- Chapter 3 is coming to Steam on October 5th! - 29 September 2026
September 29th came and we have already slowly started distributing Chapter 3.And so, it’s official: It’ll be coming to Steam on October 5th.The steam update will be free for those who already own the game, and, if you don’t own it already, do not buy it yet. There’s a Fall Sale coming on October 1st in which the game will have a 20% discount. Some more technical details below, but first, let’s get sappy.Grogu (Artist): Saying this chapter was not a challenge would be a lie tan grande como una casa.So many things went wrong throughout its development and despite each setback, we didn’t give up and kept going. First of all, because it’s a game we would love to play, and one we believe in and, secondly, because we have so much love for it all: for our characters, our story, our vision on why we choose to do this. Each time we go through the story or we see our renders, it’s a reminder of…

Chapter 3 is coming September 2026, this is not a drill.Alright, okay, I just need a second to go “aaaaaaaah” because that’s how Grogu and I have been feeling these past two weeks! But, this time, in the best way possible. We pushed this devlog just a little until we were certain Chapter 3 was 99% done and… well, here we are. We’ll be tweaking a few more things before sending it out to beta testers but it’s done and I can feel my chest tightening just typing those words out.Sappy feelings out of the way, let’s get into the technical stuff. While there’s no updates with the GPU situation, Grogu has managed to (slowly) get everything out. And even through that, something I don’t think I’ve talked about enough before is… the fuck?!I’d write a whole paragraph about how damn good this chapter looks, but I think the images speak for themselves. I thought working on the code myself would depriv…

Hey there, Stranger! I’m hoping you read that with a Merchant accent. I also hope you’re all doing great! We’re doing fine ourselves, only that Buenos Aires hasn’t seen the sun for weeks and that’s driving me a bit insane but oh well (yes, I’ll continue to complain about the weather till Spring comes along). This past week I worked on the bits I felt were missing for Becca and they’ve made all the difference. I will probably be editing them in the near future, but that’s not a big deal. Most of the editing for her scenes involves making her sentences shorter, because she doesn’t speak much unless she’s fully comfortable. So I’ll usually read a scene back and be like ‘nope, that’s too long to sound like Becca’ and cut a lot of words out.Grogu has finally gotten hold of the GPU this past Sunday and the number of renders per day has already grown substantially so we’re both super excited ab…

Hello, Strangers! Happy Pride Month to those who celebrate! First of all, thank you so much to everyone who has engaged in the comments in our last few posts. You guys have given me a lot of ideas I’d like to write about in some behind-the-scenes articles, and we always enjoy reading your comments and sharing them between the two of us.So, we’re supposed to be releasing the Early Version of CH3 by the end of June. Is that still realistic? Let’s see. From my side, I was fortunate enough to stumble upon one of those crazy adrenaline rushes you get after you’ve been sick for a while and finished all my writing tasks from the previous week and this one, so I’m moving on to coding some extra stuff that’ll make our lives easier in the future.Oh, I almost forgot. There’s one particular scene with Becca which, while revising the code, felt way too rushed for my liking. This week, I will be editi…
- Strangers on Paper - Devlog #14 - 27 May 2026
Hello, strangers! Gizmo here, writer (and now coder?!) for SoP. We hope you’ve had a lovely week and, if you're from our patria, a wonderful 25 de Mayo with locro, churros, empanadas or whatever the hell you enjoy the most. As for us, we’ve been a bit under the weather (3°C in May should be illegal but, yeah, winter is just around the corner) yet we’ve managed to pull through. This week we went over pending corrections for some of the renders and writing in Amy’s path as planned and there was just a ‘little’ hiccup there. The video card Grogu wanted to purchase is out of stock until later this week, so for now some of the missing images are still on queue to be rendered sloooowly. Once that wretched card is in his power, he’ll be unstoppable. This crab has seen things. Soon you will too.As I’ve mentioned in an earlier devlog, I’ve been learning RenPy to help Grogu out with it so this week…

