- 2 Year Anniversary! - 1 August 2025
Hello, Catalysts!! It's been 2 years since release! Boy, time flies, doesn't it?As I said in the Dev Update, this game's pretty much done-and-done! I'm real satisfied with where it's ended up and the reception it's got. Still, cool milestone! I had to post SOMETHING for it.Actually! While we're here! How about I post OLD DEVELOPMENT SCREENSHOTS?Behold, the first ever gif i recorded for Settlemoon:Placing buildings was the first thing I got working and it kinda all revolved around that. That building sprite is unused in the final game, but you CAN get it in your town if one of your buildings ends up being invalid.Originally, items were going to be made using combinations of materials, instead of just dropping a single material to instantly make an item. The whole recipe thing ended up being really complex...too complex for this kind of game! I eventually brought it back as a sort of puzz…
- v2.4c - Better Backups - 2 June 2025
Hello, Catalysts! This update's intended to help the game be a little more self-sufficient. I noticed some very rare bugs where some save files would be partially corrupted. To help with that, I've beefed up the backup system and added a Load Backup menu in the title screen. There's also a couple other bits of UI improvements; Steam screenshots should now work again (yay!) and I added a "time remaining" section to the loading screen. This is a...partial fix. I noticed a (again, very rare) bug where the loading screen would get stuck and I'm unsure if it's just processing a lot of time or if it's legit getting stuck somewhere. With that change, if it happens again (IF...) then that'll help narrow it down. It's also just really cool to watch how much time it's simulating. MENUS/UI: The title screen now includes a menu for loading backup files. There are 5 layers of backups as well as one…
- Lepioid Update: Been a bit! - 12 May 2025
Hello, Catalysts! It's been a while, hasn't it? I hope everyone's been enjoying the game in its current state! Honestly, this silly lil' idle game did much better than I ever thought it would. Thanks! but that begs the question...what have I been up to in the meantime? What about the game? Will X bugs ever be fixed???? What has Lepioid LLC been doing? if the game hasn't been updated, what have I been doing? Well, recently, I got together with some cool friends and made another game: Dreams of Aether! It's a fun little microgame collection that was a blast to work on. Check it out here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3463050/Dreams_of_Aether/ Once we got that all finished, I kinda had to take a break from gamedev, haha. It was kind of a marathon! But obviously I'd never stay away forever, so I'm looking to get back into the thick of it. Make some new things, update some old things, a…
- v2.4b - Outlines and Onboards - 26 January 2025
Hello, Catalysts! So, technically this is a smaller patch, hence why it's v2.4b and not v2.5. There's no new big features or buildings or anything in this, but there's a lot of little changes that add up, and some of them affect a lot of what you're looking at. Namely: Text outlines!! Adventurer names and button labels have outlines on the text now, which changes the "visual identity" of the game a lot IMO. I'm a bit of a stickler for visual details. I also rewrote the tutorial card to make it flow a lot better and unlock in piecemeal; i noticed a lot of players just skimmed through the card and forgot about it, since they didn't have any context for what they were reading. Now it should stay a lot more relevant! UI: Held items are a little more...glowy. Added new cooler-looking UI for hold clicking. Adventurer nametags and button numbers have outlines now! Extra readability. Fixed a 0…
- v2.4a - Small hotfix for boss quests - 18 December 2024
Hello again! Tiny fix. Teeny fix. Probably not going to be the only fix. You know how these things go. QUESTS: Fixed a crash when attempting to pay for a boss quest. Added a failsafe if you somehow don't get the milestone for a boss clear the first time; it'll now attempt to re-unlock it every time you pay for the quest.
- v2.4 - Tidying Up(date) - 18 December 2024
Hello, Catalysts! Hope those cold winter nights are treating you well. Or if you're on the southern hemisphere, those warm summer nights. I'm not jealous. Here's an update that smooths a lot of things out. Most notably is the Full Restock feature; in the Dropped Items menu, you'll find a big bag full of stuff. Dropping that on a shop will automatically cram every item it can from your dropped items into that building, meaning you can restock a building you just placed (or replaced) REALLY quickly. Besides that, there's a lot of weird UI things fixed! Nothing super revolutionary on its own but it should add up to be a smoother experience overall. Crash fixes, guild fixes, UI adjustments, new options, all that good stuff! ADVENTURERS: Added 5 new hats and heads. More kobolds will show up after clearing certain things. Friends without names now display a more generic name with "BUD 1", "BU…
- v2.3a - Building Removal Hotfix - 5 October 2024
Hello! Just some quick fixes for some pretty important things. Deleting buildings permanently is pretty bad. BUILDINGS: Fixed buildings not going back into storage when you remove them with another building. Fixed the ferris wheel leaving behind the base when removed via the renovator. (It was actually left behind when you delete it normally, just invisible. Whoops!) Fixed the phonograph not being solid. When the town is renovating, the camera only moves to the newest building's position when it's offscreen.
