- Celebrating World Pangolin Day with Asurya's Embers! - 21 February 2024
Happy (belated) World Pangolin Day from the Asurya's Embers team! Our studio acknowledges that while one of game enemies is represented by a mutated colossal pangolin, we disavow any endorsement or encouragement of violence directed toward these remarkable creatures. Approximately 200,000 pangolins annually fall victim to poaching activities, thereby significantly endangering their existence within their indigenous habitats spanning Africa and Asia. Pangolins are identified as one of the most heavily trafficked mammals globally. As a unified team, we have, in a symbolic gesture, undertaken the adoption of a Pangolin through a contribution to the World Wildlife Fund. Our goal is for wildlife preservation initiatives to persist and prosper. We hope this inspires developers and players worldwide to use their resources to ongoing conservation efforts. Looking forward to our mutated enemies…
- Happy Chinese New Year from the Asurya's Embers Team! - 16 February 2024
Happy Lunar New Year from all of us from the Asurya's Embers team! With our community page now live, allow us a moment to introduce ourselves. We are a group of 24, multinational student-developers at SMU Guildhall. We made Asurya's over the course of an 18-week period, exclusively working during core development hours (Monday-Friday, 10:00 - 1:00 PM). As a studio, we were dedicated to creating a polished game, that previews AAA-level quality within the constraints of development. We wanted to not only make innovative systems - we aimed to create an immersive experience. Ours was a team that embraced innovation, actively seeking opportunities to explore new ideas and acquire fresh skills. It was important to us that we incorporate and acknowledge our multicultural, international background. We set our game in the Himalayas as an homage to our team members from South Asia and China, tran…