Uff, where do we start? First of all, THANK YOU ALL! Holy shit. We’ll get a little bit more into our personal feelings and progress with everything that’s been happening down below, but let’s hit it off with the news we want to deliver the most.GoalsIt’s funny, we’ve always been somewhat protective of our progress, yet the more we share, the more comfortable we feel with you guys as a community. With the weekly updates we’ve been doing during these weeks of fundraising, we’ve figured out we want to go back to doing weekly devlogs updating you on everything taking place working towards the release of Chapter 3.As of right now, these are the next goals we’ll be diving into:THIS WEEK: Brushing up missing/failed renders and some of the writing for the last scene in Amy’s path. Revising coding for Becca’s path.NEXT WEEK & 1st WEEK OF JUNE: Finalizing renders for Amy’s last scene. Full revisio…
- Strangers on Paper - Devlog #12 - 2 March 2026
Hello there Strangers,This devlog was supposed to come out at the end of last month. I had started writing it back then, telling you all about how we were very excited about all the insane progress we managed to get through the holidays, how hopeful we were for the future, and how close we were to releasing an early version for our beta testers. And then, that same week, Grogu’s PC decided the hot render queue nights in the South American summer were just too much to handle and gave up. This is the… third? time that this has happened since the beginning of this chapter's development, and it was yet again devastating not only in regards to SoP but also because Grogu uses his PC for work as well. I’ll pass him the mic to go into some of the more technical stuff, because it’s way more complicated (and just worse in general) than I’m making it up to be.Grogu: I was very fortunate to have re…
- Strangers on Paper - Devlog #11 - 2 January 2026
Last year, we used to talk about this Christmas between the two of us. At one point, it was our biggest (and most ambitious) goal that we would have finished SoP by this time. Things couldn’t be more different in our lives individually to where we were when we said that, and yet, one thing hasn’t changed: as a team, we are still here for our game. Despite trials and tribulations, we still get excited over every little step we take in development. We still push and encourage each other, we still show up to do our best, we still look for new ways to do things. I want to sit here with this page and acknowledge that because there’s no hiding that things have been awfully rough. We’ve been trying to communicate with you guys through the process of it all - and failing because we always tell each other “we’ll write a post when we have a build to share” and that is simply and depressingly not…
- Strangers on Paper - Devlog #10 - 18 September 2025
We’ll start off with the statement we don’t love making but we feel is necessary: We have decided to delay the release of Chapter 3 to the end of 2025. Our main goal has always been to deliver the best version of our game we can, and we have found that was not possible within the timeframe we had originally set for ourselves. The last thing we want is to deliver a rushed, unpolished chapter that doesn’t match our expectations nor yours. For this reason we are still keeping the exact date somewhat vague until we feel confident to make the launch happen, and you’ll be the first to know when we set one. While we are just as impatient as you guys to play the next chapter and we apologize for making the wait even longer, we know this is the best call right now. That being said, we want to emphasize how much your words of support mean to us. At times, the guilt to write these types of posts h…
- Strangers on Paper - Devlog #9 - 7 August 2025
From Grogu:I know we haven't been very communicative since our last devlog, and I thought it's time to talk about some things. This year, for reasons I’ll get into later on, I had a pretty slow start. I'd developed a pretty decent rhythm of rendering by the time of the announcement (which is why we went with the ‘Summer’ window, giving ourselves September 20th as the latest release date), yet I kept encountering too many issues I hadn't predicted.I mentioned before that the best way I’ve found to speed up the process is to leave my PC rendering batches of renders overnight. The thing is, whenever I do this, I cannot watch what's happening and there's been some batches that kept coming out with strange issues, like wrong hair color, shirts that didn't conform the characters’s body (you wouldn’t believe the amount of renders I’ve had to redo due to this) and many others that have been not…
- Strangers on Paper - Devlog #8 - 3 June 2025
We gave this one a lot of thought before making the posters. While we do have a date in mind for the official release, we know from experience that corrections, beta-testing, music licensing, translations and many other things can get in the way of our expectations, and so we opted for a larger window: Summer (for the Northern Hemisphere... it’s actually winter down here). We hope you enjoy the Q&A!
