• Wild Fields - 2 February 2024

  In Botanical Warden, The way you can customize your plants and acquire new ones is by exploring wild fields. These are places you can visit between the battles in which you can also heal yourself with and find characters with which you can interact and trade. There are 3 main ways you can customize your deck in wild fields: domesticate wild plants, use artificial selection to evolve a plant you already have or hybridize two plants by merging them into one. We'll describe each of these further in future updates. The main resource you'll be using in fields is water, you'll need to choose if you want to spend it to heal yourself or customize your deck. You can also drain wild plants to sacrifice them for water. By the way, stay tuned for news about an upcoming beta very soon!

• Grow Your Weapons - 26 October 2023

  If you’ve read our last update, you might have learned that the Etziarbes and the other tribes in Botanical Warden use plants only as weapons. One of the reasons for is their lack of botanical knowledge. Another reason is that some plants grow to become actual weapons such as daggers and axes. In Botanical Warden’s combat, the plants that grow to become weapons allow the player to receive equipment cards for the duration of a fight. Equipment cards are very strong cards that allow the player to use powerful attacks, but require a lot of patience to obtain. Most weapon plants have to survive on the grid for a few turns until the plant is ready to be collected, which then grants the player with the corresponding equipment card. Those cards offer a variety of actions and offer a good supplement to the more traditional plants that act on their own in battle. --- Don't forget to wishlist the…

• Escaping the Bird people - 30 August 2023

  Corvac, the main character in Botanical Warden, is a member of the Etziarbes, a small group of humanoid birds struggling to survive in a desert region of the island of Alerbia. Their main rule has always been to stay on their territory and to interact as little as possible with the other tribes of Alerbia in order to stay safe. Like all of the peoples of the island, they use plants mainly as weapons and have to hunt for food. One day, Corvac has a vision of plants being used in all sorts of ways, such as food, medecine, shelter and clothing. He wakes up with an unshakeable conviction that the only way the Etziarbes will survive into the future is by conquering the island, taking all of the tribes plants and building a botanical paradise able to sustain his people for millennia. The Etziarbes are not convinced by Corvac's plan and think he's gone insane. He will have to fight them first…

  We're really happy to announce Botanical Warden! An upcoming tactical roguelike deckbuilder in which plants are used as weapons and tools. Plants can be totally transformed by using an open evolution system and precisely customized with a plant fusion mechanic.
