• GGX In Gothenburg! - 21 August 2024

  As I'm working on my demo (a big one...), I have been sidetracked for a week or two by the GGX event on September 20-21 in Gothenburg. RunicCodes will be there! I'm about to show of my game for the first time ever, but since it's such an enormous mini-open world adventure, I thought it would be impossible to get any feedback from guests by simply letting them play the game without any objectives. So, I did it the RunicCodes way; I went all in. I've sealed off a small portion of the game and created an "in-game GGX event" where you can stroll around and talk to the locals - also, your date Sakura-Chan is waiting for you there! Some of the dialogues are from the original game, while others are made just for this event. The idea is to give the player a feel for the game and delve into the bombastic dialogue system and my super diverse cast of characters. I've been extremely busy making UI…

• Sunset Moon - Makeover - 31 July 2023

  Short video showing of how the graphics will improve towards the end of the development. Graphics ain't all, but I want to assure you, dear gamer, that the final game is gonna look stellar! (Even better then what you see in this Makeover video.) As I'm getting better and better to make games I learn from my mistakes and this time around I'm focusing on making sure ALL systems work before I bother with polishing the graphics. The graphics is also the most fun part of the development, soooo, there is a personal reward for me towards the end of the development!

• Conversation Tree - FINALY DONE! - 10 July 2023

  Not much gameplay to show this week, apart from a funny glitch I ran across... All NPCs acted like the Janitor (Who's job is to fix all the stuff you break while playing the game...) The conversation tree is super complex and I'm so exited its finally done! You can have: - Normal conversation based on your class, season, event, quest etc. - Conversation based on Events (Midsummer, Xmas, New Year etc). - Give and get reactions based on the NPCs likings. - Heart To Heart moments. Once you get to know someone, he might ask you more in-depth stuff where your job is to navigate the conversation to make the NPC feel better and increase the NPCs friendship. - Quests. In order to increase the NPCs friendships, do a side quest or two for them! - Special Events. If you visited certain places, made certain choices, the conversation can alter based on those. - Get married, divorces, married again e…

• Midsummer on Sunset Moon - 28 June 2023

  One of many events on Sunset Moon. This event originates from Scandinavian Culture and I thought it would be neat to have it in the game. My grandfather Rune and his brother Kurt gathered their children and grandchildren to compete in 5 silly challenges. The winning Family got to bring home a Fish made of glass and keep it as a pride and joy until next year where the same fish was up for grabs to the winning team. I will try to re-create some of the challenges in Sunset Moon for the player to enjoy. 1. Potato Sack Jumping 2. Egg Balance Walk 3. Rope-Kampf 4. Best-in-Bed 5. Intelligence test Also teamed up with Team-MAX, very famous Japanese Studio, who will be providing Music for the game. The music you hear is the "Midsummer-Theme" By Johannes/Team-MAX.

• Ancient alphabet in Sunset Moon - 19 June 2023

  This week I show you how I made an ancient alphabet that will appear in my game, by using my 2 year old child's mind. My brother and I managed to figure out the alphabet appearing in Morrowind back in the day and I really enjoyed it. I want to bring that kind of exploration to Sunset Moon as well - to players who bother to figure it out, certain events may be unlocked.