- Strangers on Paper - Devlog #7 - 26 April 2025
Because we’ve welcomed a lot of you with the release of SoP, I feel compelled to once again remind you we like to use dev logs as some sort of progress journal entries. This is definitely one of those. This past month has been quite a stale one. Progress was made, yes, but not remotely as much as we’d been making - nor as much as we’d projected ourselves. That may be just that, a projection problem, since by now we should know, we should remember that we work in powerful bursts, then small periods of detaching ourselves from this for a bit, only to come back with full force. In my search for possible culprits, I’d like to blame the fact that I don’t write these dev logs as weekly entries anymore, and therefore don’t keep track of our progress as neatly as we used to (although that’s a lie, I’m pretty sure if I go back and read the earliest ones, there’ll be a bunch of “wow, we’re so sur…
- Strangers on Paper - Devlog #6 - 9 March 2025
It’s been a very happy first month on Steam for SoPita. We’d like to thank each and every one of you who have supported us by getting your own copy, we couldn’t be happier with how it’s been received. We know our game is quite different from most others in the same category and it’s immensely heartwarming to see that many of you view that in a positive light. These past few months, our energy and time was focused into working towards that release, and looking back, it was a much needed break, even if (very) frustrating at times. It allowed us to gain some distance from what we’d been working on so far, and come back to it with fresh eyes, giving it a much-needed makeover of rewriting, re-rendering, maybe re-dying someone’s hair a different color. It also allowed us to see things from more of a player-perspective and to realize we’ll probably have to update some tags/descriptions of the…
- Thank you! - 10 February 2025
We’d like to thank everyone who has been supporting the game so far! If you've been enjoying your time with it, we'd love to hear your thoughts in a review on the Steam page. Your feedback helps us and future players a lot! And, for those of you who are new here, we figured it wouldn’t hurt to bring back an updated FAQ of the game. What kind of sexual content are you planning to include in this game? Let’s get this out of the way first. SOP is not a story about sex. It is a story with sex, but it doesn’t set out to explore kinks specifically, so the content here will be on the tamer side. We have nothing against games depicting other preferences, we just didn’t feel that type of content fits the story we are telling here. Do you have the whole story planned out already? How long is it going to be? The game will be four chapters long, with the last one possible including an epilogue. The…
- Strangers on Paper is Now Out on Steam! - 6 February 2025
In celebration of the release, here's an excerpt from a little interview we did to one another a while ago: Grogu: Any message you would send to people who are just starting out with SoP and who have played other AVNs on what they might find here that could be “different”? Gizmo: I never liked comparing much (although it’s inevitable) but, in very general terms, I would say SoP has a lot of emphasis on the story and your journey with it and the characters. That some choices in it really matter, and some others are a “bacon omelet or belgian waffle” sort of thing (Life is Strange reference), and it’s intentional because, well, that’s life itself. That it has adult content, but that’s not the focus of the story, neither something I would personally categorize as “porn”. That we don’t think of the story in terms of “tags”. Things that people may be used to in AVNs such as “lesbian”, “harem…
- 7 DAYS - 30 January 2025
So... we're one week away from release day. That's INSANE. At this point, there's not much left to say other than we truly hope you guys enjoy playing this game as much as we have been enjoying making it. We're already hard at work with the following chapters and can't wait for you to see them! We will leave you some previews from chapters 1 & 2 and go back to counting down the days!
- 🚨 Strangers on Paper Chapters 1 & 2 will be out on Steam February 6 🚨 - 14 January 2025
After countless hours of coding, designing, re-designing, testing, testing... and even more testing, we're excited to announce that Strangers on Paper will officially launch on February 6th! 🎉🎉 Starting the new year with some reflections… DLCs When discussing what “extra content” we could add on Steam for players, we went with our usual train of thought: What would we buy from a game we love? We started with what felt more obvious, a little walkthrough guide to unlock all content (this one will come with the game). Then we thought of wallpapers with art by Grogu, and eventually we came up with a third item. I’m an absolute sucker for extra shit - I’ve read each and every entry of Max’s journal in Life Is Strange, or April’s diary in The Longest Journey, binged through every behind-the-scenes clip of Detroit: Become Human, not to mention the artbooks! Sooo, making our own little pdf wi…
- SoP December Update - 27 December 2024
Happy Holidays everyone! With 2024 almost over, we hope you’re having a wonderful (if not, at least not-too-terribly-stressful) time. As for us, we’re indeed in a very festive mood because we can finally say we are pretty much DONE with everything Steam-related! It’s been the bane of our existence for a while, and now we feel as if this heavy weight has been lifted off our shoulders and, except for some minor adjustments we may need to come up with, we can now devote all our energy just into Chapter 3 of SoP. Just writing that alone feels exciting because, although we are excited to release the game on that platform, it hasn’t really felt like truly moving forward in a while, and both Grogu and I need that as much as we hope you’re looking forward to it. We will only share a release date once the build gets fully approved by Steam, which should not be too long from now, so, yay! Until t…
- SoP Update! - 21 November 2024
You know when you really want to release your game on Steam but then completely forget Steam dev logs are a thing? No? Just us? Dang it. It’s been quite a long time and we figured for this one we’d go back to basics, so… Hi! We’re Gizmo and Grogu, both from Argentina, two strangers who bonded over their passion to bring stories of their own creation to life. Gizmo is the writer, while Grogu is the coder and artist. We’ve been working on SoP while managing full-time jobs and so far it’s been nothing but challenging and incredibly rewarding all the same. What started as a “let’s make a silly short game” soon became a project that we have become really proud of, and to which we’ve been devoting as much of our free time as we can, not to mention a lot of love. As cheesy as it sounds, the more progress we make with it, the more we want it to see it succeed. You may have read on the Steam pag…
- Strangers on Paper new devlog! - 13 June 2024
Today’s update is a short one! We’ve been writing too much lately, so this dev log is mainly for your visual pleasure. As for what we’ve been up to these past two weeks: Testing, last-minute changes, and more testing. So much fun (actually, I meant to be ironic but I do low-key love it until it gets a bit too much). Anyways, we hope you enjoy these previews!
