  • Nidhogg s Fencer Saunters Into Divekick, Sword And All - 25 November 2015

Bringing a sword to a kickfight seems unsporting, but I’m not sure what a fighting tournament would expect when inviting a warrior who wants nothing more than to be devoured by a giant serpent. The fantastic Nidhogg’s Fencer has arrived in Divekick , bringing their big pixel style and flingable sword to the two-button fighting game (guess what those two buttons do). The Fencer is the final character added to Divekick, rolled out in a free update yesterday. The game also scored a price cut. …

  • Impressions: Divekick - 21 August 2013

Divekick is the simplest game you’ll ever play. Setting two opposing characters against one another with the same ability, there’s little to learn. There’s no direct control of left/right movement, one button jumps, the other performs the titular maneouvre (thus moving forward) or leaps you backwards if grounded. Each impact with an opposing player is an instant KO and the first to five wins the battle. Characters are different only in the angle and speed of their one attack and the size of their body. Five minutes in you’ll know everything. Which is why Divekick is the most complex game you’ll ever play. (more…)

  • Now Available - Divekick - 20 August 2013

Divekick is Now Available on Steam Divekick is the world’s first two-button fighting game. It distills the essence of the fighting game genre into just two buttons with no d-pad directional movement. Divekick’s focused gameplay demonstrates how much depth a single move actually has, and introduces (or reinforces) skills fundamental to the genre: mind games, spacing, timing, and quick reactions.
