to stretch the image. - Implemented some more variety in gun-generation - Enemies: The "Mage" should now be a bit more challenging - it will emit some projectiles when dying - Enemies: The "Runner" should take a little longer to start running at you. - It makes a distinct sound as it spawns, then has to wait a bit before attacking. - Raised thresholds for camera-movement in relation to cursor - This should let you see a little more of the action, while hopefully not causing any nausea. - Additional bug-fixes My gun just changed? You might have noticed your st…

  • GTTZ Version 1.0.0.2 - 9 July 2023

Patchnotes for V 1.0.0.2 - Added progression to the default gun: The standard pistol will get stronger at certain milestones. This rewards leveling up as well as collecting artifacts. - Added ability to switch to fullscreen by pressing ALT+ENTER - Added a shortcut to the options screen. Press ESC in the main menu. - Fixed issue with ammunition-gfx clipping in HUD - Changes to bonus games - Changed the splash-screen - Changed balance-values of some guns and buffs - Changed the abilities and stats of some enemies Have fun!

  • Hotfix for V 1.0.0.1 - 1 July 2023

This is a fix for the bonus-menu not displaying correctly under certain circumstances as a result of the latest patch.

  • GTTZ V 1.0.0.1 - 30 June 2023

Hey Wanderers, we fixed some stuff: - You're now able to grab screenshots (default F12 on steam).. this was missing before, as it was only tested on Steamdeck, where screenshots are handled differently. - Adjusted some prices in the shop. The high end items are now priced a bit higher. Other things are cheaper. - Adjusted the order in which the bonus maps are accessed - You can now properly die on the first level with all the birds. You're welcome! - Changed the hit-marker a bit, now it is white and will hopefully stand out more.

  • Who will beat the final boss first? - 30 June 2023

If you purchased GTTZ, thank you very much! Launching the day before a Steam sale was probably a boneheaded move, but here we are. Anyway, Endut Dev here. Have you ever seen this in game? It's a boss. Not a minor boss, but a final boss. Some of you have beaten one or a few of these guys. Congratulations! But there IS an actual final boss to this game. None of you have beaten it yet. All I can say is this: the final boss is a pretty steep challenge. So, let's see who can beat it first! Send us a screenshot of the credits rolling or the final boss dying and prove that you're the best! ːrisenheroː

  • GTTZ is now available - 28 June 2023

Congratulations! You just discovered GTTZ. The game is now finally on Steam. The whole team at Endut Games could not be any more proud. We sincerely hope you enjoy this little game. We had a lot of fun creating it. Now for the FAQ: Does this run on Steam Deck? Yes! It definitely runs on ours. Pretty well, actually. It uses Proton, so no native Linux port, sorry. Is this game finished, or Early Access? We consider this 1.0 - a finished game, that will take most people hours to finish. However, we do plan on updating the game if there is demand for more features. And there might be some bugs to squash :) This looks like Brotato or something. Is it a bullet hell survival? Nah, this is more oldschool. A top down shooter. But there are some rogue-lite elements to it! I don't like arcade games. Is this any good? This is not really an arcade game, you're not competing for points. There is a go…

  • Gun to the Zone awaits - 27 June 2023

We're getting pretty excited over here! The wait is finally over. Gun to the Zone is about to release. This was started all the way back in 2019, then picked up again during the pandemic. You could say it is VERY polished now. But that's definitely a matter of personal taste. A few tips before we go: There is a lot of weird stuff in this game. Some of it is hidden. Like the intro. Just wait at the title screen. If you stand still for a while, the characters will do stuff. They'll even celebrate if you've completed a wave or a level. The game might be too easy (or too hard) for you. But you can press the right mouse button / the triangle or Y button on a controller to flip the cards in the main menu, revealing additional options, including difficulty. If you've finished one of the modes.. go back in, things will be a bit harder. This might even help you later on! This game is designed to…