- v2.3 - The Renovator Update - 4 October 2024
Hello, Catalysts! This update's got some very highly sought-after improvements for how building things works. Most notably, Decorations have had a huge rebalancing. They're now a lot stronger and more interesting to place down; As a decor takes up more space, the range it reaches gets further while the boost it provides gets weaker. This means you can get a LOT of decor overlapping one building to supercharge it. Not only that, there's now what I call the Town Renovator! You now have three little snow globes in the buildings menu. Using one of these will swap out your ENTIRE town with whatever you have already stored in there. It's a really fast way to change your town's layout, or just bulldoze everything and try something new. That's the most notable changes, but there's more than that! Here's the full patch notes: BUILDINGS (Features): Added a Town Renovator! You can swap out your to…
- v2.2 - The One Year Anniversary Update! - 1 August 2024
Hello, Catalysts! It's been one whole year since the game first released, and I couldn't be happier with how everything has gone. To celebrate, we've updated the game with some anniversary-related things, as well as some good old quality-of-life to hopefully make the early parts of the game easier and less...confusing. Maybe on my next game I should just explain everything with text, haha. BUILDINGS: Added 3 new floor types: Brick, Quilt and Classic Rock Added an anniversary shop! Sells random fireworks and a party hat. Added a new set of decor! Things hanging on ropes, a new late-game flower, and a FIRE JET. Normal stuff. Increased capacity per-item of Warehouses, 99 -> 999 Fixed the Incinerator not being solid. Fixed a Hitching Post decor being buried in the ground. PROGRESSION: Some old envelopes have appeared in the menus...They point out the basics of how each menu works. They show…
- v2.1b - Small NG+/Building hotfix - 8 June 2024
Hello again, Catalysts! Very small hotfix today for some pretty important bugs. BUGFIXES: Fixed a crash that happens when first starting NG+. Fixed buildings becoming intangible if you cancel moving one.
- v2.1a - Some Visual Fixes - 2 June 2024
Hello again, Catalysts! As is the nature of game development, no patch can survive being un-hotfixed for long. Here's some visual fixes regarding some new things added in v2.1. ADVENTURERS: Fixed falling adventurers teleporting onscreen from above. Made pets less prone to taking a bunch of tiny steps. ITEMS: Fixed some missing names in new items. Fixed incorrect sprites with some gem items. Fixed negative stats on items using the wrong icons.
- v2.1 - The Very Useful Things update - 1 June 2024
Hello, Catalysts! Pretty big update! New buildings, new cards, and a WHOLE lot of little tweaks here and there to make things smoother. If you're playing on the Steam Deck, everything should properly adapt to it now! Also important is a controls menu! Wow! I'm so adamant on developers adding these, yet I didn't add one to my own game. How hypocritical...UNTIL NOW. PROGRESSION: Added a Rabbit & Steel cameo! It should show up after Boss 3 becomes available. Added Hint Cards that you get as you progress through the game. These should have (still cryptic) hints on how some mechanics work. (hopefully) fixed the ending not accounting for placed buildings. Most cards you get are now non-dismissable until you get to the end of them. Fixed the tutorial card re-view on the main menu playing the unlock animation. BUILDINGS: Added a Warehouse! These evenly distribute materials you put in them acros…
- v2.0f - More friends and some fixes - 11 April 2024
Hello, Catalysts! A good bunch of you have cleared NG+ now. Good to see it! There were a bunch of reports of friends lists having some weirdness when it hits the limit. Along with fixing that, I made the file compress the same way others do, which means I can afford to increase the friends limit without changing the file size! Yay! MENUS: Increased the friend limit to 125. Have fun! Fixed the friends list getting all weird if you hit the limit. Fixed recently-added friends forgetting they're already in town if the game is restarted. PROGRESSION: In sidequest 6, fixed an NPC saving incorrectly if the game closes during a crucial moment. BUILDINGS: Fixed the giant pillar in NG+ being highlighted as buildable when you can't afford it. The brewery now shows that materials can be put into it when you hover over them. TECHNICAL STUFF: Applied some compression to the friends file. This shouldn…
- v2.0e - The shovel hotfix - 1 April 2024
Hello, excavating Catalysts! Do you like shovels? Do you like shovels that don't break? Then this update is for you. SHOVEL: Fixed picking up invisible buttons when using the shovel. Adjusted the final photo of the shovel sidequest. Made a couple of the shovel spots easier to hit. Fixed a crash when double-clicking the shovel. Fixed a crash when trying to pick up a material while holding the shovel and vice versa. The shovel.
