- Patch 4 - Combat Speed Update! - 28 November 2025
We’re excited to announce that we’ve checked another box on our roadmap to 1.0!Grifford Academy version 0.1.5 is now live, featuring a new Combat Speed control in settings. Reduce wait times between turns and speed up combat animations by choosing 1x, 1.5x, 2x, or 3x to play at your preferred pace. - Patch 3 - Change Personal Weapon's Affinity Feature! - 11 November 2025
A few months ago, we surveyed our beta players on improvements that they would most like to see in Grifford Academy. The winning choice was the ability to adapt the affinity of each character’s primary weapon to reflect changes in item Affinity Point spend. For those who have not yet played Grifford Academy, each of our main characters previously had a personal item/weapon with a fixed affinity assigned to it; either physique, intellect or spirit. Take Erika for example. She starts as a physique-based character with a physique-based hockey stick. But what happens if you wanted to respec for into a Spirit based player? She’s stuck with the same weapon, thats no longer as effective.We saw this problem as an amazing opportunity. Grifford Academy will now be launching into Early Access on June 25th, moving up from our originally announced July 8th date! When we first set our July timeline, it was because we weren't sure if we able to hit the original date so we gave ourselves a buffer just in case. We came to the realization that the new date would've landed in the Steam Summer Sale, not exactly the ideal time for indie games like ours to launch. With so many discounted games competing for attention, it wasn't the ideal time for a launch title. This shift gives Grifford Academy a better chance to find its audience during a key discovery window, and we’re confident it’s ready for players to experience.