- v2.0d - More fixes + you can sit on benches now! - 31 March 2024
Hello, Catalysts! Another hotfix. Smoothing things out. You know the drill. In addition to bugfixes, though, you can now SIT ON BENCHES AND STUFF. You can click on your adventurer to make them interact with the building they're standing in front of, if they can. Otherwise they'll just jump in place. Woohoo! MENUS: Fixed not being able to swap outfits. The exit confirmation menu now waits until the game is done saving to actually close the game. The exit confirmation menu now suppresses automatic updates like most other menus do. Cards with objective counters now highlight the counter when showing unlocks. It's also been moved lower. During the tutorial, the double click prompt now blinks faster. ADVENTURERS: You can now click on yourself to interact with buildings like other adventurers do. Fixed rearranging the friends list not updating in-town adventurers correctly. Fixed guildmembers…
- v2.0c - Fast lil crash hotfix! - 30 March 2024
Hello again, Catalysts!! Very small fast hotfix for this; we were getting reports of a very strange crash. Remember when I said "Everything's proooobably okay"? Turns out that wasn't entirely true, haha. We'll be keeping an eye out on any other issues. THE ONLY PATCH NOTE: Fixed a crash on load when a cocoon attempted to spawn.
- v2.0b - The "moths make noises now" update - 29 March 2024
Hello, Catalysts! Nice lil' QoL and bugfix patch here. Most notably, moths and beetles make NOISES when you click them now. Hopefully that's not too startling! Also, that "New Discoveries" tab's weird behavior is fixed. It shouldn't send you into an empty menu anymore. Also changed a bunch of stuff under the hood that SHOULDN'T affect anything. Everything's proooobably okay. BUILDINGS: Clickable town-things (moths, shrines) no longer react on certain menus. (buildings and visitors) Moths and Beetles now make noises when you click them. Fixed some missing item names in the geode shop. MENUS: Materials and Item menus now support rapid-click: hold it down and sweep over the buttons to grab a sampling of all of them Fixed the "New Discoveries" building filters locking you in an empty buildings menu. The building filters menu now updates live as buildings are marked as seen. Changed the name…
- v2.0a - NG+ Hotfix - 26 March 2024
Hello, Catalysts! Small hotfix for some things that could stall things out in NG+ as well as a couple other things that snuck in. No categories this time, not really enough notes for that. (heehee) Fixed an unruly cooldown timer on NG+ NPC appearances. Fixed some unnamed items. Fixed the rapid click hotkey buzzing when holding it over an empty button.
- The New Moon+ Update is Here! - 25 March 2024
Hello, Catalysts! Version 2.0, The New Moon+ Update, is finally here! This update adds a whole bunch of new things to do once everything's all done and you start NG+. There's also a bunch of QoL and bugfixes to smooth things out regardless of how much you've progressed. The New Moon+ stuff puts a twist on the usual mechanics you've gotten used to over the course of the game. Perform alchemy, build rides and do more weird stuff! Complete these side-objectives and you'll learn more about Settlemoon's history and inner workings. If you've got a town in late-game NG+, I'd GENTLY recommend waiting until your next loop to start the new content. It's not necessary, though! You'll just have a real big head-start on the new content due to having a bunch of bosses beaten and stacks of resources. It might be a little overwhelming! For a more detailed FAQ on starting this update, check out this thr…
- Store Page and Regional Pricing Updated - 13 March 2024
Hello! Time for an update outside of the game itself; we've updated some regional prices that use USD to match the recommended price. They are now as follows: CIS: $8.49 South Asia: $6.99 LATAM: $7.99 MENA: $7.99 Also, we've updated the store page to be a little more filled out now. It's even got little GIFs and headers and stuff! Check it out!
